Summer placements for HR have been exceptionally good but same can not be said about the finals. Though very few students (around 25) took HR as their major they have not been able to get proper HR jobs and quite a few of them have actually secured jobs in other roles.

NM has historically been known for Marketing and Finance and not HR or other profiles. My hunch says it is gonna be a daunting task next year too. I sincerely hope I would be wrong.

All I can say is that being part of the 1st batch, I can assure you that the summers have been good.

Did u really think that work experience of 25 months will make companies run after you? This kind of work experience is pretty common across B-schools in India. It is assumed that 'knowledgeable' people are cognizant of this fact. Your apparently smart and knowledgeable argument only underscores hubris of an imbecile mind.

Anyways, a smart chap would not run after free advice to calculate ROI and would respect the honest opinion and advice.

how do you expect me to find a return on investment? The salary figures for last year ranged from 6 L to 24 L. The expenses are same for everyone. And the salary component (as you already know) depends on a number of factors. So, now you know a lot to do the calculations for yourself.

If you are only looking for a figure, you could have googled it to find through the placement reports.

Since 14L is the minimum worth that you have decided for yourself circa 2014, try and find out a college in India, which 'guarantees' you that sum.

don't know about your profile but 25+ months experience is quite normal. I mean to say that nobody can guarantee anything for now. It will all depend on you. We have quite a competition within the batch for good placements.

Capital markets targets all the financial services companies working in the stock markets. It can be brokerage houses or brokerage arms of banks like ICICI securities etc. Banking targets the other banking functions. You can take a look at the course structure, you will get an idea. Placement wise there is not much to differentiate.

I had my NMIMS GDPI today for both Core and HR programs.
First of all there two seperate processes for HR and Core MBA. During briefing of each program u would be given a sheet where u can change ur preference.. :)


For HR:
1 case stdy to individual for about 10 mins to write.

GD: involves case stdy where u have to analyse the case and discuss within group and come to conclusion. Our GD went quite well. We were able to form common conclusion for two scenarios bt could not form common opinion on 3rd scenario. In all it was good. Every one spoked quite well.

PI: For me Two pannelist. Both were women and quite chill. It went gud for me. Many questions related to practical situations.


For Core:
GD: Case stdy on Insider Trading.
It didnt go well as i thing no one knew exactly wat is insider trading. Every one trying to strect situation given in the case. 2 persons were trying to dominate not allowing others to put there points. In all it was not upto the mark.

PI: 3 panellists All were Men. One was old, one was young and other one of middle age. They were also quite chillax.
For me question based on my native place, work experince some current affairs, fav TV channel and serial and some questions based on my SOP.
in all it was very good PI.


Note: Guys be chill. Prepare well for PI based on what u have mentioned in ur SOP.

10 minutes were given

second, there was a group exercise for 20 minutes. situation: 2 convicts had to be jailed but attorney couldn't do it due to lack of evidence. (its a long story and I am at the airport, I'll complete it once I reach home so please be patient) for the first 5 minutes we had to individually decide, then discuss for 15 mines and come at a consensus

third , the pi. very chilled out panel of two ladies, no grilling, standard questions, why mba why hr your qualities etc etc

overall case study for 10 mins, ge for 20 minutes and pi for 10 mins.. approx students called 150 to 160.. entire process over in 3 hours..

overall very good administration, u had to deposit ur mobile for the entire day.

for core
case based gd: MD of a company found guilty of inside trading. argument in favour was that some information maybe leaked intentionally or unintentionally. should limited inside trading be allowed?
time: 2 mins to pen down ur thoughts, 15 mins for discussion and 3 minutes for summary by each individual
3 panelists
total time 20 mins

pi
again 3 panelists, no grilling, standard questions, a little bout based on my background and experience. asked general questions abt automobile industry
(that's where I work)
total time 10 mins
overall 1 hour taken

Just 2 quick questions:

1) I don't need to confirm on website or send anything to institute. It's just for us to verify ourselves. Right?

2)Was there any online registration(as mentioned in mail above)? I simply took the printout of pdf called "GD/PI Application Form", filled it and sent it along with other documents. There was no online registration, other than online registration for NMAT at pearson website. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Not at all. Just be confident while answering. One year is a big time. They don't hold on to the answers you have given in interviews. Who will take so much effort??

My college gives GPA out of 10.We calculate the marks in percentage by multiplying the GPA with 10. Do I need a certificate to show this GPA to percentage conversion?
