If ure lookin for MBA in marketing u can definitely go for PUMBA, its Marketing is well reputed, this yr arnd 80 companies came for placements in marketing thr. Same goes for SIES in marketing. Dalmia's Finance course is well renowned. but last yr evn Marketin ppl thr got outstanding profiles. So u hav mny options all in sm way better thn the one ur worried abt :). So chill.

n after taking ppl 4m gud coll in their own city they go to other cities also.... wht matters to them is the quality....

When we talk about good colleges then under cet only top 4-5 can be considered good when we talk about national level colleges.. i mean do people in delhi know about sighad ? maybe not but do they know about jamnalal bajaj mostly yea..

It all depends on many factors if you see cet colleges placement stats the companies visiting are normally local companies only..

I am not sure but u may landup in MET or IES or may b chetna. If some of them dont wait for JB then u have chance to get good college. my one friend is also from NT-2. he is 2 in HU

1st of all... if u r doubtfull then fill top 5 as the options that in any case u'll b taking admission in.
e.g: fill top 5 as:
JB
sydenham MMS
KJ
sydenham pg

after that fill ur options as per ur priority.. (20 options r much much much more than sfficient if u know wht u want... i wud say fill only till d collgs u expecting to get through)..

2nd n important thing:
u'll get only 1 collg as per ur rank n preference...
what i mean is: if ur rank is 765.... then DTE will allot collg till rank 764... then will come to ur preference sheet..
now ur 1st option is JB... it'll c at ur rank, category is d seat available for u...
if yes... u'll b allotted the seat n then it'll move to rank 766...
if no.. then it'll go to ur 2nd preference... n if it is again no... then it'll move to ur 3rd preference n so on... it'll go on till all preference u hv entered r exhausted...

suppose u hv entered chetana as ur 8th option.... n ur top 7 options hv no seats left (all those seats r allotted to better rankers)....
& in chetana seat is available... then u'll b allotted chetana & u'll b out of that CAP round...!!!


P.S: think b4 entering preferences... fill only till d collgs u really looking forward to.. don't unnecessarily fill all d 25 options.

Hey plz dnt mind just wanted to add smething.... if u get ny of ur 1st 5 options in round 1 only thn u have to take it or u r not eligible...

like in da eg. mentioned, chetana being in 8th position in round 1 u need not take it even if u r alloted dat college n u will still b eligible for round 2...

However in round 2 its top 10 options....in dat case u will have to take it...:)

Hi Mohit, I think you should check out last year's cut offs ranks for Indira Institute of management.
Although this year, the cut offs will be on the higher side. Plus also, it will be clear to you after the first 2 CAP rounds whether you stand a chance to get into Indira or not. A look at last year's cut offs which you will find on the DTE site will give you an approximate idea.Hope this helps.
P.S. For mumbai university students, you will find that cut offs in Pune are on the higer side.

Actually the people who pay so much are probably the people who have businesses running in mumbai itself and probably dont want to leave mumbai and after course completition they will be joining their own businesses... so for them its ok but for people who think they will get good placements at WE paying so much is going to be rip off

Just called DTE guys...they told that the notification will be out today at 5 pm..

The thing is welingkar is now doing a lot of advertising and starting many courses which gives a feeling to students that how desperately they are in need of students.. and on that they dont reveal the proper placement stats and stuff..i dont think the problem is with selling seats they are management quota seats after all but the issue s of hiding facts

Yeah Even I believe the same.Welingkar started in the year 1977,S.I.E.S in 1995 and Dalmia 1997. Even though Dalmia and SIES came so late they are slowly coming close to welingkar. They rank just below to welingkar.The main advantage that Welingkar have is its location and its alumni base. If Dalmia and SIES would have been in Bandra or so in near by areas rather than their present locations I think they would have surpassed Welingkar. Dalmia and SIES have very good name in industry within such a small time.Welingkar has maligned its image itself and if same things goes on a day will come when people will think twice before taking admission in Welingkar.

Yes my friend has checked out the rates with some agent (though i asked him to avoid agent)
.According to him pgdm rates are more realtime.Example chetana pgdm was being offered at some thing like 7,mms at chetana is much more now .

my friend turn down the offer. he was been asked 15 lakhs.He taught its better not to do an MBA rather than paying 15 lakhs.

One of my friends took SIBM for 15lacs. That's worth. Probably even i wud have given. Just met him today. He said SIBM mein life hain. Super busy schedule and chicks Oh God! All miss world and miss universe nominees prbbly :)

People can go to UK and study from a college 100times better than we and pay around 15l trust me these days seat selling is a bussiness the day is not far where we will have an official bidding for seats

This rule is not new but was there last year too.. once you take admission you are not eligible for cet next year

I have been watching this space since it's inception, I think people are getting frustrated, anxious, loosing temper, getting angry with the system these days because of the delay.

Let me tell you that every year each college has to get approval from AICTE for current intake and also for higher intake. Or even a new institute starting needs that approval. This time also the case is the same, and the culprit is AICTE :sneaky:. AICTE has recently declared latest approvals for different colleges on 29th june. I am not sure if the approval process is still left or its over.

But after a college gets an approval for current intake or revised intake, they have to report this to DTE. Accordingly DTE again publishes a Revised sanctioned intakes and you will see that on the website alongwith notification for CAP rounds.

So I guess its a little harsh to blame DTE for all the delay :nono:. Keep the same adranaline reserved when CAP rounds actually begins . Till then enjoy, as collegs would start immediately in August. Enjoy this vacation
