Hey Puys, Anyone preparing for CET 2011 can refer to book by Chandresh Agarwal. Though the book is not at the actual level of CET, but it is good to start with.\ Hope it helps. Best of Luck
Hi, I'll try to answer your questions [point by point. 1. At this stage you should concentrate more on building on basics. Do not rush to solving question papers now. 2. Maths is important. even though it is for less marks but you have to get them right? if you prepare well then you can ...
Its been a long time that the thread is not moving.
I thoght of bringing some questions front of you guys which would help us in CET Preparation. These are some of the questions which i have come across.
1.How should be the approach towards the CET preparation at this stage.
2. Which part of the syllabus should be concentrated at this stage. Some of the people believe that at this stage Maths should be done as far as basics are concern since it comes to cet hardly for 15-20 marks.
3.When should one start with Logic n visual.
4.How VOCAB should be develop over the period of time?
5.Is it beneficial to finish some portion before it gets start at coaching institute or one should first understand the basics of a particular topic at coaching and then start practicing it.
It'll be really a great help if seniors and those who are giving cet again in 2011 share their experiences about how they started their studies wat all challenges they faced and how did they overcome it? I believe its of no use to boil the entire ocean but a structured and organised approach towards CET will definately help every puys to achieve good score in CET. Regards Keith.

2. Maths is important. even though it is for less marks but you have to get them right? if you prepare well then you can score those marks in less time. As far as which one to start, that is a personal choice. What I feel is, all parts should be done according to a schedule and not one at a time. This in not the right way. Because effectively you would be preparing one part when closer to exams and the one that you might have done before would not be so strong. All portions require a lot of practise and hence you need to schedule them.
3. I guess point 2 answers this.
4. Read a lot of stuff.. magazines, newspapers. That will build your reading speed as well as improve your vocabulary. You can also start with 'word power made easy'.
5. If you plan to join coaching then there is no problem as they will clarify all the concepts. There is no textbook rule that you should study from before or not. It is a personal choice.

Nope. My university will issue the provisional only after i clear my last paper. I dont think my course completion certificate from college will be of any use.

- Does your university allow you to leave papers (1 or 2), because there are universities which have credit system, and you just need to secure certain number of credits in order to attain a degree, and not necessarily clearing all exams. - Can you obtain a provisional from college or university?
Hi folks,i need ur help in a rather peculiar problem. I am a b.tech 2009 passout. But i have 1 backpaper, the result of which will come only by the 1st week of april,2011. Since i am not a final year student will i be able to apply for colleges under MAH-CET 2011. Excuse my lack of awareness,if any.

1. There are questions on figures(you will be given certain figures some are related to each other or you may need to find next one in the series)
let it be series, odd man out etc.(may include several logics like mathematics, progression, random logic , mix of these)
To prepare for this best way (according to me) is
For each logic one question pratice initially. then later mix one and try to create questions . yes by actually creating this you will understand the logic behind this.
2. another frequent question is to decide about some person what action to be taken( generally he or she is applying for job and you have certain conditions based on this you need to decide whether he is rejected or sent for approval or accepted or waitlisted etc)
For these kind of questions prepare a table on left hand side keep all characteristics and on top write the candidate name and tick if he fulfills the criteria. Remember the loop hole is data indequate dont assume anything.
3. All clouds are birds all birds are winners etc these kind of questions really simple
first learn all the rules from rs agarwal (verbal reasoning and non reasoning) then apply you will never get these questions wrong if rules are perfectly done.
4. Blood relations ( easiest way is to assign symbols like
male m female f or + and - and draw a tree diagram then you can easily clear this hurdle)
Will update for other type of questions also.. Thank you...
Thanks a lot for u r valuable suggestions much appreciated buddy keep on the forum

