Let me start with an experience that I had @IMT-Ghaziabad,this happened in March of 2010, we were on campus for our Placements and I was sitting in the canteen having a cup of coffee and hot maggi, when a bloke caught up with me for an interesting discussion, read on to know more how it went;

I have been through this feeling of gyaan sharing over a period of last 3 years and had the same questions in Mind when I had joined IMT-Dubai as a MBA student about 3 years back...
Who am I?
Yes...A very Important Question to begin with..I am Ankur a MBA-Marketing graduate from IMT-Dubai(2010), have been at PG for last 4 years now,was working with Hindustan Times in Online Media Sales didn't like the profile, chucked it,recently took up a Marketing and Admissions profile with my alma mater IMT-Dubai.
Current Designation: Admissions Officer at IMT-Dubai
Credentials: Have more than 3 Years of work experience with Organizations like Satyam, Hindustan Times and now IMT-Dubai.
Roles Played: Software Engineer, Sales, Marketing, Business Development,Event Management
Education:Apart from my MBA, I Did my Computer Engineering from C.I.T.M,Faridabad in the year 2005.( All i learnt after my 4 years over there was that Engineering really was not my cup of tea..!:lookround:)
My Interests: I used to be a complete bibliophile( not able to get time these days, a On-Off Blogger, Love to drive and yes love to make the most out of life.

This space is all an IMT-Dubai aspirant can ever ask for, I would be in the next couple of posts giving you an Idea of what is IMT-Dubai all about, A Glossary of answers to all the questions that i have been bombarded with over the last 3 years and then finally What to expect after an MBA in Life.
After that it would be your call, you can shoot any concerns that you have with regards to admission process, fee, visa issues anything under the sun with regards to IMT-Dubai to me over here, and I would be able to help you out.

Programs Offered on Campus
MBA and BSBA
IMT-Dubai has been Offering an International MBA Program since 2006, we would be starting up with an undergraduate International Management program-BSBA from this year.
Both the Programs are Accredited by Ministry of Higher Education, UAE which in other word means that your degrees would be valid around the world anywhere you go.
Number of Batches that have Graduated:3 Batches of MBA's have already graduated from Campus( Approx 450 Students)
Admission Cycle:
MBA:Based on the American Model of MBA, we have two batches for admissions, January and September.
BSBA: We would have only one admission cycle for BSBA that will operate from September 2011
Location in Dubai
IMT is located at Dubai International Academic City along with Top Universities from world over but is the only B-school, which has its own fully residential 6 acre campus.
What is DIAC?
DIAC is the only free zone in the world dedicated to Higher Education.Its the place where students get the best of amenities.

Okay...
Is IMT-Dubai related to IMT-Ghaziabad?
Yes and No, IMT-Dubai is the first over seas campus of IMT-Ghaziabad, so yes we are one, but since it is an International B-School, the curriculum, exposure, and peer experience is completely different, IMT-Ghaziabad has no role to play in MBA Program at our campus.
Is the MBA Program at IMT-Dubai AICTE Approved?
Please remember, AICTE is an Indian body of Accredit-ion and applies to B-schools operating in India, we are an International B-school operating out of UAE, so we have to get accredit ion from Government of UAE.
Both Post Grad(MBA) and Undergrad(BSBA) courses at IMT-Dubai are accredited by Ministry of Higher Education, UAE.
So,What does this accredition mean?
In other word this means that you Degree is as good as approved by AICTE and your degree is accepted world wide in any organization or University.
It is not a Certificate but a Government Approved University Degree.:)
Does IMT have its own campus, what are the residential/study facitlities?
We have a fully operational residential campus, with everything that a premium management B-school campus should have.wont like to get into wifi...and tyical brochure stuff..one line should suffice.."we have it all!":)

For eg; in our batch we had 5 French nationals with us.
What will be my Visa Status?
You will be on IMT-student Visa..for the period of your studies in Dubai.
Can I work along with my MBA?
Yes, you can work along with your MBA..being an International Program IMT gives you enough flexibility to earn while you study.
The Total Cost of the MBA Program

