Having come to the close of 2010 class admissions, this is the right time to start a new thread for the 2011 class aspirants. We have 6 months time for the application process. so discussions about what to do, how to improvise the profile, etc can be held in here. Welcome aboard and let us make it to ISB!!!

Nice initiative and count me in....though as complete newbie only, so it will be nice if you could please summarize the major steps in the entire application process.

hi andy_jaan

application process starts by july and generally it's in two rounds for the indian passport holders and rolling process for foreign passport holders.
application consists of 3 essays with 300 word limit. and 2 more essays if u r applying for scholarship. based on gmat, work ex, application essays and extracurriculars/ achievements ur application will be evaluated holistically (that what ISB calls it ). need to be shortlisted for the interview. ISB iv is generally acknowledged as very friendly.

so thats it. more details u can get from ISB website itself.
www.isb.edu

regards.

Count me in Guys! I got the ding today, so no better day to start with the preps for the next time than today!

I am still thinking what will be the best plan to come up with a stronger profile next year. I am hoping a better GMAT, additional work-ex, EC's and better essays should make the cut.

ATB to all....

Thanks.

I will be a re-applicant to ISB this year. Appeared in telephonic interview in R1 but was "not selected". Not yet decided if I'll apply again, but none-the-less will support all through.

My Profile at the time of applicaion will be(Sept: 2009)
27/male/IT - 4 years (2 years onsite)
GMAT:750 (Q51,V39,4.0)
Not so great acads but decent extra-curricular activities.

Best of luck to all applicants.

Hey,

I am a re-applicant too... and will be applying to ISB next year with better GMAT.

till then... do take good care of youself.

good initiative. as thrust said there is no better time to prepare for the next application season. let us share here... what they think went wrong. there no better criticism than one self.

i had low gmat. also comparatively low grades in acads. though i got reasons and explained, i may have failed to convince them. i would have done the same thing if i were in place of adcom...considering programme's rigour.

Hi friends,

A wonderfull Thread ... Lets start right away ....
I was R2 applicant and got a Ding 😞 ... I am also considering to apply ISB R1. I am confused on whether to retake GMAT or not and how to improve my profile.

Here goes my profile:
710(50,35,AWA 4) , IT Products total 4.5 yrs (till date), 1 Year International exp (london).

Acads: Good
ECs : OK

Please Guide and lets the hit together the road to ISB once again ...

Cheers ....

P.S: Rejdar I am also in london, lets meet up

If I might make a suggestion, please start a new thread for essay-related feedback. There have been many posts on this on the 2009 thread, but I feel it requires a dedicated thread. This thread may not suffice since the essay topics next year might change.

710 by itself is not a low score. However, you've got time. If you feel you can do MUCH better (not marginally), invest some time to give the GMAT again.

Hi all,
I am a newbie too. Yet to give GMAT exam. I have a few questions here.
1. what the timelines? For 2009 round 1 last date was in sept.
2. When does it start?
3. Why is this thread called 2011 aspirants? is this the pass out year?

ISB has been ranked among top 15 B Schools of the world by Financial Times in their Rankings for 09...

Business school rankings and MBA rankings from the Financial Times

Hi guys,

Thanks for starting this thread.

Good luck to all

Puys,

I am almost convinced that it is absolutely necessary to have a very good GMAT score to better your chances at ISB, or for that matter any 1 year Indian program, especially if you are an Indian IT Male with OK kinda acads and ECs. And this is not because ISB requires so, but just that the incoming applicants are too competitive and they have surely raised the bar. Last year, the GMAT Indian IT average at ISB was 730, this year I am guessing (~740-750) ?? I am thinking of a retry as well.

Anyone shares a similar feeling?

Thanks.

Hello Puys,

Count me in ... planning to write the GMAT by April ... and hopefully be a R1 applicant ... .... so a lot of road to cover before I can even apply .. :xmas: ....

My profile - 5WE in Finance- Avg Acad- EC decent - hopefully will learn a lot from the exp puys here :

Cheers,
Atul
