To everyone who's aspiring for MET's MMS/PGDM aka PGDM e-Business/eMBA/Banking & Insurance -
After having gone through most of your queries and questions about whether you'll can make it or not, whether which course is good or not, what's the placement figure et al, I intend to answer it in one post-one shot.
Firstly, introducing myself, I'm Devesh Bhuwad - MET MMS 2011-13 batch (Finance) student and a batchmate of
@Aditi2412. I see that she's answered most of your queries but for those who still need deep dug answers, here you'll go.
This is the first year of CMAT and the Testing body seems to be actually testing and experimenting in the first year itself wherein they're allowing only 2 attempts. That's what I got to know of. So given the fact that we've had September CMAT and Feb CMAT already done, with May CMAT to come, till then nothing can be said of about the Cut-offs as you'll are not allotted the percentile it seems, (I'm not sure of this) plus there is May CMAT yet to come. So a Feb topper might as well have the bottom rank in May CMAT and hence giving a false prediction about any cut-off is completely dishonest on our part. Hence, our advice to you'll, focus on the May CMAT those who can give and score your best, for those who can't nail your GD PI well.
Secondly, MMS is a University acclaimed course, PGDM also known as PGDM e-Business is an AICTE approved course. eMBA is an autonomous certificate course NOT approved by AICTE NOR Univ of Mumbai and so is Banking and Insurance. PLEASE NOTE I'm not defaming or promoting any course here nor favoring any as the placements are entirely centralised unless the company has their own criteria of selecting students.
Thirdly, Placement numbers vary from year to year and I've given a big list of the numbers in this thread on probably Page No.2. You'll can check it there. Talking about current year's placements, if you'll read the newspaper and even if you'll don't you'd know there isn't much in the economy to offer in terms of Good jobs and so many a places hiring is frozen and companies are focusing on their bottomlines by hiring better talent at lower costs. So take it from me, Good profiles at decent to low packages, if you can digest it, take it otherwise feel free to give your shot at the Creme de la creme league of colleges. But talking in terms of growth, the profile based growth is maximum as growth is exponential rather than a plateau curve usually observed with jobs that pay high right at the start.
If any queries still persist beyond all this, feel free to ask. We're happy to help, always !