We are situated in a market which is the hub for Global Marketing and Logistics, so you get more of Marketing,Sales and Logistics Profiles.
For the Batch of 2008-2010
We had about 240 Students, 125 of them were specializing in Marketing, 60 into Operations, 45 in Finance and rest in HR.
About 50% of the batch had work ex.
We had got placements done for everyone who was interested to get into jobs, many of us were looking for business opportunities too.
The Average Salary for Freshers was : 6000-7000 AED
Average Salary for Work Ex will be: 7500-8000 AED
We had about 10 Indian Placements as well with Organizations such as HT Media, Kotak Bank, ICICI Lombard and Amba Research.
Majorly we had Sales profile on Offer but then we also had niche finance and logistics profiles on campus.
In the end it came down to what an Individual wanted,if you were good and had the courage to follow your heart, their were ample opportunities to talk of.
Comparison with Other B-schools
I wont like to compare one program with another program, because that would be like comparing Apples with Oranges, We offer an accredited Full Time MBA Degree Program, while competition has a completely different program. As I say to many aspirants, you need to find details about some good programs and then see which fits your dreams and aspirations. Once you have put your heart in it, then their should be no looking back.

v2013 SaysCan someone tell me why anyone would invest 20 laks in a degree that is not even recognised ? You can to go schools like the LSE/Imperial/HEC for the same costs and enviable global reputation.

First of all you will have to adjust to the fact that "IMT is the Only B-school of Indian Origin whose MBA Degree is Recognized World wide.". MBA from IMT-Dubai is UAE Government accredited and is Internationally accepted be it India or the west.
Would request you to please refrain from making comments without facts.
Coming to later part of your concern, which i guess is a genuine concern, sure you are most welcome to move to "LSE/Imperial/HEC", we are not forcing anyone to join IMT-Dubai..are we?:biggrin:
Please understand 3 batches of MBA students from IMT-Dubai have already passed out and are doing a good job with their careers around the world.

I would request you to refrain from passing comments about any university, since it is only your opinion which is best avoided in public without any valid reasons.
Please understand that when you pass negative comments about a university, there are thousand of students who have their careers and memories attached to that place, kindly do keep these things in mind before commenting.

Kind of Assignments: Well, I was specializing in Marketing and Sales, I did anything you may want to do in an MBA, sold Mobile phones for Samsung at Dubai Shopping Festival, Did business Development activities for a India Based IT Company who were coming up with their online shopping website in Dubai, Did a Research study and Business Development Activity for a UAE based consultancy in Garment Sector, went to Qatar for Internship, Launched a New Start up on its inception Day at Dubai Financial Center.
I have got opportunity's at every step of my stay at IMT-Dubai, I only needed to look for one and I had it.

The Times ranks University of Greenwich 91 out of 125-odd in a country smaller than the size of Rajasthan. I think the concern is whether there is any real value in these tie-ups or have they been made because it's one of the things that private b-schools do because everybody else does it.

I missed CAT but appeared for SNAP but scored only 51. if i am required i ll appear for GMAT but would a good GMAT score and no experience would get me through IMT dubai ... I have engineering back ground and I am in the last year( MIT Pune)..Frankly how easy or how difficult is the Admission ......

Well, I partially agree with Apurv that it has become more of a necessity for B-schools to actually have this tie ups, cause it is required in todays interconnected world.
Coming to rankings, I would say its that, we are still in the process of adding more universities for our student exchange all across europe, kindly wait for some time for me to update.

You can even appear for our In-house IMT Test other than GMAT, How easy or difficult it is?- well, I have no clue as to what may be difficult for a person to crack, I am sure each individual has his own set of goals and he plans accordingly, once you set you eyes to something their should be no looking back no matter how difficult.:)

Can you throw some light on the ANNUAL Salary Packages??
Also..i would really like to know the placement scenario (profiles and packages) for the 2010 batch... :)
