I have been to admitted to Penn State - Smeal for the class of 2008.

Also have received some financial aid:)

Anyone else on this forum who is in the same boat?

HI

I had my interview last Friday.

The interview was conducted by Tim, a second year student of the current batch at Smeal MBA.

First the Tim introduced himself told me which line he is going to work in etc.

The interview went as follows
Q: Why Smeal ?
A: Blah, blah, something abt Smeal I read on the site.

Q: Why Now ? Why MBA ?
A...

Q: Give example of team work
A: gave one of my current job ...

Q: Give example of bad experience in a team ..
A....

Q: How do u define leadership etc...

Q: example of a leader who failed.
A: screw up on this one.....

Q: Which specialization ?
A: Marketing ...

Q: why marketing ? and what in marketing B2B, B2C ?
A:...

Well thats about it...

The interview atmosphere was very cordial and frank.

& Swapnil best of luck for your interview.

I have submitted for the Feb 1 deadline.... when do i expect a reply???

They take about 3 weeks from he time ur file is complete. I am an R1 applicant and got my decision in Jan.

Hey zash,

They take some time before they offer an interview call...dont worry.

Of ISB, Smeal and NUS.....depends on where you wanna be after your MBA.

An MBA frm Smeal would give you the flexibility to work anywhere in the world.

NUS would restrict you to the ASia Pacific region

nd ISB to India

If cost is a factor then smeal and NUS are a good choice in terms of ROI.

I m not in favour of ISB solely bcoz they rarely give scholarships and aid...and spending 15 lacs for an MBA in India can hit you hard.

This is my opinion...choice is urs!!!

congrats to all who got into Smeal .......this was a school in my radar.....as far as ISB goes ..they do have foriegn placement ...but even i agree that if cost is not a constraint a US MBA is much better than ISB.

You are right.. It depends on where you want to be post MBA, to choose your MBA destination. I want to be in India but I feel I cant afford to be in India now.. may be 5 to 10 years down the line. But for sure Asia pacific is most happening region and will be so for coming atleast half a century. I do want to be a part of this action.

I think I will wait for Smeal, Cambridge and Melbourne but at the end if I have to make a choice I will go for NUS or ISB.

I just received a mail from Smeal saying that they have not received my GMAT score report though I had forwarded that through mba.com.... how did youll send your score reports?.. shoukd I reply them saying that I have already sent the score or what??
