After my disastrous performance in CAT,the fact is slowly begining to sink in that I would never make it to the IIM's or any of the top 10-20 bschools in India,not atleast this year.
I always knew CAT was tuff,but boy!!! CAT this was a catastrophe,atleast for me.

in mumbai u can't get any god college but in pune u can get all colleges except PUMBA.so go for pune colleges

1) chetna
2) met

pune colleges
1) mitsom
2) indira

well no hard feelings but i don't think you could get pumba.i m saying on the basis of last years cutt-off as last year the final cut-off pumba at AI level is AI rank:-487 and marks:-131/240

Have you checked MITSOB as option? Their placement record are very good. Faculty and course is also good. It is AICTE approved PGDM course.

well your university rank is good.so u have a chance for pumba but for mumbai i feel its not worthy for a good college.so i feel you should aim for pumba maybe in first or positively in second round

thanks for replying deepak76,but as i have checked indsearch official site,they don't have finance courses and pumba is out of my reech due to shortage of marks:sneaky:so my last option would be mitsom for mba in finance.

These thread made for pune colleges so sombody from seniors pls tell me is it worth to do M.B.A from SINHGAD institute and if sombody have Statistical info regarding their CENTRALISED PLACEMENT then please inform me bcose i am in great confusion between SINHGAD and AVRAGE colleges of MUMBAI.

Better than that 2 colleges go for MUMBAI colleges. Mumbai Colleges will give u more Exposure & other stuffs. Indira , Sinhagad are Average colleges.

From placement and course point of view, AICTE approved PGDM program at MITSOB is much better. Visit their site, talk to the students and get more information. Their placements are one of the best in Pune (Next to Symbiosis).

Hi All,

I am Naveli with 6 years of experience in Business Analyst type role in IT company. I have done B.E. in E&TC; from a very good college in Pune University.. I love maths and my logical analysis is good..

I am stuck up badly in my current profile which does not give me much in return to my efforts. So I have decided to take a chance in MBA. Which will take my career and my low confidence to a better level.

Currently I am on Sabbatical leave from June 1st with my husband at USA. And I want to utilise this time in preparing for MBA exam majorly for CAT , SNAP, CET.. Preferebly CET/SNAP.. coz i have location constraint.. and I can not study anywhere else except Pune..

But I am not confident friends.. I am not sure if doing MBA is the right decision or not.. I dont think executive MBA will help.. I have heard it should be done after 8-9 yrs of exp plus it is very expensive compared to PGDM.
Friends please help me boost my confidence in myself..

Most of the Executive MBA programs do not offer the value. Some of them are substandard. They are designed to give some certificates for those who have money and no time. Full time programs like MBA and PGDM from any good institute is always better. Otherwise you can enroll for IGNOU distance learning MBA. It has better standards but tougher to complete. Otherwise there are part time university courses also.

For MBA Finance INDSEARCH, PUMBA and MITSOM are good. They have good faculty.
Better option could have been PGDM at MITSOB considering their placement, course and faculty. But their website shows Finance is full. But you can still call them and check.

MITCOM runs distance learning program. MITSOM runs Pune university MBA. MITSOB runs AICTE approved PGDM. As far as placements, quality of course and faculty, MITSOB is the best. I have checked once by visiting the institute and through few past students.

I fully agree. MITSOB is much better. In fact there is no comparison if you go by placement records, course structure, faculty, etc.

MIT SOB is always better than any other college in MIT campus, if you consider placements and industry orientation.
And they have separate tests for admission, its not under MH CET.

hey GDD i do agree wid you...placements in mum clgs are much bettr than pune...n cutoffs too:biggrin:...accrdin to last yr cutoff aftr PUMBA the nxt best is IIMP in pune .....bt dere are 10 clgs in betwin them which r of mumbai n dere placemnts r much bettr than IIMP....n i too wnt to b in mumbai...

1)i had a cnvrstn wid one of d student of INDSEARCH n she said that placements are just 20-30%....and worst for IT..
its a old clg bt MBA started in 2007...
n
2) hw to apply 4 IMDR...dere website says that clg code is 6790..bt dere is no such clg/no. in CET brochure...

Hi Puys,
Placements are a big question mark at such colleges...specially MITSOM, since one of my friend had taken up MBA HR in MITSOM.
But yes, staff is good at MITSOM.
