Preps for MICAT:

Am not in a position to comment on that since i didn't get a chance to write MICAT last year... :w00t:

Anyway the following comes to my mind for preps:

1) Glancing through the last 5 year micat papers would be good.
2) Start reading Economic Times (atleast on Wednesdays) - the supplement BrandEquity is a must read for any Micaspirant.
(Don't miss out next week's copy )
3) afaqs.com - for regular agency related gyaan.

Mica Gyaan:

I would advise you guys to go through the two pdf's which contains deval ma'ams answers for common queries about mica.

This would help you to get a basic idea about what mica is all about and what is expected out of you as an aspirant... saves time... so go through once before the confy...


Going forward:

I have been maintaining a blog which contains gyaan about mica and about the prep resources for micat... if any of you is interested to contribute to the blog let me know and i will give you access to post in the blog.

Anyway, everyone keep a watch on : Brand Equity - Features - The Economic Times (Or just look for the articles under Brand Equity on the ET Website)
Also, suscribe to Afaqs website. Helps you to develop familiarity with a few advertising terms. Afaqs website also has a MICA Classroom section. Won't hurt to check this out either : afaqs!> MICA> Advertising

I am no expert, so I have no idea how useful these links would be. All the best to everyone whose preparing for any college this year. :)

Get a hard copy, it is worth it . A must read for anyone who even wants to smell advertising :)

If it works out....then may be specific colleges can be aimed etc and public will also be benefitted by the same.....for years to come...

we r hardly few ppl, we are already a team.... :w00t:




so we already are 5-6 people...
Maybe each one of is should share our strengths, what all we are good at, where we can help each other and then take responsibility for the same.....

Right now the Agenda is:

1. Gain knowledge about the Market, most of us, including me are unfamiliar with the jagrons and even the basic knowledge about the market.
   
2. MiCAT preperation
   
3. Group Exercise
   
4. SOP's, written or spoken, but we all need a SOP..

DI: 50+
MICA Admissions Test (MICAT)

Candidates shortlisted from CAT/GMAT will be invited to appear for the MICAT, which will be conducted in Feburary / March at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The MICAT is designed to assess analytical and divergent thinking, written communication skills and familarity with the Indian ethos.

What preparation is required for the MICAT?

There is no special preparation required for the MICAT. We expect our prospective candidates to be well-read, innovative and intelligent with an analytical bent of mind. We also expect them to be aware of contemporary social and industry issues. General awareness towards marketing, advertising and business issues will be additional advantages.
