I want to pursue my PG in marketing management. So wanted to know how the institute is for the same..Also I just wanted to clear a doubt. I am pursuing my B.Com externally from pune unviverty and having a work ex of 12 months so would i be elligible to pursue a full time MBA?

Heyy... I gave my MH-CET and I am a MS student with Mumbai University. I got 122 marks (93.18%-le) and I am a Gujju.:biggrin: I am interested in KJ Somaiya... Are there chances to get thru it if i tk up Gujju quota form or should I forget this college? Please help!!!!:banghead:

i read the previous post and a bit confused.
1)what cutoff is considered safe (in marks plz) excluding GD/PI in CET for OHU student (gujju quota)??

2) what is difference between gujju and management quota seats if both are done through merit list?? can one apply for both?

3) also is there seperate quota for OBC candidates??

1) 140-145/200 in CET has been a safe score for the last 2 years considering u score atleast 20/40 in GDPI. Mind well that percentiles is more important than marks which shud be arnd 99.7 for safe score

2) Gujju seats are reserved for gujarati whereas the management seats can be filled by the university as it wants. At Somaiya both are done on merit basis

3) No OBC Quota

1. Somaiya does not offer specialization in IT. They offer - Mktg., Fin, Operations, HR, International Business (IB) & Retail . Other institutes do offer specialization in IT.
2. Let me tell you IT is not sought after specialization in any college... its the last option - just like an engineer opting for production/civil/chemical. People who want to continue in IT industry specialize in mktg. & get into the business development side. Some opt for finance too. You may think about IB as a specialization as most of the IT revenue comes from export.
3. The cut off for somaiya CAT: 93 percentile; CET 99.6 percentile

your college started in full swing.. There will be brief by Placement Cordinator tomo at around 3 pm.
ON friday around 12 pm you will have brief from various committees in college. Your division will be decided randomly by college. Check with them when you join.
And last but not the least.. Welcome to everyone who got through to SIMSR.

HEY i did fill up the vacnt seats form n evn paid up the DD amt..
i was told if i got thru i wud not b required to pay the form amount
they wud adjust it,,

if u hvnt made this form amt dd thn u gotta make it 4 sure,

th collge will keep all the originals tht u are asked to submit.. but u wud hve one attested copy with you as well.. so tht wont be a problem..

th collge will keep all the originals tht u are asked to submit.. but u wud hve one attested copy with you as well.. so tht wont be a problem..
