Greetings from Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management!!
Hope all of you are enjoying the break and waiting eagerly to start a new
phase of your life.
Here are certain important points that you should be aware of when joining
college.
1. The date of joining is 16th July, 2009. You can come to the college
a
day before as the hostel rooms will be allotted by then. The details of
the hostel will be put up on the main gate of IIT Bombay. Accommodation,
registration and related information will also be updated on the website.
Candidates are requested to arrange accommodation on their own for their
parents/ guardians, accompanying them.
2. When joining the college please ensure that you get all the
certificates that you may have obtained till date. These will be required
when you are preparing your resume for various opportunities. The strict
verification policy followed would be already clear to you from the
admissions process.
3. You need to pay at the time of registration an additional amount of
Rs
17,000 (in cash) towards institute security deposits (Rs 5000), mess
security deposit (Rs 2000) and Semester mess advance (Rs 10000). There are
4 ATM's in and around the campus in case you don't want to carry hard
cash.
4. For international candidates, at the time of registration, an
additional amount of ($150 + Rs 24500 in cash) (Security Deposits ($150 +
Rs 12500), (Mess Advance, Rs 2000), (Semester Mess Advance and Misc.
Expenses, Rs 10,000).
5. Finance Continuum and Marketing Continuum, the premier seminar
series
of SJMSOM,IIT B, are being scheduled for 18th and 19th July, 2009
respectively.
a. Attendance to the event is compulsory
b. You are required to compulsorily wear western formals for the event.
Western Formals consist of Full Shirt, Trousers and Jackets/Blazers. Men
are required to wear Ties too.
c. Both the events are a full day affair and professional conduct is
expected.
6. A laptop deal is being worked out for the new candidates. Details of
the same are available with you senior Mr. Mukul Kejriwal at
mukul.kejriwal@iitb.ac.in7. A Bulk Suit deal is also being worked out. You will be detailed
about
the same once you reach the campus.
8. For the candidates who are planning to take loan from SBI/HDFC are
requested to get in contact with your senior Mr Raveesh Mohan at
raveeshmohan@iitb.ac.in9. An assignment has been planned for the candidates, wherein, you are
expected to compulsorily read three books of the list attached and carry a
write-up on any two of the three selected (Write up:750 words)
