Hi puys,
I also have an unconditional admit for Durham MBA.
@heyram_be- These are the prominent differences in Durham & Bradford..

BRADFORD
Pros-
1. Not much to quote..its an average Tier-II school
Cons-
1. Double accredited (AMBA, EQUIS)
2. Concentrated with a population of a specific community..specially from Pakistan & Middle East. (populatly known as 'Bradistan')
3. Loosing consistently in recent rankings
4. No GMAT is required.
5. Higher fee structure (19.95 k GBP), as compared to Durham (18k)

DURHAM
Pros-
1. Triple accredited (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB)
2. Very good reputation of University..which is the third oldest UK University..(after Oxford & cambridge)
3. Competitive fee structure (18k)
4. Wide range of electives
5. Academic exchange opportunity..in some very reputed b-schools.
6. Unique board-room activity..in the curriculum.
7. Opportunity to learn a foreign language (out of 6)..which is the most unique feature..noticed in any Tier-II (or probably Tier-I) b-school.
8. Consistently raising in the rankings..(Economist-55th rank, FT-74th rank)
9. Very good value for money (18k)..and has the least fees..compared to Bradford (19.95k) & Edinburgh (22.3k)
10. Good brand/reputation in India
11. Stong career services & industry contacts.
Cons-
1. Located in a county..in England.
2. Don't require GMAT..access the profile of the candidate in totality+Interview

Hi All!!

Can you tell me which is best out of the foll univ for mba?

Aston,Durham,Strath?

Hi Saurabh,

Congratulations for your Durham and Bradford MBA offer. So finally what have you decided on the same front. are you going with Durham or waiting for some other offers as well.

I have applied to Durham more than 5 weeks back and am still waiting for an update on the same. have 7 plus years exp in IT filed, IELTS score of 7 and no GMAT.

Can you please tell me when did you applied to Durham and how much time it took for them to respond to your application? what questions did they asked you in Interview?

For a person without GMAT i would say Durham is the best bet and after that comes Aston.

Mitesh.

Hi Mitesh,

I have offers from Aston, Durham, Henley & few other EU schools..and conditional admit (GMAT) from Leeds & Strathclyde... since last few months.. I've done intensive research on UK b-schools & their prospects..I'm also in contact with inumerous alumni..of these schools.. & the general picture that I've got..is that..there is a tremendous scarcity of opportunities of jobs in UK..
So now..I'm giving second thoughts for a tier-2 UK MBA..as the post-MBA prospects are very bleak..! Lets see..waisae now I'm thinking of GMAT..however it is really tough to spare time for preparations.

I applied for Durham in mid-December..& my application status was "Application under departmental review" for almost a month..by 20th January..I got a mail for Interview schedule & I confirmed my i/v by telephone on 28th Jan..within 2 days..I got a mail..that my i/v is scheduled on 15th Feb 6:30 pm..so I confirmed it & asked 4 i/v after 8:30 pm..so finally they gave me the time of 9:00 pm..the i/v was very good & a general one..why MBA, why Durham, why now, strengths & weakness, ex which proved my leadership potential..etc.. I got the mail/offer on 17th Feb..:lookround:

So..I think that u r on right tracks..& no need to worry.

Are u also planning to join Durham?

Thanks Saurabh!!!

Are u also planning to join Durham?

Yaar..actually I am thinking about Durham seriously..so may be..if It's UK..thn I might Zero it out..as it is the BEST option for me..in the Tier-2 schools pool..

..But thinking about UK Vs US..as I intend to do an MBA..for a career change..so a 2 yr course is advisable..but then there r certain other factors like..GMAT (unable to prepare/time constrains), cost, time(2yrs)..etc..So I'm in a confused state of mind..

..Lets see..Hey but dear..u r on the right tracks..Go ahead with Durham..
btw..did you deposit 1000 GBP @ Durham ??

Hey..this thread is Deserted..since ages..!
