I already said in my post that I dint meant to offend any community or person. But the shortlist itself says the truth. And as I said, I know one south Indian Guy from Kandivali who was in my GD and he didnt uttered a single word through out the GD process, his Dec. MAT Score was 80.1, but his name is in second merit list. Can u please justify how is it possible?

Secondly, if for a moment I take your point that shortlisting was pretty transparent, then what u have to say abt the incident that took place during my second round of interview? Also if you see last year's students list of SIESCOMS in their mandatory disclosure, you'll find that more than 90% students are either from Mumbai, or from other metro cities. So its pretty evident that these people dont give a damn to tier2, tier3 cities' students. No matter how good the student might be. And to prove this, one of my friends from Dewas(MP) got shortlisted for IIFT but not for the SIESCOMS, and he also faced same sort of interview as I did.

Third, kindly tell me why only SIESCOMS is facing such a heat over its selection procedure and why other clgs of equal repute have smoothly sailed over the admission procedure.

I again say that I never intended to offend anybody or any community. My sole point is against the policy of the institute giving preference to some people over others.

i am from mp and was selected in very first merit list........they have the procedure of outsoursing the results due to which they take time every year.....my friend even had fablous gd and pi but was dissapointed by results but now his name is in the 3rd list(he too from M.p.)...please do understand it is not the mistake of college if variation in the marks between the candidates are less...if u had good gd and pi there may be some one who had 2..........but he may have scored some becoz of writen test some becoz. of past academic performance........i had fablous gd and pi for simc but was dissapointed when saw results but now my name is in the 3rd list........i tell u guys at such a large scale difference of marks is minute.......i m also not south indian.........neither my friend but he is happy after watchin his name in 3rd list dat ther is variation....only one thing we figure out iz dat this year they have taken written test aswell into consideration as many who had wonderful gd and pi but dint do well in written tes(despite gud mat/cat score) have not been selected............as far as heat is considered plz. do visit other forums as well every colg face this after results

one info i would like to add here.. from the same guy who sent an sms saying that those who want to add their names in 1st list or 2nd list blah blah.. has messaged again now with welingkar name included ...for taking admission in first list of the same... i have the proof.. so now i think its pretty clear that the guy is again some third party counselor who is in the spree of making money... no point in pointing out siescom for that:nono:

I am not sure about sies fees for mms....About pumba and sies...I feel that sies has a bit of an edge over pumba for sure. Locational advantage, quality of students, curriculum(especially finance) and placements too...

Check Pumba summer placement brochure and check the companies ppl interned in..you will get what I am trying to say especially finance..Banks like CBI,BOB recruited for summer internships in sies...Plus real good placements too this year is what i hear...

I have alredy converted PGDM @ sies..Have 135 in cet ..home uni: Pune... So will surely get Pumba and mostly sies mms too..Will join sies in that case...

hey sorry to say, but no1 can predict the list man, as it depends on the number of people out of that 40odd in the second list NOT OPTING FOR SIESCOMS, in ur case u want 10 ppl to back out so dat u get a chance, thats the most simple and the only equation available, u canot rely or work out any other source...

Although being optimistic through out and having high regards for SIESCOMS, somewhere down the line I am getting a feeling that the whole admission process is being from Transparent to --> Translucent to --> Opaque. And there are number of reasons why i am feeling like that :-

1) Majority of the selections are either from maharashtra or the persons who are South Indian (No offence to any community). As there is atleast one person I know in the merit list who was in my GD Group and he didnt spoke a single word during GD, and was a South Indian living in Kandivali.

