i went down to pune this weekend, looked around a couple of PG's (from the list colg provided)
it ranges from 2K to 3.5K pm, its near the colg, bt the places are kind of congested (i guess tats how things are around, isnt it? m kinda new to all this)

Yes ,even if if you have a workex you need to get the TC from ur college.
You need to get the GAP CERTIFICATE from the company(work ex letter)

Ok , 2 sound more sensible .....

Since you are migrating from one university to another university,the educational system and the legal policies state that one needs to produce "MIGRATION CERTIFICATE"

The transfer certficate actually states that your character is good lol + some other info's so "TRANSFER CERTIFICATE" is needed fr d same :-)

So even if you have ur degree in ur hand which most of us had when we joined ,we had 2 produce the docs ,so even u have 2 follow d PRATHA :-)

..So njoy ...


OOP & Java - You have core Java till Applets.There will be lab sessions as well as theory classes.Lots of Assignments :-)

Web Development Technologies - First basic HTML an dthen PHP will be taught.Life is going 2 be easy in this subject.Mostly practicals in this subject.

Network Essentials - Hmm ,this subject is completely theory with few numericals on subnet and hamming code n all.Mostly 7 layers OSI Model.You will all be pissed off by the way this subject is taught...

Database Management - The faculty which will be teaching JAVA will most prolly teach you DBMS.Mostly theory but a chunk of time will be dedicated to SQL queries.You will njoy .... he he he ERDS's WILL KILL YOU!

Software Engineering - No one knows wats d course is ... One day u will realize that the course is over .Mostly lifecycle model.DFD's will make your life miserable...bt still theory will show mercy.

Principles & Practices of Management - This is the best subject of 1st semester .Reason the faculty who taught this subject.NO BOOKS! only case study bases.Handouts provided by sir .NO ONE MISSES SANE SIR'S classes. bt m nt sure he will teach you ...

Financial Management I - This was a phobia for me ...Its basically accounts.Journal,Ledger,Cash Books,Subsidary Books,BRS,P&L; Account and Balance Sheets.THIS SUBJECT IS GOING TO BE A NIGHTMARE FOR MANY OF YOU .

Marketing Management - All fundas..Will get d feel of MBA .Presentations n cases studies..You love this subject.4P's of marketing, segmentation, branding , promotion etc....

Managerial Skills - I - Hmmm this subject will alter ur sleeping habits ..lol be there at sharp 8.00 A.M. or else no attendance.Surprise test everyday ..Extempore,Public speaking ,GD's ...... You all will like this..

I am currently working with TCS, past 2 and half years.
I have got admission to the MBA IT course 2010-12
But lookin at the past placement records, it does not seem to be so lucrative after two years.
Besides, as I have heard, the average package is 5 lacs for the passouts.

Is it really advisable for an experienced person to take up this course from SICSR?
Or is it only good for freshers?

This topic has been discussed many a times bt still I wud repeat.
SICSR has a mixed blend of freshers and workex.Our Batch has 70-80% workex ppl .All from reputed IT MNC's.The placement has bin hit badly till last year.This year things have changed drstically and we are very sure that it will improve a lol when we passout.So in 2012 when you complete your degree the placements will have a completely different scenario.

One should nt stick to in campus placements only.You can get very good offers offcampus if you have workex and an MBA(IT) degree.

Lastly,If you have better options then SICSR then you can go fr them as well..
