HEy ThANKS a lot for clearing all the doubts and one question that i have in my mind is that if someone has a score of 99+ %ile in MAT DEC 09 & in the SIES test his %ile score is say 85 to 90 %ile then will they consider the MAT SCORE to calculate the marks for the admission process

For those who have given the dec mat the form cost would be 700 Rs and not 1400 Rs

No dude there is no risk involved...
I myslef had not given the MAT exam .... but things worked out fine for me last year :)

Let me clarify once and for all....
No matter which other exam you hav given you will have to give the SIES test as well... And since SIES accepts other scores as welll... People giving MAT do not have any undue advantage.... Since anyone else who has given any other all-india exam also have the same advantage.... The more scores you have to submit ... better are the chances....

Again exam scores are not the only criteria to get selected... You have the test, GD and two rounds of PI... The selection will be purely based on your aggregate performance in all these rounds... This is also the reason CUT-offs for individual exams cannot be determined ..

I have also talked to the admission cordinator and she asked me to attach the copy of SEPT MAT score with the form but the form cost will be still 1400 for me.... hopefully my score of 98.69% will be good enough to clear the first stage

Rajan as explained in earlier posts a high score in MAT or the other exams does not give you a call for the GD/PI it gives you a better chance of getting shortlisted for the PGDM course.

Remember to get into SIES you have to go through the SIES admission process comprising of a test, GD & PI. If this test score is lower than the submitted score i.e MAT then the higher one would be considered ultimately giving you a greater chance of getting selected for the programme.

Acads also do play an important role but I wouldnt be discouraged if I were you, if you are good in the GD/PI rounds you should get through. Remember its not only one aspect which is looked at everything is taken into consideration like extra curricular actv, work ex etc....

Be cool, prepare well and I am sure everything will be fine. Hope I answered ur queries.

As for summer placements again we had Asian paints and airtel. Both offering stipends in the range of 15k to 30k.

Dude to answer your queries separately
1) No the placement is not separate for MMS and PGDM students. When the company comes in both the MMS and PGDM students sit together for the same company

2 & 3) It's very difficult to rate toughness of getting into SIES, the college does consider a lot of factors while evaluating a student like your exam score, your performance in the gd/pi rounds and also your extracurricular activities and yes they do consider work experience, having a work ex of 2.5 years is a huge advantage.

The placement procedures are different for different companies that come to Campus but from the placement procedures that I have seen till now, they usually start with a GD and then have a PI(number of PI rounds vary).. Overall the company decides the entire procedure.

As for the specialization the number of students vary for each specialization each year.... like this year there were a large number of students who took up marketing.... Market conditions are an an important variable in this case......

Firstly best of luck and hopefully your dream of getting into SIES is fulfilled.

To answer your questions

1) No it is not compulsory to give the all India entrance exam you can give the SIES exam itself, the only reason that it is better to give an all India exam is that the best of your scores are considered giving you a better chance

2) Unfortunately the test is not held in Kolkata as mentioned in my previous post it is only held in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore

3) The PGDM program has an intake of 120 seats

4) The course fees for our batch i.e the 09-11 batch was 3.65L which includes the laptop fees

5) Placements for our seniors are still on and only a few seniors are left to be placed, to clarify I would recommend you visit our website which gives you an idea about our placement scenario.

6) No dude there is no hostel facility currently but there is a new building coming up which will have a hostel. I myself am an outstation student and the college was really cooperative in helping me find a place to stay so I wouldn't worry about acco right now.

well i gave december mat.... and reqstd my score to be sent to sies....

1.Sale of forms start on :21st December 2009
2.LAST DATE of sale of forms :20th February 2010
3.Last date of submission of completed forms :22nd February 2010
4. The selection process : 25th February 2010 to 2nd March 2010
