I am from bangalore..I was planning to attend coaching but from different sources and reviews, i came to know coaching might not add much value to over preparation(unless we are completely unaware of GMAT and we can't study with out someone pushing us)...So i have started by my own..initially facing difficulty..lets see how it goes...share the the plan you guys have to crack GMAT in this dec

i was a part of the thread "aiming for Jan 2010"...but then the thread got too inactive, while my studying got more active! i hope to be able to give it by dec '09 now...the following are my last 2 relevant (and slightly edited) posts...
14th Sept:
hi...so, done with all the review sections from PR, except for CR (cos it's kinda boring)...
I don't think the math review in PR is good enough. I don't know how insufficient it is, but I'm definitely going to do OG's math review soon. Even SC doesn't seem enough. The book itself says that if u shud def look at a more extensive grammar review from a grammar book! For Math review, I also printed the Manahattan GMAT flashcards...may use them too.
As of now, i'm going to try reading some more abt CR from PR tonight. And tomm morn, goin to give the "warm up test" (60 mins) and see which practice bin I should start with.
Any idea abt where one can find the best math review from?
15th Sept:
So, I did the warm-up test today (60 mins - 20 qs. from V & M each)
I got 16/20 in math...and 13/18 in verbal (didn't have time left to ans. last 2)...
Although i haven't been able to analyse what I did wrong yet (am in office!), but...I did not expect to do better at math than verbal! verbal is my strength, but I think my speed of goin thru the RC was horrible (even after i used the method from PR!)...the PR method IS still pretty good...I just need to do it FASTER...and yes, i do generally read slowly, so I have to increase my conc/speed when i read now...
Also a lil worried abt my verbal accuracy (5 wrong out of 18! 
)...will go back and see what the hell I was doing!
I realise I should relax a lil...it's the first time I tried out a test, just started studyin for GMAT, actual exam is far, far away...but still! 
Anyway...still waiting for a response abt where to do math review from!
ps. still have to finish reading the CR review from PR (3 types of qs. down, 5 more to go.................)

I've been reading about GMAT related stuff for more than 1.5 months now...but my prep has practically stopped for the last 2 weeks! I'm working so I was waking up early to study before work...but I guess I got tooo sleepy!
Anyway, I'm back on track now. I'm giving the GMAT on 15th December, and I am to get well...an amazing score. :D
Isn't there anyone else giving the GMAT in December? WHY is this thread so inactive??? Come on!!! It's not too far away!
Why don't people tell us which stage of their preparations they're at currently? Given any practice tests? What the scores were on them?

I tried buying them online but it would take time getting them.

I havent done anything in SC....so looking prep material for SC.
Im very comfortable with quant so i thing 10 days should be enough for the same.
How is ur prep goin...

I have registered for the GMAT and the D-Day is 28th December. Hope this thread is useful for folks who are taking their exam in December.
BTW, i have decided against coaching classes and would be preparing on my own.

hey m preparing for gmat for quite some time n during this i found that my reading speed has a significant room for improvement ........
i av searched a lot on net about the ways to increase reading speed n found CNN.com, harvard magazine, etc. are pretty recommendable.....
any body has any idea about where to find articles for increasing reading speed specifically targetting at GMAT.....
@adityagopal & DeeBusy... I've booked my GMAT date for 15th dec...and hope that booking an appt will push the slow pace at which i've been preparing! I think we should form our own study group here on PG...i feel disadvantaged cos I can't find any fellow delhi gmat takers who are actively involved on the site!
Let me know what materials you have, what your study plan is like...and how much you've studied for GMAT till now...!

hi! ur studying seems to be on the right track...i had been a little upset after giving a miniature gmat test (not a diagnostic)...and was v disappointed with results so stopped studying for a bit (obv the wrong way to go)...am back on track on...begun going thru mgmat flashcards...to further build on my concepts...they seem pretty basic till now...agh...goin into too much detail again (see my blog where i write abt my prep)....did u find mgmat sc?
