u know what bud.,i really don't know how many 90%ilers are there and i don't even care but the fact remains the same.I have a very interesting thing to tell you..Last year my very close frnd scored 80%ile in XAT and sat 4 gd-pi,inspite of repeated warnings 4m my side..In his gd-pi there was a guy all dressed in formals with goggles and sneakers and that guy had 33%ile sumthng.He didn't uttered a word in gd and god knows what he spoke in his interview.My frnd didn't got selected,may be poor performance ..And the casual guy got his seat in the PM dept..This tells all the story..And since all the guys in ur PM dept are 90%lers,it wud be easy on ur side to find that the odd one out..The 33%ile guy..I hope u will check it out and tell the truth to puys...

P.S.-i assume u r a pm guy and will definitely know all the PM guys in 2010 batch..So let's play a game,u give me the name of all the guys and i Will pick up one name..Just do all the background search abt him and u will get the real picture..It will save a lot of time of both of us..And regarding,bud,i am final year student and perfectly sane so no XISS for me..:) and by the way scored 89 in my first attempt and hopefully will do better next year..and one last thing,it's just not abt my frnd,

Now don't try to deviate and re-frame what you posted in your earlier post. According to you, 90% of the seats are sold, i answered to that. If you ever have time and want to talk sense and add gravity to what you are saying, please see my previous posts. Nowhere, have i mentioned that all the seats are merit-based filled. But, i retaliated because of insane lamenting of yours. I hope you are clear to what i am saying. I give a damn to all those bloody backdoor-entrants and don't have time to check and verify because i repeat, there are a few, but don't exaggerate the data and sensationalize things.
What ever you are posting, had you been active in this thread or following it, you would have never written, what you have, because i have already mentioned all this about backdoor admission.
Also, the story which you are telling, i suppose, everybody joining the college is aware of. Cook up some fresh stuff please.
Regarding your percentile and your confidence, may god help you score 100 percentile, but sincerely friend you need to go through metamorphosis.

Well, i am assuming that you have made the final cut buddy in XISS-PM. Sorry to tell you, that 80-90 % of the company look for 60% throughout in your past academics.
However, you don't have to worry for what has happened. Its good that you want to start afresh. Once you join an organization, it is your skill,dexterity and the knowledge you acquire in the process, there is no stopping..

Lastly, for your very kind information, get your figure and data correct mate, you consider 90+ percentile as high or too much for XISS-PM, wake up buddy, get out of your dreams..Try to find out how many have 90+ percentile in the present batch, if you can..As if, being from Ranchi you are aware of everything, try finding out more details...

If the college is wi-fi enabled, then why do we have to pay for separate internet connection? Are you talking about the internet connection @ mess? How much can that be per month?
1000-2000 additional misc expenses asked by the college - is this per month or per annum?
You said that out of a batch of 75.. 62-66 are placed till date. Are you talking about the 2011 batch or the 2012 batch?I saw the placement brochure and counted 77 being placed from 2011 batch. Please clarify this.

IV or IT differs primarily in the nomenclature done by our institute. As of what i can see and differentiate(as we have not been to ind tours), the major difference is that ind visits are just general briefing for us to be aware of the recent HR and IR issues existing presently before we leave for our SIPs. Industrial tours are done prior to our placement season, wherein we go to different organizations head-office,invite our alumni primarily,mind it primarily.
1 industrial visit for a batch,if the present situation prevails.
For industrial visit, we were segregated into 3 groups,jamshedpur,kolkata n ranchi, muri,munidih coal mines..read the last one as a separate group..
The college arranges for almost everything and for a stay of 10 days, you will be charged around 8000-14000 bucks.
Rural camp for PM--look the genesis of XISS and the way institute runs, it takes pride in social service. The college want its students to be aware of how life is in villages n rural areas and face the hardships and groom yourself to be people-centric, it is not only about money, it is also about mankind. Our seniors used to stay in rural areas for a week or so,come to terms with life their and hence always give a thought to the down-trodden in making a decision...We were deprived of it because of naxalism, but, from this batch, hopefully, they are going to start it again..I tell you, all the alumni have high praise fro rural camp n its one of its kind..
You can avail college internet/wi-fi from 9 am-7 pm, so after that you are sort of paralysed, mind it you don't have a hostel here so your internet must not be a snail-speed one;)..Tata photon charges 1200 bucks for 12 gb,i guess..It depends on your use mate
good one,1000 bucks per month or per annum..well, what happens that every noe and then, some books.journals published by college,any function,seminar,trips,local companies visit,etc demands around 1000 bucks,it is never 2000,sorry that i wrote so, was in a jiffy last night..
I was talking of 2011 batch, how they have written 77,is because of multiple offers,some times what happens that a company gives PPO to a student who has already bagged a job through campus placements, some are kept in buffer or waiting..so,might happen that this way the figures are swelled a bit;)

I can tell you what we have paid for industrial visit,around 10,000-15,000 rupees. Rural camp was not possible for our batch,but,for yours it will be, but don't expect anything more than 10,000 rupees again.
The industrial tour cost is high. we are generally taken to bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai. The cost hovers around 50,000-60,000 rupees. We are yet to go for our industrial tours,but.
Apart from this, you have to shed a hefty amount for internet for good speed, and probably 1000-2000 additional misc expenses asked by the college.

P.S.- laugh out loud, when you read this. We are also charged a fine of Rs 50 if we aren't shaved on a particular day. Hairs should be trimmed and students should be in their uniform,etc;)

HR people are seen as change champion these days, so using stagnation for us is like a sin/slang;)
I would rate any symbiosis college way above XISS, when one talk of value addition...

