Technically if you get a deferred admit you will not be a part of the Co 15 but a future batch. However attaching it here since many people have questions about ISB's work Ex requirements.

ISB to grant deferred admission to those with less than 2 years work-ex

Thanks for starting this thread. Is this going to be an active one or would this not be found among the many others due to a bug?

Now since the application for PGP 2015 is open, I have a query. While registering on the portal, it asks for Post Qualification work experience in terms of no of years and months.

But it is not clear to me that it asks for experience on which date.

Date when I am registering

Date when I am submitting the application

Date when the course starts

Can someone please help?

Yes makes all the sense for you to apply. ISB will be a great platform for you to launch your career in India. But you would need some really impeccable essays clear on both achievements and goals front. Your essays should be such that adcom gets fully convinced of your goals and highly impressed by your achievements even before you walk through the interview doors. In a nutshell, with your ISB Essays you should not only aim to get an interview call but also have an impactful interview. Can you please elaborate on your achievements at work?

Hi Abe,

To convert your chances from application to admission, you must submit strong application essays by highlighting your achievements and leadership traits. You must prepare to answer that how an MBA from ISB will help you to achieve your goals, what will you bring to the classroom, how will you contribute to the b-school society, etc during the final interviews.

Having said that, you have a good GMAT score and a decent GPA. You're quite focused on post-MBA career as well. I believe you would stand a good chance in ISB & others. Feel free to post any other concerns you might have. You may PM your details for free profile evaluation and school selection.

Hi,

The best point of contact would be ISB admission office. You must reach out to them and ask specific queries.

Hi Puys,

I am a current student at ISB, Hyderabad. I gained a lot from this forum during my admissions. would be glad to help in my own small ways.

Does one need the latest resume at any stage of the admission process ? If yes, are there any guidelines for that?

Hi ...

Do we need transcripts for applying to ISB? or are plain marksheets from recognized Indian universities sufficient?

Hi Everyone,

I am a ISB 2015 aspirant. I have a decent academic career throughout. 10th-77%, 12th-77%,Grad-73%. I am working with Infosys LTD and will be completing 3 years this Nov(will be having around 4 years of exp by Sept 2014). In 2.8 years IT experience, i have been involved in domain like pre-sales ,consulting , development, winning client deals etc which showcase my strong leadership skills and decision making capabilities.I am also involved in some social work. I would like to know the chances of my profile getting shortlisted ? i am yet to take GMAT(target @ 720+).

Hi,

I just wanted to check on how important the AWA scores are to the application.

I wrote GMAT again and got a decent overall score.
My IR score is 8/8 as well. My AWA score however, fell to 5/6 from the 6/6 I got last year.
This translates to 60%ile.

Does that dent my chances, keeping all other factors constant.
The average and median GMAT score is available on the website and I'm relatively fine on that front. Just concerned about the AWA score. Any inputs please?

Hey Guys... I am new to pagal guy & this is my first attempt at a profile evaluation, and i am not sure if profiles like mine are accepted at B-schools.My parents were migrant labourer i would travel with them wherever they would get work, it was in class 8th that we ended up living in an army camp for 3years as it was being built up,learnt english, did my 10th in CBSE scoring 71% in 2003, went on to drop out for a year as my father fell sick and we lost him eventually, traveled across the country, took up commerce and cleared my 12th with a 76% in CBSE boards in 2006.After this, i enrolled into B.com fulltime and worked in Genpact (a BPO) on part time basis for 8months. In the 2nd year of my graduation, june 2007, i started working with an NGO that worked on lively hood and public health projects for bonded labourers and rose up to be their national program coordinator by december 2011. Scored 50% in B.Com with a 1year drop from 2006-2010.

In dec 2011, I decided to move towards the corporate side of Healthcare, and in January 2011 joined a leading hospital chain as an intern, and through subsequent interviews in June 2012 was absorbed as a management trainee (where they only take masters in hospital management). Got promoted this june and now work as an assistant manager in operations.

All that i have learnt in these years has been on the feild and i wish to go to a good school as a full time student, my GMAT stands at a 770. And i am wanting to apply for the class of 2015.

Hi, I have a general question about consulting and I wanted to clarify this. Whats the difference between management and functional consulting? I ask this as I attended a webinar of the consulting club and I failed to ask my question there. Also, if I'm interested in business process improvement, where would that fall into? thanks.

A question about the recommendations: I don't think my evaluators who are very busy will take a serious and quality attempt in writing my recommendations because of the length. How detrimental or beneficial will that be to my application? Also, can someone explain what this question is trying to elicit?

Please indicate two areas where the applicant has shown learning and improvement which would add value to his application to the ISB. -- is it asking for weaknesses that the applicant has improved upon?