2) As I hail form a tier 2 city of MP, and this point was very notoriously pointed out by the interviewer during my second round of interview. He very bluntly asked me why people of tier2 and tier 3 cities of other States come to mahrashtra & Mumbai in particular, and spoil the atmosphere? What you people think is so special about mahrashtra & Mumbai?
My answer to him was pretty straight forward. I said that "Mumbai being one of the biggest port city of country is an ideal hub for any kind of Business and thats what attracts the most. And its pretty fortunate for Indians that Mumbai lies in Maharashtra and in the end it doesnt matter in which state Mumbai lies because Mumbai if for every Indian. But its unfortunate for the local politicians and people who are supporting the ideologies of these so called political goons that their whole political propoganda is not giving results the way they thought it'd have given.
And I was stunned to hear the last sentence of my interview. The Interviewer said - "I wish all the very best to you and to other candidates like you coming from these states. Because there is very little scope left(I dont know of what sort of scope he was talking abt). And I wish Mumbai remains a peaceful city. You can move out of this room. Thank you very much".

When I enquired abt the interviewer from the moderators I was even more surprised to know that he was from the ******* department. And further the moderators told me that its quite normal here these days. You have to work really hard even to be considered average if you are from any state other than Maharashtra. (PS :- As was told by one of the PGDM Senior hailing from Rajasthan)

3) The result took almost 2 months and 10 days to come out. I dont know what made them to take such a long time. Even the schools better than this and poorer than this dont take more than 25 days to declare the result. And during that time they always acted suspicious.

4) Firstly its very hard to have a word with them on phone. And secondly if you are fortunate enough to hear some voice from the other side, they'll simply make you feel that they are obliging you by talking to you. And God forbid if you ask anything about the merit list they'll simply hangup the phone.

Being such a respected college its quite astonishing to see that its in the middle of such controversy. I mean you'll never find b-schools of equal repute or having higher repute than SIESCOMS in such situation and who keeps on acting suspiciously through out the admission process.

Again no offense to any person or community. SIESCOMS is still one of my dream colleges and I always will have high respect to the quality mangers it is churning out.

last year minority seats cut offs was 151..strictly on merit..
ILS last yr cut offs was 80..so u can judge...

ils seat cutoff was 80 marks plus the donation of 10-15lacs, and its is the case in all the collages havin management quota! but somaiya has removed mgmt quota on donation basis and put it on merit basis since last 2 yrs!!! and i dont think there is preference given to any caste or community, cos wen the 1st list was out sum1 said that " i hav verified and sies gives preference to outstation students" wer as after the wait list is out sum1 said that "i hav verified that sies gives preference to maharashtra students"
look i have no offences against any PUY, we all are a part of this family and here to help each other, but if siescoms was non transparent then it wouldnot hav kept its position in top 10 consistently over the years, v hav a similar collage CHETNA in the list, but its not able to enter top 10 league of cet based collages and the reason 4 it is their NON TRANSPARENT admission process!!
i wish ALL DA BEST to all those who hav been selected and may they hav a bright future and get placed in big shot companies, and to others LIKE ME, who hav not been selected, just wait puys, WE SURELY WILL GET WHAT WE DESERVE

1. Can I submit a completely filled form downloaded from the SIES website or do I need to purchase the form from the office?
   
2. What is the total fees for the programme over a period of two years?
   
3. What is the last date for submission of the form and the final CET score card?
   
4. According to the given guidelines, is there any specific format in which I have to submit an afidavit for me being a linguistic minority student? Do i need to submit an afidavit while submitting the form itself or is a simple declaration on a plain paper enough?
   
5. On what basis is the merit rank for Institute level seats decided?
   
6. Is there any donation or any additional fee that is requied to be paid if admission via institute level seats is secured?

Hey all i am from delhi and i came to mumbai to check with college personally if i can get admitted in PGDM with donation but this year as per college registrar admissions are just on merit basis as last year there was an income tax raid in college and things went wrong so as per the registrar college will just give admissions in PGDM on merit basis.....

