Since you are from Capital Market, my entire questionnaire was out of context for you & wasn't expected out of you actually. It is meant for MBA (Core) Students specifically. Having said that, i ain't looking for capital markets (didn't even fill it as the last option) & hence was being specific to Core Let the people from correct syllabus take up the queries to avoid redundancy

And just a clarification apropos my question : I wasn't asking for PPT or various kinds of profiles offered. My query is specific to one domain. Hopefully the concerned person will get it right across

Obviously 450 students don't play hide and seek with profiles here companies declare the profiles beforehand. The also conduct a pre-placement talk session where you can clarify any doubts about clarify. Remaining questions are 'out of syllabus' for me.

Ok Thanks for a quick reply, but i am hoping that in general nearly a wide range of profiles are at least offered at campus, so that one can make an informed decision before sitting for the interview & converting it. If i be specific, then in my case i would perhaps want to go for profiles related to Branding & relating it to the placements at NMIMS, can i expect some names or profiles being offered in this domain?

Is it hard & fast that if once someone has opted for sitting in a placement interview session of one company then :

1) He's not allowed to sit in others coming forward, if got selected in the first one.
2) He's not supported for placement or isn't allowed to sit ahead in placements if he gets selected in the first one but does not accept the offer or reject it, for any reasons?

These are the queries which got generated out of inquisition in response to your post & the post of the person above whom you quoted. Would be great if you could clear the air. thanks heaps..

i have been a member of NMIMS' placecom and know everything inside out. no one wants to ruin a student's career.
1. if someone isn't interested in a profile,he is free to back out and communicate about his lack of interest in the job to the interview panel.
2. generally for final placements, the cos 1st give a ppt explaining in detail abt the job profile,salary,etc. so i wonder how this situation can arise.
3. the hypothetical situation created in this post may arise sometimes only during summer placement. but if you follow point 1,you wont have any doubts.

4.the guy doesn't even have the decency to use apt language on a public forum.so i can hardly trust this post.

5.16 lacs does not include hostel and mess. It is just the tution fee. Placement report is not yet out so the amazing personalities don't know what figure to quote. Please wait for the placement report.

I want to know whether the fees of 5.16 includes hostel and mess....and if yes can i opt out since i am a localite ...and one of them mentioned avg.package to be 13.5 lpa .....but on 1st march a madam said its 8 to 10 lpa...... y so diff in the figures ....bydifferent personality from same college....?

My slot for GDPI is at 9 am, and I have booked the flight for 5:30 pm on the same day. I thought the process should be over by 1 pm, since the next batch starts then. But now I have read at few places about delays creeping in. So will I be able to make it? Or should I reschedule?

A few things if someone can help me out.

- Does NMIMS discloses the total score out 0f 100?
- Do we have to pay the total fees or there is some amount which we need to pay to confirm out admission?
- Which is the best place to live around the college as more or less i have decided to stay outside hostel premises.

Placements are still going on so can't comment on figures, but please bear in mind that placement scenario is not that good even Iim found it difficult in placement and so is the case everywhere

This year NM has seen decent placements especially considering the gloomy economic outlook. Placements at NM are a bit complicated as it has multiple programs hence placements and compensation figures must be looked at separately for these programs.
As far as Core is concerned almost 100% placement is done and average figure can be around what is being quoted by other authors but it would certainly be on lower side for the finance students.
For Banking and Capital Markets courses, increase in batch size has taken its toll on the placements, which is pretty evident from the median compensation figures and kind of firms that they have been placed into. Of course the figures will be given by the official placement report.
Placements at NM can't be compared with SP/JB/XLRI simply b'coz of considerable difference in batch size.

Ohk I don't mean to offend anyone but SPJain, XIMB and XLRI have witnessed 10-15% increase in their average packages so was expecting the same trend with other colleges as well. Anyways regardless of the packages, it all depends on the individual in the end.