That will prepare you well for CET as well. I agree there are questions of visual reasoning as well in CET, but that wont need much time to prepare for.... From my personal experience I can say that there is no point channeling your full energies on CET preparation as of now. I gave only four mock tests for CET preparation, but since I had prepared for CAT, did not need much practice... I did see the questions on visual reasoning, but other questions will look very easy once you prepare for CAT..
If one sees my scores, it can be easily noticed that I'm no 99 percentiler in CAT or any other exam, but in CET and that too with minimum preparation..
@disha doshi many exams to write, but prepare for the toughest and the rest will be taken care of. ANy further queries can PM me if the thread becomes too cluttered...
can any one help in detail please...like i have idea about 2 exams CAT CET as they are main ..accept that which exams are there and for which i should go for... and please tell me which subjects are there and from where to start preparing..

As I said, best way to 'crack' CET is NOT to focus on it at start. Prepare as much as you can for CAT+ and you are more than 90% prepared for CET. You are already well-versed with most of the concepts. What remains to be done is some additional stuff like VR, CR etc. and gaining speed (some strat...
Happy to see the active participation from many of us on this thread and hope to remain the same in coming future.
Its gonu be my first full fledge attempt to CET.I have certain questions about CET preparation;
1. How should i start my CET prepartion?
2. What is to be focused at this stage SPEED or ACCURACY?
Since i am working i hardly get 3-4 hrs a day for my preparation.
I'll be really grateful if you guys could answer my queries and show me the path to CET 2011 Preparation.
FIGHT TILL YOU GET! KEITH:)

hey guys visited this thread today.i am preparing for cat 10 and cet 11.my few cents for cet exam 1. prepare well for cat. most of cet preparatin will be done. 2. along with cat preparation continue preparation for cet by doing topics like visual reasoning ,critical reasoning. 3.as it is a speed test so try to increase ur speed. 4. if u r a mah student join some good coaching like time, ***** academy 5.if u r a outside mah student try to join some good test series (not sure if its there). 6. only cat score along with cet score were taken for consideration for all india seats from this time onwards. so outside mah students have to do well in cet (upto last year mat, atma scores were also converted but now it doesnt seem to be the case anymore ) best of luck and experienced guys please share ur preparation tips and please post material and paper also. note(whatever i have told is on basis of information provided to me by my friend). i am also an aspirant like u all.
ahh yes Madhuri this thread is open for personal discussions of course what u say is right but u cannot entirely depend on CAT either yes u do have a couple of months break to prepare for CET... and well i had shared my views about CET too its just the way one takes it
I dont need any more help in CET, thankfully. I am suggesting what helped me in CET10. I did not touch CET material before JMET10. The topics are the same (with some additions like VR, CR etc), level of difficulty changes. If you are (well) prepared for CAT+, you are already well ahead of most of CET aspirants. What remains in solving low-difficulty questions speedily, which can be EASILY done in a month's time. (Note - you will have min 2 months post CAT)
I hope this thread is open to personal suggestions. Else I will abstain from posting on it henceforth.
All the best. Jai Ho!

Yes Certainly disha would like to help.. wel CET is amongst the easy segment of exams its a speed base test.. it tests u r basic skills the division is as simple as any other entrance LR, DI, QUANT, VERBAL ( major portion comprising of DI LR) and a positive point of this exam is there is no negative marking :) if u need anything else feel free to ask more papers and stuff shall be updated soon..
Madhuri dont be under a false impression that preparing for CAT would easily help u for CET.. Nope thats not the thing this entirely different tests as mentioned before CET is a speed based exam so in CAT u wil make sure u solve a question n get it right where as CET u have 200 quest to be finished in 150 mins..

Not an authority on CET, but I would like to say (advise?) something here. It is too early to think of CET11. Start preparing for CAT and host of other exams. DO NOT focus on CET11 from now. No matter what you do with CAT+, it DEFINITELY helps you in CET (provided you take them seriously). You will have ample amount of time post-CAT for CET prep.
Agreed with thread-starter. It is never an early start (for a thread).
