Hi i will be trying this year for IIFT.... so can anyone help me in clearing few doubts?
1) Which is better Delhi or Kolkatta?
2) Would i be gven choice between the two...or we are jz given one of them based on our marks.... ? how is it decided?
3) Are IIFT exams similar to CAT or tougher consiering there are so few seats ??
4) Anything special i need to work on for GD PI ?
folks plz help me...i am really looking forward for ur replies... thanxx....

P.S- Since there are multiple queries on the WL movement, this is a snapshot of how the whole thing works-

There is no special waitlist per se for the Delhi campus and the Kolkata campus.. People in the Delhi list are required to provide a confirmation for their joining..

Say for eg- 140 people out of the 236 students confirm their joining.. Then the remaining seats in the Delhi campus are filled by people in the merit list of Kolkata..

People in the Kolkata list also need to pay some fees to be considered for waitlist movement to Delhi.. There are 80 students in the Kolkata list now.. Suppose 40 people drop out( due to movement to Delhi/ other personal reasons).. For filling up the remaining seats in Kolkata, IIFT will individually reach out to students(whose names are not present in either of the lists) by email and phone and are asked if they are interested in joining the Kolkata campus..

This is how the movement thingie works.. Hope you understood the process..

People in the Kolkata list will come to know of their initial movment only after the last date of payment of the 1st installment..

my score is 36.75, 3 years work ex, good PI, bad GD, average Essay.. no waitlist mail till now . I am very much disgusted. I think IIFT should ve been a bit transparent.

I am disappointed a bit, i scored 39.27 marks my gd and pi went ok type . But i am not even waitlisted anywhere . this i am writing because my 3 friends from indore whose score were around 37 -36 made it , but i not even got a waitist letter .
Perhaps , I am a doctor and they are Engineer .

IIFT K has all facilities as IIFT D has. We lack only a campus. The pedagogy and course curriculum is same. Placements happen together. Being a fresher wont reduce your chances at all. Evaluate wht options u have and then take a call. Personally, I feel that you should not leave a golden opportunity.

Well here's the deal there were two doctors and two physiotherapists in my batch, 2009-11. The doctor in delhi batch got places with a leading american bank for an FRM profile bcos he was into Finance, the doctor from the kolkata batch was placed with a PSU which is also a bank but later switched to apollo hospitals on her own(off campus) as a service line manager one of the physios from Kol batch got placed with a logistics firm as a ship broker... so i would say there are loads of opportunities here too and you can take a call about it depending on your other calls and their placement records. Sorry abt not disclosing the names im not sure how the placecomm would take that but all three are good brands to be associated with
