The above series is N^3+ N...10 = 2^3+ 2
The below series seems N^3+N^2...or N^2(N+1)...starting from 2 again...

12= 2^3+ 2^2

so C should be 5 square + 5 cube = 150

Difference between terms is decreasing in the order of cubes...starting with 6 cube

897 - 681 = 216...6 cube
681 - 556 = 125...5 cube
556 - 492 = 64.....4 cube and so on....

Do the same for below series...you want d...so add 216 + 125 +64 +27 = 432

815 - 432 = 383

My take here is D as well..

Celebrities say they find work antidote to stress and not Being overloaded with work... there is a subtle difference...as both things talk about two different things.

My take:
Let n1 be revolutions of front wheel & n2 be that of rear wheel

now we know n2/n1 = 40/48 = 5/6

Give n1-n2 =5

n1 -5/6 n1 = 5 => n1 = 30

For 1 rev Front Wheel covers 40 ft, thus for 30 rev = 1200 :|

My take :

Front wheel does 1 revolution for 40m
Back wheel does 1 revolution per 48m

Back wheel travels 8m more per revolution.
It will travel 40m more per 5 revolutions which is eqvt to one extra revolution of front wheel.

So for 5 more such extra revolutions, distance travelled by back wheel = 48x5x5 = 1200m.

Dear aspirants,

Hope this finds you in good spirit. My intention is not to bore you with addition to strategic gyan that floats around when CET is near, but to tell you few things that I have realized over a period of time when it comes to CET.

This is the time to wish you all the best and give some last-minute words of wisdom (If I may)

1. Enough of traditional preparation and mocks. This is the time to go through all the previous mocks, important notes, tips and tricks. Visit your old mocks, see where you made mistakes, what you could have done to avoid them. Focus on your strengths and keep your areas of weaknesses at the back of the mind. Dont get tempted by questions which might look easy on their face-value and end of wasting time on them.
At the same time, Dont study anything new now. There is no point. but personal suggestion, dont leave a particular area altogether. at-least you should be aware of the basics. It will always come handy in worst case scenario.

2. Strategy have a back up strategy. I am sure all of you have some strategy in mind, but its always advisable to have a realistic picture of its possible failure. Frame in mind what you gonna do if paper is too difficult or too easy. have a plan B.

3. Avoid distractions and temptations in next two days. Think of CET as the last exam of the season and put a definitive end to it. Dont get tensed at the same time don be casual about it. Be serious. 2012 CET is going to be the last CET. so why not give the best shot at it?

4. Dont assume anything with respect to CET difficulty level. (CET 2007 difficult, CET 08,09 moderate, CET 10 easy, CET 11 difficult.in short no particular pattern) Dont get into mode of speculation.

5. Success in all these tests is relative. When you are solving the paper, the only thing of your concern is your own paper, attempts and accuracy. The paper is going to be same for everyone, so there is no point pondering over what might be the cutoff during the exam. Your strategy is Maximum possible attempts in minimum possible time with maximum possible accuracy
6. On Saturday, do some light questions here and there, or five sprints of 40 questions so that you dont lose focus. Read important things and relax. Take sufficient rest. On Sunday, pray! Please reach at the venue in time. Take someone with you, it helps in getting rid of the anxiety. Carry all the prerequisites with you such as hall-ticket, application, water, watch, identity proof, extra pens etc. Enter all the details carefully. Dont panic. During the test, mark OMR carefully.


Nothing more from my side. Give your best shot. CET is you against yourself. Go and just do it. If you have worked hard before and do justice to the paper in those 2.5 hours, I am sure you will end up winning.

Friday & Saturday last minutes before CET!

Dont take any more mocks you have solved enough mocks
If you want retake the mocks where you have scored good. It will be a great confidence booster to see your score zooming past your average
Laugh on the mistakes you have done or simple questions you left and make a mental note of not repeating the same mistake again
No new topics. dont waste your time on solving any new topics especially the one you are weak in
Revise a few concepts and formulae, foolproof strategies that you have developed for overall mocks and individual topics
Make mental maps of your exam centre and plan how you are going to travel to the centre
Watch movies that make your adrenaline rush! This will motivate you.
Ensure that you get a good nights sleep on last few days before CET.

Still confused with 1st ques ...:(

Let me try explaining another time step by step:

Time is 10 + 4:30 = 2:30 pm

At 2:30 both hands are few degrees apart.
Starting from 6 (where longer hand is) to mark of 3, we have 90 degrees.
From 3 to the point between 2 and 3 (where shorter hand is) it measures about 15 degrees.

So total difference is 105 degrees. See this if you still have doubts.

With longer hand leading shorter hand. Right?

Directions are 45 degrees apart : N-NE-E-SE-S-SW-W-NW.

Start with longer hand and move 105 degrees.
00 - NE
45 - N
90 - NW
105 - 15 degrees away from NW, but 30 degrees away from W.

(Hence I wrote NW at first, then got confused and made if W in post above :banghead:

For the first one, there are separate rank lists for all india seats and maharashtra state seats. You can opt for college of your choice based on which list can get you there. You may mail DTE for further clarification of allotment rules this year.

Second question I cant answer. Not unless we see actual CET paper. But based on your ranks, you seem to have a very good chance of making it. BTW ,if you can, try another mock from another source, so that there is no doubt in your mind.

It has to be (pie*r +2*r).

Perimeter means sum of length of sides, so pie*r (for circular part its)+ 2*r (for diameter)

It has to be pie*R

For eg = Radis of a circle is 2 then circumference: 2*pie*r = 4* pie = 12.56...

Circumference of Semi Circle = 2*Pie = 6.28...

But as per " ( pie*r + 2*r) "= ( 2*pie + 4 ) = 10.28.... which is not possible

Suppose the semicircle is actually a garden with a path along the borders.
You are taking a walk and if you are to calculate the total distance traveled, then won't you consider the path which is equal to 2r?

The conversion method you mentioned has very slim chances of being implemented in cet.

Traditionally, percentiles have been considered. But since cmat has ranks, they might either calculate percentile based on ranks or directly award you cet marks of equivalent rank.

Is your friend the Chairperson, Admissions at the DTE?? If no, I don't see any reason why you should believe him/her...

Even in simple terms, the logic is highly flawed because there would be very few people who would score close to 300 in CMAT whereas if the CET paper is on the lines of 2010, there might be many who would score 150+ in CET...And what if someone scores, say 291 in CMAT...Would he/she get 145.5 in CET??

So far, DTE has also considered CAT scores...The method that is followed is that the percentile one obtains in CAT, if it is higher than that obtained in CET, is taken as the candidate's percentile in CET...This is the first time that CET is also taking CMAT score...So wait for the official stand and

Yes this is the last time that the CET is being conducted...Next year onwards, admissions to CET-affiliated institutes would be done on the basis of CMAT scores...

Even this year, for OMS candidates, best of the scores of CAT/CMAT/MHCET would be considered
