hello friends,
i have got enough information in respect to the mfc program in du but wanted to have some information regarding mhrod or mbe . i tried to look for thier respective threads but all in vain. anyone who is writing cat this yr(2006) ....interested in taking these exams too. plz if any of u has any knowledge about these programs plz do share it with us!!
i apologize for using this mfc thread for my queries but had no other option.

Hi nisha,

The selection process comprises a written test followed by GD n PI if u get thru written exam.
Paper pattern: Read the thread from first page.. u'll get a fair enuf idea of paper...in short the RC part is easy if u r good at CAT Language section.
Quants is more practical with emphasis on Compound interest, Profit Loss etc etc types topics.. Logic will be fundu section..
then GK..
sum examples: TRAI chairman, IRDA chairman, Deputy chairman of planning commission, The Headquarters of EU is located in which country ?
Vodafone has invested /taken a stake in which Indian company ?
FDI inflow into India in 2004 ?
What is the contribution of Agriculture to India's GDP?
What is sweat Equity?

Seats in open category: 22
For reserved candidates: 8
Total : 30

Regarding forms date: i hv already mentioned that.. read my post

Placements are commendable.....More details on website..

Institute is not a general MBA insti.. its a niche course in finance...be sure that u want to pursue ur career in finance ..no other specialisation offered

SOP bole to Statement Of Purpose. The max word limit is 400 words if I remember correctly and you are supposed to write why you wanna do MFC

Hi Rahul,

see MBA is Masters in Business administration. MFC is Masters in Finance in Control.
In MBA, u have to learn general management subjects in the first year and then decide upon Specialisation. To come to MFC, u hv to be have a clear understanding as to the Specialisation u intend to do is FINANCE only, because u cannot change the stream of Specialisation. that is u do not do masters in BA but have a degree of Masters in Finance. This is the difference that comes when u join other B-skools.

Here at MFC, we come straight to the point that is start with all Finance topics and then specialise in some specific sectors of Finace in 2nd year.

Placement wise, u can see the companies that have visited campus in past, for summers and final placements.
Talking abt summers , 32% of our students had foreign summer internships, in France.

I think for time being, this would suffice. Any other query , u can get back.

yeah anuj u might be right but its not so difficult to mange for an engineer to do finance as u mus know this year at MFC highest placement is fetched by an engineer so u cant say it is difficult although some probs will be thr but i believe he can manage

u've got yrself an impressive CV..... i personaly feel that if yr interested in finance then MFC is the place to be....... of course the decision becomes easier if one does not have the IIm's or fms... as far as i am concerned those are the only ones for which i would give up something like MFC......

the only place where MFC might loose and that is a might is, that its a university run program and has only 30 students a batch....... i have talked to alot of senior professionals in the industry and trust me its a very well respected course.......

So if finance seems to be yr calling in life....... then i guess the right decision to make should be MFC....