please puys do not spread any rumors right from placement figures to the capitation amount. for your information SBI RBI ASIAN PAINTS and many other reputed banks and other organizations came for recruitment this time .. Most notably the summers are going good right from central bank of India to bank of Baroda and many other banks and other organizations took many candidates. i came to know all these things only from our seniors .. people who have already made it can join the orkut community to really know whats the scenario in siescoms right now. Two very nice seniors are helping us over there hope mods are watching this thread

i think its really a sorry for all of us spreading uncountable rumours when they have mentioned the figures of placement on ther website for year 2009.....it was a recession year despite which avg. placement is given 5.5 lakhs (lowest 3 and highest 9.5) plz visit website and click the placement after selecting pgdm option...........plz. dont spoil name of the college....and u all should agree on" what is mentioned on site must be authentic as it can be questioned at any time".........this year it shuld be more than 5.5(speculation)....as i have heard from one one of the friends from siescom dat most people are sayin dat they hav got either 6.5 or 7............if u can see one of the previous post where the link of last years cutoffs of cet is given than u wuld find that cutoff of sies was equal to kjsoumya last year and more than we school for home universities...this clearly indicates sies imprvement in terms of public approval and reliance

Lets not compare college placements w.r.t cet /cat percentile score.A good cat/cet scorer will nt necessarily earn the highest package in the college.There are other factors which are most important in determining the placements stats of a coll eg: branding,quality of students , quality of faculty,industry feedback,reputation,location ..etc , how can a cet/cat percentile can be the only factor of comparision between 2 colleges.

So lets not compare the college cutoffs wrt some other college,its only the initial stage for a student to grab a seat in that institute,rest its jus the 2 yrs journey of one's mba life that decides his destiny.:)

hmmm 12 lakhs iz 2 much...i didn't know one day i hv 2 think 4 paying 12 l jst for nt filling d form of d respective institute nyway i m jst thinking 4 it n if such a hefty amount is needed,i think i shd think over it again..n ppl say most of these consultants r fraud,don't know its true or not......but watsoevr prob iz still d same n dat is why noone picks up d phn at siescoms,i m tired dialing n dialing all d phn nos.but noone iz ready 2 pick up d phn :D....nyways thanx 4 ur info dear.

Then you can also do what i am planning to do i.e. prepare for entrance once again and give the best shot next year..... its either pay or get in or perform or get in....Good luck

SIES PGDM management quota seats require donation of around 12 lakhs i spoke with a consultant and he said give 12 lakhs and admission done so those who are lookin for management quota seats through donation contact the college directly and should get admission done with donation of 10 - 12 lakhs......

i think its really a sorry for all of us spreading uncountable rumours when they have mentioned the figures of placement on ther website for year 2009.....it was a recession year despite which avg. placement is given 5.5 lakhs (lowest 3 and highest 9.5) plz visit website and click the placement after selecting pgdm option...........plz. dont spoil name of the college....and u all should agree on" what is mentioned on site must be authentic as it can be questioned at any time".........this year it shuld be more than 5.5(speculation)....as i have heard from one one of the friends from siescom dat most people are sayin dat they hav got either 6.5 or 7............if u can see one of the previous post where the link of last years cutoffs of cet is given than u wuld find that cutoff of sies was equal to kjsoumya last year and more than we school for home universities...this clearly indicates sies imprvement in terms of public approval and reliance

the average salary is 5.25 not 4l as mentioned by some people and the highest was 9.5..considering the economic downturn this is pretty decent and the highest salary b4 that year was 12.5

I will tell you guys. My frnd has done PG frm SIES (09-11). I would not like to tell the name. he told me that placement profiles not good. Finance people getting RM roles. Also package is from 2 lacs pa - 3.5 pa. Only 4-5 people get package above that i.e. between 4 - 6 pa. He told me avg in SIES is 2.5-3 pa.

So its not worth paying 10 - 12 lacs donation in sies. I would say that as per the above mentioned info sies pg seat is worth 4.5 - max 6 lacs payable only. Also many of them got placed in PAN india i.e. any where in india, also tier 3-4 cities.

Best college in finance in mumbai is JBIMS & NLDALMIA.

But as there are no other bschools in mumbai sies remains popular, but plz read above mentioned .... before paying donation.

Can any one let me know how are the placements in SIES ?
Whats the avg and max placement for PGDBM ?
I am asking this bcoz i have already SCIT in hand.

If IT is Your Background...go ahead with SCIT....(considering the Course,The Locality (Pune..One of IT Hubs),etc) ...again..its your decision..!
