You dont need a bike on "campus"!
U can keep one to travel to the city though. The first year hostel is not on campus, its approx 100 mtrs away. So there you can park your bike. In case of our seniors, the cops sometimes towed the bikes away cos the parking is outside the hostel premises. But no such incident for our Batch, so its quite ok to bring along your two wheeler!

Sorry to say but SIIB does NOT assist in gettin student loans. We have an SBI Branch on campus, but still.
I tried a lot last year, but dint work. So You will have to do it from your home town. Its mainly because the parents need to do all the work, so they check the credentials of the parents. Even if you are working, the parents need to be the guaranters.
Even I had the same issue last year. What I did, and you could try this too..
1. Pay the first installment by yourself. Borrow money, break an FD, ask parents however.
2. tell yr folks/friend to get a loan form frm the bank. Prefrbly frm a PSU, like SBI or PNB, the interest rates r 2-3% lower. Ask them to fill the details up.
3. Ask folks/friend in hometown to fix up a date when you can come and sign the forms. You HAVE to go back cos you and yr folks have to sign the forms IN THE PRESENCE of the the Bank authorities. here you will miss a couple of days of college.
4. Ask the Bank will issue the first installment cheque in your name, cos you have already paid the college.:clap:

i guess it is the easiest to get it from your home town even better if you get the loan from a branch where you have an account .Are u sure getting the loan from Pune is ur only Option ?

dont worry just call up the office and ask them to send it via email . But even otherwise i just received the hard copy with the proforma . so chill .

Hey guys....I have received both the e-mail & letter yesterday....The e-mail mentions only about admission confirmation and does not have any attachments regarding proforma to be sent along with DD.....the letter has everything needed hence the letter is more important than the e-mail....If any1 of u who has got thru & is yet to receive their letter plz call siib at the earliest ......

Just wanted to know if any of you guys are applying for an education loan?
Are you planning to apply for it from Pune?

I don't have any time to do it from Bangalore since I will only get a release from my employer by the 5th. I'll be leaving on the 6th & reaching Pune on the 7th.

SBI requires you to apply for an Edu loan from your parent's residence city. I Don't have time to go to Delhi now.

Anybody already applied for the loan? If yes, can you tell me abt the process to go abt it & how to get all the details.. What all banks are good options in or outside Pune?

Would really appreciate it.

@cancercat - Yes dude.. I got the mail yesterday. Have to pay the initial deposit by 3rd June.

called up siib... and asked them to send me declaration proforma at my mail.
just now got d mail having that form. DD and this declaration proforma needs to be send...
so i'll advice to individually call admissions office, tell ur name and ask to send the form via email..

I had converted my WL(69) but will not be joining (after much deliberation). SO enjoy till col starts and good luck for the 2 yrs ahead and after as well

I called up SIIB around 5 pm and they told me that its cleared till 82 and the next update would be on 3rd june.Congrats to everybody who got thru...and please keep the waitlisters updated if u wish to join so that we know where we stand.

All Puys who have secured their admission by sending the DD..

1 small doubt..
Do we have to send the Demand Draft along with a copy of the admission e-mail that we got or with the hard copy of the letter that has been sent to us by courier today?
