SIBM Bangalore has never faked or inflated any packages at all. This year also we will never come down to such cheap stunts at all. As far the dates of publishing the report is concerned well we are still awaiting approvals from higher authorities for the same. However we will put in the same for you all to have a look and take an informed decision, and well before the last date of payment of fees.

We are also students and have been on the other side just 2 yrs back...we completely understand your apprehensions and concerns and they will be taken care of well in time.

As far as Tea vendor or any roadside shop is concerned well its for you to believe at such locations..!! I would suggest since you have easy access to the college why don't you drop in at the Placement Committee office and get the correct insights and figures..!! Trust me buddy you are invited..!! You can PM me anytime and we'll be more than happy to take you around.

Well as kshitij has mentioned SIBM, Bangalore does not open profiles below 5 LPA for its students unless and until the students are really interested in a particular profiles say a Media / Advt profiles which generally offer less than industry.

I am sure you have some really wrong info or you talked to some really wrong people who are not from SIBM, Bangalore.

See I have no idea who you talked to. The point is our campus hosts 2 colleges. One is SIBM Bangalore and the other is Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication. It is possible you talked to them.

For a fact, no 2lpa offer has ever set foot in SIBM Bangalore.

For placement details regarding SIMC Bangalore, I request you to please check that up on their website.

Secondly, we dont have a tea shop inside campus. And the tea shop owner, whoever that is since we only have a outlet selling chips etc and no tea and a cafeteria selling food and maybe tea, has no idea whatsoever about placements.

You're applying to the 2 year fulltime MBA program, am I correct? If so, it depends on the number of people who have applied under the quota. From what I know of it, you stand a better than fair chance at the moment. Cannot comment with surety though. I do not know the additional parameters used to evaluate International students

Just wanted to inform you that the students dont make any money out of publishing or not publishing the placements report.

So that throws your theory out the window.

As for the report, it requires approvals. As soon as it is done, it will be published. The management and the committee know of your concerns are are on it.

Just fed up of asking the placements reports.....I am sure this institute is gng to miss some of the bright students just because of their mistake of publishing placements reports(something which they think is very much secret according to their so called policy & ethics)....I advice all my puys dnt give much importance to this college as they are not much concerned about the expectations of the candidates....

Try to concentrate on other calls which are definately better than this b-school rather begging them about the final placements reports for making an informed decision....

Just keep one thing in mind that if u even miss this b-school then u are not gng to miss something IIM-A because finally its a 4 yr old b-school which cannot be compared at all to other top b-schools at any given day......

So dont care much & leave it....

I was informed at the GD/PI centre by the admission committee team that SIBM bangalore will be coming out with placement report in March and I will have time to ponder over it before taking the big leap. I do agree that placement is not the only factor one has to consider before joining a institution but not releasing the report is not helping us make an informed choice.

Though we are given 15 days to deposit money, All of us know that it is a 7-8 day process and one would have to start it right on the 14th or 15th March. I request placement committee to disclose some key figures if not the whole report if in case the report will not be published in the coming week.

anybody can tell me that how many students came for ge and pi process in every slot. just wanted to know to find out the level of competition in ge pi process.(i know that in a round there were about 12 to 15 students but how many such groups were created in a single slot?)

but suppose a student got admission calls from 2 colleges only and sibm b is one of them and sibm b is little better than the other....now there will be some students who will join sibm b....but there will also be some students who will not join the college as some important information is missing out in the college's website and in the process will lose the opportunity to study in a very good college....now the college will lose some good students and some good student will lose a good college...you got my point???

all we are asking for is some important information so that we can make some informed decision.....

What you can crack it upto you...!! We understand as to "how many" such opportunity do you get..but then again the question "How many can YOU convert"...!!

Exactly... With almost 2 months in hand, why not:

1. Learn a new language
2. Do some certifications
3. Do some basic research on what you are going to study..
4. Follow your passion and hobbies- blogging, salsa (??), writing etc etc..


Everyone should get enough time to decide to choose a college, the placements committee is definitely working very hard to get everything in order before publishing it officially on the website..

So keep firing your queries apart from placements of this year for the time being, and let us help you more in choosing the right B school, specialization et al..

But I can assure that SIBM-Bangalore take pride in saying that we have put TRUE figures even to the decimal.. because we know we are going higher..!! and we are proud of it..!! We have always maintained and believed that we should not disclose any false info.. because at the end of it all.... it is the students who matter the most is building the future of the institute..!! Many B-Schools have come up with summer placement report for 2011-2013 batch. I dont see anything on sibm-b website. The report is for 2010-2012 batch. Can seniors throw some light on it please??

Their is no difference in placements for Freshers and Laterals..!! Everyone is at par for the institute, however the offer and profile is based on the organization and the profiles they are recruiting for..!!


What are the locations in India where most offers are made ?

The offers are made across India, for companies who have a structured 1-yr programs for recruits have to more across locations..!! For IT companies the location would be requirement based..!! Hence no specific location or regional concentration..!!


What is the sector-wise and specialization/function-wise number of offers and the average package for each ?

I don't know if the yet-to-be-out placement report of SIBM B will have these details.. I request you to give us more info abt placements so that we can decide on our choice of college...

The placements reports will not have so many details.. also we cannot disclose these details on public forums also..!! We request you to kindly get in touch with the Placements committee in person/call and I am sure they would be more that happy to help you with the details..!! We are just waiting our final lap of placements to get over as editing the placements report again and again (adding companies/ changing packages) is not a good idea.

I'll convey your message to the Placements team. They will answer your question. Bu the point is you don't know how tough it is to convert a company, how tough it is to build relations. It is easy to talk from a third person's point of view. But every piece of information has its own weight.

Now, for a candidate like you looking at SIBM -Bangalore, would you like us to jeopardize a sensitive thing like placements because we shot our mouth off too early !!

The placements report will be compiled and should be put up soon ! It's been a busy few days with the change in the student council, exams and the seniors about to pass out.

Whenever the questions have been raised about the 2012 placements u guys are trying to avoid that by one or other way or have been telling most of the times that the placements reports will be out in the due while or in the next month right from starting of january...

Well i can understand the policy of the college but frankly speaking u are not going to release something which julian assenge had released before & that too far much more important than this issue...

Atlist u can give us all a fair idea about the placements as to where it is heading as we are not media persons who will be publishing the placements news in TV reports...

Trust me all are keen to know about that as every1 wants to decide their future college to be on safe side....n yes as previously said their are many criteria to judge a b-school but in that criteria placements reports holds the much important position & still regarded as a major key to decide a b-school.....Bcoz finally we are aiming for that only after completion of studies, it is either me or u or else any1...

Hope it helps u all about the kind of curiosity we are having in sibm bangalore so as to know each & everything before joining the institute....

May I know how many candidates will be shortlisted and waitlisted for open category? Are waitlisted ranks also given?
