@mic1988 There is nothing like average GMAT score considered for GD/PI call. It depends on the profile as a whole and not just on GMAT score. Hope that answers your question

@MBAgyan2012 said: Hi, seems like most of the dates & deadlines mentioned on Great Lakes website are old (2011). Does anyone know when is the application deadline for 2013 admissions? A few more questions:
My younger brother is current working in an Energy PSU and wants to pursue his career in energy sector so that he can leverage his experience. When does the GLIEMR's own campus start and when is it expected to get AICTE approval?
Is on campus accommodation available?
Following is my brother's profile. How do you rate his chances+do you recommend him this program:
GMAT: 720, CAT 93%ile
Elect Engg - NIT - 8.3 CGPA
Current CTC- Rs. 12 Lac
Exp: 4 years in 2013
Decent extra curricular
Can a student joining PGPM (1year) opt to take up some courses from PGPM(Energy)?
Thanks..
Looking at your brother's level of experience and salary he is drawing currently; whether to go for MBA in Energy Management (MBA is a competency, it helps in long run) or not is a difficult question. One of my friend was also working in Energy sector, he did his MBA (Greatlakes) the same sector and now he is with Deloitte. I guess discussing with Industry veterans and current students of IEMR would help.
Good Luck.

That is not what I felt - although my feelings based on a simple fact that there was mostly GMAT guys on first cycle and CAT/XAT guys in second one. GLIM has appropriated some number of seats for each cycle. Pal, forget these trivial issues. Let me tell you - Go ahead full steam, until you arrive the gate that says "Great Lakes Institute of Management".

Hey Rev,
The admission process for each b-school changes every year to get more fitting and better candidates. But your acads are good enough to get you through. GLIM considers a holistic approach, where all components are given due weight. Few points worth considering.
1- Practice hard & Give your best to any of GMAT, XAT or CAT. Securing great percentile will get you through first stage.
2- Get your writing skills by reading a lot and start getting statement of purpose (SOP) ready.
3- Be aware of happening around the world (8-12 months). Any topic ranging from Business to Politics to Socio-Cultural topics. Helps in interview and group discussion.
4- Understand your domain of work to explain how you are contributing to your organization. Understand the function of your current capacity.
5- If you have a hobby, be prepared to give a comprehensive answer to any question related to that. If you don't have a hobby, quickly develop one & start research.
6- There are two cycles of Admission, chose the one where you can give your best shot. Most probably the second cycle will help you, considering you have much time you can use from your work schedule.
Now, Go Ahead and Nail it dude(tte)! Best of luck.
Thanks Pankag. Do guys applying in first cycle have advantage over the guys applying in the second cycle? That is the case with foriegn universities but just want to understand how it is in GLIM.

I don't know whether I am allowed to disclose the questions from previous year. So I would give a generalized answer which would certainly solve your purpose. Please start searching about Statement of Purpose or SOP. Once you search about it, you will discover several other questions you need to answer such as your short term and long tern goals, your strengths and weaknesses, your career goal and personal goal, why you go for the career you have chosen etc. Please go through the SOPs of applicants of Ivey league schools. Chicago booth, Harvard, Kellog and Wharton and many other schools and u will know. GOOD luck.

I think u can. That is the reason they have kept two cycles and first cycle is normally for people with GMAT scores. If at all they did not allow two applications, they would have explicitly mentioned the same. But my suggestion would be you please check this with admissions committee first thing when they open the admissions.
