Gireesh, have u done the payment ? My prob is that i had registd on thursday and got 2 xat id's .I had mailed them regarding the same.So was not able to make the payment.

Also I have received XLRI prospectus 2012.

What do i do ????? Sud I send the form again with certificates ????

The conformation page I sent to the Jamshedpur got Lost.
So I am sending again today only,from Bangalore.
Though the courier guy said it will reach by 9th,I really Doubt.
So would it be a problem If it got delivered late by a day?

Dude..dont worry...the people who sent the confirmation page days before you also in the same condition as you are in;)..including me....i guess they will update sabka sath me....after 9th only:)....but to be sure...you know can track ur courier/speed post:)...if tht shows it has reached..then its no worry:thumbsup:

I don't think you would find any seniors here at this time...so it would be better if u call the admissions office first thing in the morning(around 8:30) and ask for the help...thats the best u can do currently

Well i must say u are a bit lucky that the date got extended..
But anyway coming to your point...i had sent it a long time ago but they have not yet confirmed it on the site.so i called up the office and some person told me to resend the form if the update does not come tomorrow.he said they would consider late applications.(am still doubting that person knew anything at all)
But honestly since you have made the payment you don't have a choice anyway so send it ASAP.

I haven't talked with them. Yesterday, I mailed them the photo and the sign files as mentioned, but haven't got any update. If I don't get any by tomorrow morning, I will call them.

I suggest you also quickly mail them.

You have got a mail saying your photograph is not acceptable, I have got the mail saying my Signature is not acceptable....:nono: Have to send it again....

I think plain background is good enough....but it would be better if you get the photograph from any studio (I mean don't use your mobile phone or webcam to take the picture)....

I got the following email from XAT

"We have on checking your photograph and signature files (that you have uploaded for XAT registration) find that your photograph is not acceptable and may lead to rejection of your application.

To avoid this, please send us your passport size colour photograph showing your face clearly with a plain back ground (full height photographs or cut from group photographs or photographs with scenic backgrounds will be summarily rejected) and the signature file signed with a black or blue pen on white sheet (please ensure that the background is not dark or coloured). Both these should be within 50 kb each"


My query is there some other condition as to the resolution of the pic/signature? Will a colour photograph with plain coloured background work, or does it have to be on white background? Any other condition that needs to be taken care? They havent exactly given the reason as to why it was rejected in the first place.

Please respond quickly as I have to mail the same before 7th.

Today spoke with one of the XAT representatives and he had no update on the same. He asked me to wait for one more day and suggested to repost the form if it doesn't get updated by tomorrow. When I asked him that how is it possible to repost it again as the last date of form submission is 9 Dec then he said that for such cases we accept the form which reach after the scheduled date also

Same is the case with me...my xat account has yet not been updated with a confirm status...while my XLRI id has already been updated(which is surprising coz i forgot to add my certificates of 10th,12th and graduation and now in a fix what to do???)

There is no harm in reposting i guess...although i am planning to do it tomorrow.(but personally i think there should be no need,its just lethargic management from the XAT office and the confirmation would come sooner rather then later,and i say this because i send both the form exactly on the same day,with almost similar addresses and both should have reached simultaneously)

Cool!!! I just sent an email lamenting about not getting damned confirmation page...and within seconds i gor a confirmation reply!! that's efficiency. my nerves are at ease!! \:D/

The confirmation reply that u got in seconds was an automated reply which was only to notify you that your mail had been received by the XAT office,nothing else....sorry to have curbed your enthusiasm though!!!!:biggrin::biggrin:

And i can only be very certain of what i said because the same thing happened to me...however the very next day a reply came in which they said they could not confirm the status through e-mail in any situation.

I think it should be updated soon. I sent it on 17th Nov and it is still not shown on their page. XAT has a history of having pathetic management for their admission process. Ironic isn't it?

Err, I accidentally put GM as my first preference instead of BM, and now my preferences in my form look like

1. GM
2. HRM
3. BM

Which does look quite stupid in hindsight. My questions is, now what?

I made the same mistake of not sending the photocopies of the marksheets along with the confirmation page.

I called their office today, and they told me that I should write a letter addressing
the Chairperson, Admissions office.

Send it at the same address, stating that because I did not send my marksheets along with my confirmation page, I am sending the same attached with this letter.
Mention your XLRI Id in the letter.

Do NOT send the confirmation page again, that was categorically specified.

firstly , if u applied to xat with online mode payment thn thr is NOreceipt reqiurement dear....
as u r saying that u have delivered the confirmation page thn ur procedure is done irrespective of what payment mode u have gone thru...... coz thr wont b any receipt confirmation on ur mail a/c of xat...
& applying to xat & xlri both r different procedure .... xat confirmation means u wil get ur admit card by 18dec'11 & xlri confirmation means ur receipt that u got

You can check your XAT login page. It'll say "XAT Office confirms receipt of your XAT Confirmation Page."
You can also give a call to the XAT office 1800 102 3256 toll free number and get your status.

Hi Swapnil,
I would suggest you to take a photo with a white background only( a passport photo)...
the photo should be till your chest, your ears should be visible... they have given the sample photo, you will get an idea..
