I have a good news. I know a senior at SIMC. I talked to her right now. She said that SIMC director is changed recently thats why they have changed the criteria for selection. Today was a meeting with the new director and he said that from this year seats for MBA are increased to 600. She was not sure that this increased seats are for pune itself or pune or banglore combined. but definitely there is a increase in seats. so definitely there will be a second merit list. and 1 thing more they also changed the selection criteria from now there will not be any assignments. keval GD/PI hoga ya kuch aur bhi hoga nahi pata but assignment nahi hoga

thats sadly funny! i think more than the second merit list... we should strt looking for the already present first merit list! Lets start a treasure hunt for the merit lists man lol where is it ?!!

Btw niharika... if wot ur saying is correct... its very disappointing cz den it leaves SIMC no different from the rest of the B - schools.... first of all, all applicants should be sure "WHY" they are applyin to SIMC! its not regular management... without any assignments... d screening process makes it no diff frm other mgmt schools... its d assignmnts and activities that help in ascertaining the seriousness of each applicant in SIMC.... *sigh* guess SIMC has strtd followin the rat race too Disappointing! very disappointing!

This is regarding the inavailablity of the Shortlisted Candidates list on the official website....
It's wierd that d list is not available anymore? does this mean they are revising the original list? even the shortlisted candidates havent been mailed or been contacted wid respect to their assignments.... its so unprofessional on the part of an international University to behave this way... why all these speculations and uncertainty...

P.S. btw i heard the director, Ujjwal Chowdhary resigned just 4-5 days before the results were announced and the instt is being chaired by the SIBM pune director for the time being... makes sense when we see a rise in the cut offs this year

the simc site has been down for half the day...and now when it has opened up the gd/pi list has been removed frm the site

If possible try to shift your test centre city to Pune, this might help somewhat.

yes it was a 3 day process until last year.. the admission process was held along with fest o comm (SIMC's annual fest).
IIRC the gd pi for MBA candidates was held on feb 7 8 9 . and MMC candidates was feb 4 5 6.
I guess dates might clash with NMAT this year if gd pi is held during that period again this year . But i am not giving NMAT :grin:
We have to arrange for our own accomodation.

Mail them ASAP and keep trying to get in touch with them. Also check from your side if you had applied for the institute but still you should have recieved the mail for snap score. Please check your spam box as well, Good luck!

Please advise what approach should we follow to prepare for the GD PI. And a group effort here can really help to dig out all the odds. We are a bit lucky as the cut off is exceptionally high and still made it, Though SIMC has always been my first and the last choice. Personally, I want to tap this opportunity and i believe everyone out there having the same objective.

Please provide your in depth inputs that can serve everyone's purpose, which is to get the final call. Looking forward towards a nice stay at pagalguy with all of you! cheers!

In case of a 3day GD-PI process, we have to be present in the lavale campus from 9am to 9pm on all three days. Last year, buses were available from Senapati Bapat Road campus, and they also took back candidates and parents at 9pm to the same spot. Parents were too welcome. We are supposed to make our own arrangements for accommodation.
I hope this clarifies your doubts !!!

Yes last yr the post snap process was a 3 day affair...the gd pi was merged with their college festival goin on parallely..with lot of sessions by esteemed corporate professionals and actors...including farooq sheikh
Candidates had to attend all the sessions on all 3 days since the GD/PI process involved Q's from the sessions.the selection process involved

1. Home Assignments-which will b uploaded on the website in a week
   
2. Personal Interview - faculty and industry guys
   
3. Group Discussion - involved a topic used conducted in one of the session
   
4. Peer Interview- interview by coll seniors
   

But this yr if simc follows the same selection process cannot b assured ..since the formula for gd pi list has been changed completely and even for sibm pune the cut offs hav been raised abnormaly....but mostly it wud b on des lines...only the college festival and the sessions may change...but the interviews,GD's and home assignments wud b there for sure

First, how is the MBA in Adv like, the future prospect.
Secondly, how is the placements like, it is not mentioned in brochure.

I am from Hyderabad. Shortlisted for SIMC Adv course. Well, i haven't received any email yet. Any clue when are emails rolled out usually? The GD/PI schedule as per their website says 1st-10th Feb. Can any seniors or co-applicants help me in understanding what does a home assignment mean? Thanks in advance.
Also, one suggestion guys.. why don't we start roll some topics for GD/PI and discuss among ourselves to see and improve our thought process?