Fee is same for all the departments but, i would suggest you not to take admission in IM. XISS-IM is finding it very tough to even fill its seats. You being a computer engineer wont get anything substantial here. In fact, when we joined, there were talks that IM will be closed, but they are given a chance of 2-3 years to prove their mettle.

actually i talked abt 4.5l placement coz there r 65 mba colleges in pune and to tell u the fact that half of them has 100% placemnt record with avg over 5l ....but still those colleges are B rated and comes in not-so-good category...

as my father works for TATASTEEL....i can and will get job in tatasteel after my mba from any college....but i want to take proper education....xiss didnt c me worthy enough so be it.....some other college will......

rt now i m loving my job...... after all u dnt get chance to go to europe(knowing tht somebody else is paying) every now and then.....

The faculty student ratio is too large at XIME,i guess they are taking 240 students...

Both are diametrically opposite field buddy...if you have interest in agri business then fine, otherwise i will suggest you to go for HR, not telling that you come here only or endorsing my college, but talking as a field..

on day of holi i recieved an email from one of the guy from xiss wishing me holi....it had a url at the bottom which directed me to its facebook page.... i visited the facebook page of xiss and i saw a url of local newspaper stating that few people from xiss got placed in icici with pkg of 4.5 l(i dont know if tht news is to be proud of,as 4.5 l is on lower side)....this amount is what i would be earning in next yr....also nxt month i m going to UK(onsite)

moreover on my gd/pi day i saw a professor wearing a tie with cat made of it.....also in brochure u can c few of them wearing a very casual dress and having a very casual look on their faces....people over there expect student to come well dressed but dnt do the same....

so bottom line...its not bad after to get rejected....but definitely i m not dejected.....

its over for me....nxt yr i wont try for it as experienced people dnt get value there.....

3) how is the growth in the field of PM once we pass out... means do you feel that there can b stagnation 4-5 years down the lane if we continue with core PM...and not digress to marketing and all (i don't have any idea about the course please throw some light on the issue of growth and progress in the field)

XISS-PM are valued all through the country and the name commands respect and there is no point to digress. ya, it is one thing to know the nitty-gritty of other function, which is the least expected from you,once you pass out. HR people are seen as change champion these days, so using stagnation for us is like a sin/slang;)
I would rate any symbiosis college way above XISS, when one talk of value addition...

Any other general expenses for studying apart from personal expenses?

Do we get stipend during the SIPs? Will the college arrange for the SIPs or we have arrange it on our own?

I can tell you what we have paid for industrial visit,around 10,000-15,000 rupees. Rural camp was not possible for our batch,but,for yours it will be, but don't expect anything more than 10,000 rupees again.
The industrial tour cost is high. we are generally taken to bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai. The cost hovers around 50,000-60,000 rupees. We are yet to go for our industrial tours,but.
Apart from this, you have to shed a hefty amount for internet for good speed, and probably 1000-2000 additional misc expenses asked by the college.

P.S.- laugh out loud, when you read this. We are also charged a fine of Rs 50 if we aren't shaved on a particular day. Hairs should be trimmed and students should be in their uniform,etc;)

2) how are the placements like??..... do you have positive ROI after getting placed??

3) how is the growth in the field of PM once we pass out... means do you feel that there can b stagnation 4-5 years down the lane if we continue with core PM...and not digress to marketing and all (i don't have any idea about the course please throw some light on the issue of growth and progress in the field)

4) how would you rate value addition in terms of knowledge and skills as compared to symbiosis college { specially talking about SIIB - Agribusiness}

please help me out ...i am really confused at the moment.

My XAT % is 98.8.I have 4 years of exp in one to the major IT firm.
Had quite decent GD and PI (applied for PM only).
Even then i dont find my name in the list.Its kind of shocker to me.
God knows what went wrong

the only reason behind your rejection can be your experience. People here at XISS do not prefer people with significantly higher no. of years as work-ex...
I remember, a guy last year in my GD/PI day from google with a work-ex of 7 years with very high percentile being rejected.
You have got a better college in store mate.

1. i have been selected for the PM course. i just wanted to know that the first instalment of 53,000 that we need to pay, is refundable or non refundable and if it is refundable then how much amount will i get back.

2. Also i want to know about the accomodations there for the boys as there is no hostel available for boys. please help me out with both my problems.

3. Besides this, i also want to know the placements for the PM course and

4. after the payment of 1st instalment, when do we need to pay the full amount.

these anomalities are common here.. Wait for 2nd list dude, u'l get other better options.. May be others are more competant than u here..

People who r not selected in the first list, be optimistic because last year as well around 20 were selected from the 2nd list.
The fee will be around 53,000 multiplied by 6 trimester excluding industrial visit, camps & tours n fooding & lodging..
The expenses here in ranchi- i can tell you about mine, i spend 8,000 pm with fultoos partying n masti, jab se girlfriend hui hai tab se it has soared to around 10,000 pm. But, i/you can also live happily in 6,000 pm guyz.


Between BIMTECH Noida & XISS, i can tell you you might get a better exposure in BIMTECH, because of its location, that talking in relative sense ,but still If i were in your shoes, i would have opted for XISS, coz of a lot of factors, like brand name, ROi,etc
Plz 4gv me for my short-styled texting, i am damn busy these days in our college...

i like marketing very much and also got selected in final list but in one of your post u have written that marketing is a ralatively new branch and it will take time to prosper.
Please, guide me whether i should opt it or not.

Can you please help me out of a small problem here? Can you please tell me whether I should go for PGDM in BIMTECH :drinking:or PGDM (Personnel Management) in XISS:drinking:. Really confused... Please help.

I'v made it to PM and Mrkting..I'm intrested in PM...can any senior tell me the over all fee structure..and Since there is no hostel for boys,if you can also tell me the living expence in ranchi..i'll be more than happy..
