@abhishek I am scoring OA 60.25 for SNAP and I have already applied for SSBM. Do I stand a chance? I know last year the cut off was 78+ but I feel my score wouldn't qualify to make it even if the cut off is reduced significantly.

I am really sorry but the percentile can not just SHOOT UP as the paper was tougher this year(also ambiguous)...so it will remain the same (if not decrease).

I would like to know though about the campus location?
Being a banking specific college do only banks recruit from SSBM?

The campus is located at Lavale hills, the campus has office of SIU, SIBM, SITM, SSBM and SIMC.

And its not that only banks recruit students, even NBFC's and consulting companies do visit to the campus.

As ssbm is a new college but you can bank on this college as surely this clz is going to be Jewell of symbiosis university.
As i hv come to know that there avg package is somewhere around 6.5 lakh .......
so don't bother about placement

first of all , we have a batch strength of 60 and not 50 . i appreciate your decision of leaving your job for higher studies . now , as far as SSBM is concerned , it is undoubtedly one of the best options for those seeking careers in banking and finance . you are absolutely true in assuming that we cant disclose the exact placement stats but as off now ,all i can say is , that the placements are going great for both seniors and juniors (summer internships) .. you can really apply to the college if you are genuinely interstd in the BFSI . i did badly in snap and expect only 80+. :banghead::splat: i am little frustrated that i have already spend a lot on symbiosis application. so bit confused if i should go for ssbm. i am yet to pay the fees. i do understand that the college is good from fb and pg links.also 50 student batch seems to be an advantage. the only issue is that the college is relatively new and no placement data is available.:-(
so guys i think the placement for the 1st batch started in nov. can u guys provide the stats so far. plz don't tell me that it is against college rules.:biggrin:
any idea the kind of profile & salary that will be offered to lateral guys ?

it is little difficult for me to apply to many colleges and i want to make it sure that for the colleges i apply i must be in a position to join it. i have applied to NIBM too. Plz advice

For sure dude,

You have a great score for ST candidate, you could also aim for SIIB & SCMHRD, SIBM-B, not so sure of SIBM P

Hey Anoop,

I think you should apply for it. There are chances that you may get a call. The websites which predict do vary a lot so, I feel you should not miss a chance to get yourself selected in SSBM.

Give it a shot. This is the prediction you are having. U have a chance that your actual score may lie above the cut off of this year.

Hey,

Mba in banking is a specialized course for banking as a career. its pretty different than MBA finance obviously. The course has more dedicated subjects on banking which even covers the major topics in MBA -finance from any reputed college.

As, the rigor of the course is equivalent to any other college, you would find it challenging and as far as your placements are concerned, u will be eligible to get into finance sector both on the basis of knowledge and apptitide.

And , as a fresh venture I would rate 8 on 10 if u rate other colleges 10 on 10 with their kind of experience.

i do not want to sound bugging but still at my end am not clear with my confusion,may be i have not been able to put up my query properly.


1.gd/pi calls are profile based or solely snap score based.


2.as you said 2011-2013 batch has only 35% work ex people as well as you said they prefer people with work ex( hope i have not misunderstood your statement).so work is a mandatory compulsion or fresher given same scope to prove themselves during gd/pi.

Hello,

Let me put it this way.
Step 1: if you have applied to SSBM after taking SNAP and you end up getting more marks than the cut off , you are called for the process.

Step 2: You will undergo the four rounds as mentioned and your credentials are all checked and verified.

Step 3: There is a section which allocates marks for your work experience and it is graded on the no. of months you have worked.

Step 4: A Cumulative score is prepared adding scores of SNAP, four rounds and your credentials including work experience. There is a specific weightage for every sectioned mentioned.

Step 5: Final calls are given to the top 50 students , distributing them as per their quota of cast. Also a wait list is prepared for the next 20 students.

Step 6: If a student fails to join SSBM, the list moves up with addition of students from the wait list.

I hope this might give you a clear picture of the process.

I am very much keen on joining this inst i know its a new inst so far no placement nothing has been done but still i love banking.so can you please enlighten me more about the selection criteria and is there any official announcement about the selection process like sibm p or sitm or siib etc..

The first batch has 70% experience people with a lot of them having IT experience and banking experience even. But the second batch has 35% experience people with the mix of experience almost the same.

The process after SNAP was a bit different than other colleges of Symbiosis family.
