Seniors at XIMB - Is the IPRS placement report for XIMB made available somewhere ? I was pleasantly surprised to see XIMB's name there on the site, but didn't find the report along with SP Jain and IIMA. Is the report not compiled ? Is it somewhere else ? Are placements in process ? Have I asked too many questions ? :biggrin:

The details about linkages with external universities were also limited. I've checked the admission brochure, websites but couldn't find information on the number of people from XIMB that choose to pursue them. Is there somewhere else I should look ? More questions !

What is the time gap after the results are out, within which we have to confirm our admission ? I mean if the results are out by 6 April, then by which date does the selected candidate inform the institute, confirming his admission ? I am asking this, as I will be out of India during 17 to 26 april,2012. Please let me know about the procedure to be followed. Thanks in advance.

The results should be out in the first Week of April. I am sure the admin is trying its best to get the results out as early as possible.

Still, you can also check the status from the admissions office during office hours at the following contact number: 0674-3983806.

How do we come to know about results? By mail or by checking website with a log in?

Last year, there an email was sent to those who had converted.Also,the results came on the XIMB website and we had to log in through the XAT ID to check the status.

Should be on similar lines this year as well.

Results Should be out either by end of month or first week of April.

The weight-age of different parameters is never officially disclosed. So cant help much on that. Give it your best shot in the GD-PI round.

GD...for a group of 8, 1 min to think n 4-5 mins to speak..followed by 5 mins(i thought it was much less)
Topic was: the problem with indian products is not that it is made in india but it is made by indians.
The PI started then.
I was the last member for the interview for the day...
There were 3 people..One of them was totally quiet..2nd one asked most of the qns. 3rd one was the XIMB Director!!!!!:wow::wow::wow::wow:

P2: You seem to be an electrical engineer?
Me: Yes sir.
(and so the firing begins)
P2:What is SCR?
Me: told
Where is it used?
(dint remember told so)

And thus followed the ordeal.
about 15 questions on technical..if I am able to answer, a follow up question on application. There were snide comments on how I was absolutely not prepared.
FInally the guy said, "Like all other candidates, you know nothing of your engineering background." I dont know what to make of it.
Then comes the director's turn.
Lets see what do you know without studying

Even I had the same kind of interview.. they asked me about my graduation... only techinical questions... lasted fro 6-8 mins and then they asked me to leave

hi seniors,
i have my gd pi on 17th mar. the gd pi experiences of fellow puys is really scaring me... can anyone give me an idea as to what should i prepare in the upcoming days to crack the process... i have faced interviews but never a stress interview :(

Always go with an open mind . You never know which direction your PI may head too.
Brush up your acads a little. Always have one favourite subject ready if asked in PI. But be prepared to answer some questions on that.

If you have work ex, remember what all to mention. Keep it crisp and informative

Also, I guess this year's budget is coming out on the 16th of this month and your GD-PI is on the 17th. So do have a look at the budget too before going .
