Until now,I believed that WE was easy to get into with 80-85 %ile.

The admission process is as follows, points are assigned to ur Entrance exam score, and your answers to questions in the form, on the basis of that you get a call, generally all 80% plus are called

Later points are assigned to 1 GD (50 points), 2 PIs (100 points), form (20 points),past acads, job EXP, I will give exact distribution later

Admission is on the basis of these combined , i think out of 450, SO its possible if a guy has 80% but has excellent points in these other things, he gets selected


Right now, there are 3 categories of ppl
1 who have applied or are sure to, 2, those who r sure they dont want WE. These two have no worries. The 3rd group is who are not sure ,what there score is gonna be, or not sure if WE is good enough fr them or they can get into it, for these ppl I have a simple suggestion

wait for ur results, see if WE comes into the picture, Fill the form, see if U r selected, when u attend gd/pi, u will see the school 1st hand, everything cannot be faked, we can see frm the body languge of seniors, hear what they are sayin, where they r placed etc, see the mandatory disclosure, whether a bschool is good, then if u are selected , the decision is urs to make if u wanna take it or not, till then if u get SP jain or NM or symbi, U can forget WE

OK, So here's the thing, As i told you before, The Top 4,JB, SYD,WE,KJ closes @ 99.xx plus, below that Dalmia, MET , Chetana etc close at 97, 98( all ranked below WE)
SP jain is very much profile based and there too generally 95+ is needed, NM, less seats plus 50% seats reserved for minority, many ppl have not given NMAT etc

IN mumbai Bschools, for PGDM courses, they dont care if u have given CAT, CET, Or XAT, u have to enter the highest %, SO What do these people who have less or none job experience, but high entrance scores go? they go to WE

For example, In MET, to fill form, u, need 85% in cat( official admissions, not backdoor, i dunno abt backdoor)


So I dont think official admission is easy at WE @ 80%

Also, those who take admission might also be leaving when they get a better deal in CAP rounds

My frnds have told me that at some colls seniors openly told them @ gdpi rounds how to cofirm admission

THis News abt the raids is very old,one newspaper has reported The director is up for reelection, so his opponents have done that, we are gonna come out after 2 yrs, maybe at that time who knows wich bschool is gonna be raided??

@yamahayzfr1:The Main reason that students with high scores apply to WE is because they do Very good Advertising,Marketing (Its not the kind of marketing that **** does).The marketing is subtle,low profile yet can be differentiated and attracts the top brass.Secondly Most of these top scorer's are freshers and are desperate,or students who do not want to do job after their graduation and directly take admission to MBA.
Secondly there is a constant fear that 'What if I get the same marks next year or even less?' or 'What if I dont get WE next time I try??'.............
Everyone including U & Me have these kind of fears after the Results.....................But this should not be a Reason to choose WE,Even if 5 students out of 100 students(Who are in range of 94-98/99%) apply to WE the seats(of WE) get filled like hot cakes.
Hence this scenario will always prevail in a perfectly competitive Environment................This should not be the criterion to select any school that puts up highly inflated Placement Statistics with some self added good recruiters on their website.
Hope I have answered your question!!!..............Please talk to the students studying there (Dont ask unknown guys on Web since everyone is told to praise their college its a marketing gimmick...........ask some of your friends studying there)

Guys lets not fight. Let me share with you a very horrific stories of WE that i have heard ,Its now official that the college accepts a large number of students through donations.
WE Director's house was Raided by the IT department,and the best part is an EX-WE student had lodged a complaint against him.

I had talked to the seniors and junior batch students and they have openly admitted this thing saying "Itna to sabhi college mein hota hai,par yahan par kuch jyada hi hai".Many students are repenting over their decision.
Not only that the international summer placement and international "Study" tours are less of "Education" and more of a paid vaccation.On top of it the exchange programmes are expensive i mean really expensive!!
Many students are not placed during their final placements,the specialized programmes that WE offers is not upto the mark and the placements for these programmes are a bigger disaster.

Coming back to the raids the students now fear that their placements would be affected big time.It is rumored that many companies are going away from WE.
They have now started marketing & Advertising their college in a big way.They are also talking with big magazines and websites to improve their rankings.It Would be fun to watch the next rankings for WE in the magazines & Websites.If you Find their rank in Top 10 or for that matter TOP 25 B-Schools ............Click 'THANK' for this post ;);)

What we shud consider is if the school is offering what we want, compared to other schools at our score.
we cant worry about if some other guy with less % is gettin admission by payin, coz that is gonna happen everywhere, there is an official management quota.Also, many of WEschool's courses like Retail management are not AICTE approved, so their cutoffs might be very very less. Honestly, below 95% dont expect good Bschools
WEschool have no shortage of applicants , trust me on that, even after the Raids, it will not be easy to get into their flagship course

Actually yamaha, tell me where wud u go? JB, sydenham, WEschool and somaiya, the top 4 thru cet close at 99% JB and Sydenham dont have non CAP admissions, so if u are not getting there, where do u go tell me?

and i said u the least score that may be money or something else but records recoreded once will stay forever
and undoubtedly we school is one of the top b schools and who said no !
but i am just stating the facts

and pls note that that we school got lot of specialisations and it is good for a mechanical engineer to pot here . unless and untill u wanan have ur mba from mumbai go for this . my opinion is no tot his b-school
as the it boom is up all percentiles will get reverse this yr as the major mba seekers(engg students) will not opt for higher studies

U will recieve a call in April depending on your marks, u can enter both marks. What has oms gotta do with it, hope you are not confusing this with MMS

in case of admission to welingkar pgdm course it accept mh cet also then if an oms student want to get admission through the mh cet has given cat then what will be the admission process and when will it start after the delceration of mh cet result or before that?

Neeraj, U can fill the form now, and when Mhcet forms are out U can edit it online, WE school has that system, no need to wait

Khanjan, WESchool is very much worth applying unless u want only IIMs, XLRI,FMS IIFT, placements are good, Their highest placement to date was 25 lacs, i think that was 2 yrs ago, see the mandatory disclosure for more details

There are many ambiguous infomation in the market about Welingkar.

One more thing as far as Specialisation is concern do you really think that college teaches you the entire finance. The curriculum does not even cover 40%. Just saying finance would be vague. There are hell lots of sections and abundance of profiles in finance. So dont think about it at this point of time.

Apart from placement and all try to understand how much college is reputed amongst industries placement will fall in place obviously.

Can we have at least one Senior who can help us on this?

not sure about placements, so won't comment on it...
the cut-offs were around 83%ile...my friend got a call at that..

as far as I know, it's a yes(the dates will extend)...however, you never know...be on the safer side and if u wanna go for it, fill the form...consult them on the helplines and I guess you will be allowed to submit the proof later on..

The application forms of welingkar pgdm course (both mumbai and bengalaru campus) are out..
They accept cat/xat/atma/mhcet scores. The last date for registration is 24th dec.

I have some queries to the seniors. Plz sum1 tell me how is college (mumbai campus) as in terms of curriculum, placement, infrastructure? I m planning to opt for finance as a specialisation.. Is it worthy to apply for it.
