The PI is a cakewalk. Takes around 5mins on an average (mine lasted around 20 though)
They're just going to ask you questions related to your specialisation- why do you want to take up AV/PR/whatever, do you know what it involves, do you have any past experience, your interests, etc etc...


Once I'm home, I can post a detailed report of the conversation I had with KJK, if it'll help...

PS- They didn't once ask to look at my portfolio

Hi... just got back home from the SIMC experience.

1. the test- a 2 hr test where most submitted their papers within an hour. Had an essay, around 20 sentence constructions and a lot of arbit general grammer and GK questions. No marks for each sction per say was mentiones.

2. The GD... not much room for a fish market as each person has to speak for 1 minute, and then around 5 minutes for everyone to "discuss". Around 8 people in every group.

3. The PI... well, each candidate is given only around 5 minutes fr the PI... yes, it IS rather short. But the panel is extremely friendly, no stress. Questions could range from anywhere between your career choice to ur opinion about the pak cricket fuss.

You need to decide your specialization before hand, and have to mention so.

Ive got calls from SIMC and MICA. Now, both in their mails/ call letters havent asked for any certis and stuff. Is this a normal norm? This is my 1st set of interviews so I really dont know. Are we expected to carry certis and get work- experince proof?

Im askin coz getting my acad certis is quite acumbersome process right now, and I should probably utilize those 3 -4 days in preparing better.

I guess you should carry them along, to be on the safer side...
But judging by the way they've kept us to "informed" throughout this process, doesn't look like they'd care

i called up SIMC thrice..heres wat they said

1-yes -all 3 days
2- no-only 1 day but that will be notified when u come on the first day
3-No-only 1 day (this was told by the peon)

so i guess everyone has to reach on the first day of their slot.

As Calls are on 1st of Feb there is no time for preperation .... further more none of the institute if giving coaching for SCMHRD....

Hence we as a group of 5-6 people are conducting a workshop on SCMHRD with full fledge 6 rounds og GD/PIs....... on 29th ie sunday ie today....

it is being conducted at one of our friend's home in nerul new mumbai so quite informal type.... we are calling a professional GD/PI conductor and he is charging quite a lot... so we have decided to make the workshop paid.... its 300rs for it quite payable...


we are limiting the no of people to around 12 so please register immidiately with Gauri gauri_j3@yahoo.com or undersigned.....

we have some friends coming from Mira road and Santacruz too....

im kinda confused..the processing of SIMC is very slow... does anyone know wht r the reporting timings???

my cd works fine... ts a 5 min clip of various students who made in big names.. to give a student point of view....

abt the dates.. even im baffled whn an how they r gonna intimate.....

better ask ur travel agent to hold a few seats in consecutive days trains

Got a call at 58.75 and pleased as punch. MICA was my dream institute and I couldn't make it through cos I messed up CAT with 48 percentile which was a massive blow cosidering that I had 93 percentile last time. Anyway, More than happy if I could get into SIMC. Seems to be a reputed institute.

Sorry bout you guys who are in the range of 50 and still couldn't make it. Last year in CAT, I had 95 in English, 91 in DI and a measely 48 in QA. Damn these sectional cutoffs. Well if you heard Amitabh on Koffee with Karan "Man ka ho to achha. Man ka na ho to aur bhi achha". Maybe life has something better in store for you. Keep working.

Are there any SIMC students on this forum? Please tell us about the perils ahead and how we should prepare. what books to read etc etc. Please chp in so we can get in.

.....and remember a man who doesn't spend enough time with his TV can never be a good AD man.

Hopefully someone can throw a light on the next round and also whats the instt like??? As far as my knowledge goes, it comes at the bottom of the list-SCMHRD, SIIB, SCIT/SITM and then SIMC...and bein in this instt basically means that ure encashing on Symbi's name...But these are jus my views ..which I really hope are wrong as I've got a call as well

Being in 50's & not getting a call is indeed very strange.

Regarding 2nd list-

On 18th when i checked my result on the SIMC website,it read as-
"Click here for 1st shortlist"

& at the end on the shortlist page "2nd shortlist wil be out soon"

But surprisingly,there is/was no such message since yesterday 9 pm...dunno wat that means.

well guys cudn't make it to da list wid a score of 54.5 dat was quite a shock..neways dat indicates there were sum sectional cutt offs..had screwed up gk...

I got thru with a score of 46...it was not cut off of 40 but sectional cut off that mattered for the. PPl with excellent score in reasoning GK and Verbal made it to the list....anways see ya oin pUNE ppl!
