Look...as far as CET goes, all are important...because unlike CAt, CET does not ahve a fixed pattern. I would suggest you to do all concepts. Then you focus on CET specific questions like Para jumbles, odd man out, fill the blanks(Para), then course of action, conclusion/inference/assumptions...there are many more...do join some class or atleast test series...

There is no specific weightage for any particular book...plz come out of the text book mode...in fact i had never used R.S.Agarwal...i had only done from class notes and test series.

in order to increase my probablility i am also taking cat, and nmat should i go for any more tests ...???

i have 65 % in my acads throughout and have a work ex of 2 years
Seniors plz suggest apart from these three test which tests should i go for??? I am keen to crack any test in order to start my mba from 2012

Ok...Look...apart from CAT,NMAT and CET..go for SNAP...difficulty level...CAT>CET>NMAT>=SNAP....SNAP gives you access to SiBM and SCMHRD and others as well but i mentioned the top 2..
...you may try XAT and FMS but these are on a tougher side...as far as your preferences go...being a mumbaikar try netting the top in Mumbai and Pune...you wont need to look elsewhere..frget rankings n all...;)

Last year CET 2011 was tough. Actually question were not difficult but some of them were time consuming.

CET becomes an intersting exam because it has no -ve marking, it becomes very important to attempt all the questions.

Overall i feel that its still a speed test.

@skulkarni - Well , see if you are looking only at the quantification of your Acads , that will happen only during counting of 40 additional marks (4 mrks allotes for acads) over and above 200 . But the subjective implication can come into play when you give your PI and depends on how the interviewer interprets yur low acad scores and also depends on how yu create yur defence , which would positively or negatively impact yur PI score (17 marks) . But yes , keeping all this aside if yu score high marks in written then the implication of those acads marks might get negated to an extent ... So give yur best shot in the written test

I am an OMS candidate. With average acads. The Prev Acad Score as considered by CET is the only time they consider academic records or do they consider again at the time of Admission n all.

If i score well in MHCET & GD & PI ,prev acad score will not be a difference or will it make a difference. I am aiming for JB,SIMS,KJS

Well...look...the concepts are the same which you learn for other exams..CAT,NMAT etc...but the pattern is drastically different...the type of questions...although u may "seem" they are easy...if you ever attempt a CET mock with the time constraint...those very questions wont be that easy anymore...as far as the easier part is concerned..i believe verbal is relatively easier...

Secondly, now is not the time to do CET mocks...CET is in Feb...with time we would guide you as to how to go about the mocks...now just think of making concepts rock solid...coz to get speed, you need concepts to be too good...solve CET based questions...for now you dont have too much work per day...bt as the mocks start is October, you'll have enough CET workload...bt we'll help you when that time comes...:)

For Q.A...u just need to clear ur basics so any book with basics is good and class material is always good...just solve lots of and lots of qs..since this is totally speed based test (but last year it changed...but still be prepare for anyting)

For LR - R S is ok..just for info..last year who refereed R S told that some the ans from CR are wrong...so just remember if u come to any contradictory ans..it may be wrong

For DI- only test papers...tats ok

Change in pattern of the exam will certainly not lead to change in referring the book for any particular exam. The pattern was changed and it was a great shock to everyone...many people screwed up their career.... just due to change in the paper pattern.....

Great Work Nilesh...by starting this thread so early...i believe that CET is no longer "easy pickings" for aspirants. So for someone who is aiming for only CET this year and is starting from scratch should start preparing

Everybody says CET is easy but they forget that u have to attempt those easy (to moderate) qs in just 120 min which is not easy....so for that u need to start early..

For those(lyk me) who are preparing for other exams or who gave CET earlier..mostly they know basics and also CET qs type.....so they need to start solving CET papers and anlyze is thoroughly.. at least 1 paper in a week for now is good...by this u also preparing for NMAT, which is more or less of same pattern.

For those who are totally new to CET they must start preparing now....first i will suggest u grab any last year MOCK CET (last year preferable) and attempt that test with time constraint and then analyze the paper....see how much u remember basics from ur schooling and also u will get to know the pattern of CET...then start preparing for basics and then start giving MOCK CET..

puys from other cities where thea no CET classes u can contact Peak Seekers or Quin Academy..(both are good..and i am not marketing them)...they will courier u the mock tests(if any other classes do..plz mention here)..better u get mock papers from both

As far as CET 2011 goes, it ws difficult than SNAP and NMAT...and 200 attempt seemed impossible...so next years CET could be like this as well...bt however easy or tough the paper is, the competition remains the same...so it would be really great if more n more quality people aspire for the top CET colleges and attempt CET...

On a serious note CET aspirants should understand that this DTE buddhas can do any shit with the paper pattern, putting all your cards just on CET will be as good as committing suicide...... You never know how the paper is going to be this year....... i would say even if you guys are not targeting exams like CAT, XAT, SNAP and NMAT you guys will have to prepare for the level of questions these exams have..... this will help you to survive for any ridiculous pattern of CET 2012.....

There is some rule in Engineering which says if you throw an object in the air it falls down which means you aim as big as you can so that you will not fall deeply.....

I'll try and be active on this thread..... just leme know any sort of help anybody needs..... A last point..... for WOR EX people who have more than 3 or 4 yrs of WE........ guys you just cant aim for CET if you seriously want to get into the top 5 bschool in mumbai this year..... you will have to slog for CAT,XAT,SNAP,NMAT etc.... or else be ready to repent through out your life....
