dude, its the NORMALISATION of cat that has screwed. with the kind of students getting into IIM'S and FMS this year, more than us it is these colleges which are going to suffer. in any case, all the best dude, and hope you convert IIFT soon and your excruciating days come to an end.

Ok, so here's the latest update on the WL movement at IIFT ::
1> 11th of June happens to be the last date for Fee submission at IIFT. So those who are going to pull out are requested to do so immediately.
2> 15th of June is the day that they are going to freeze the admissions into IIFT-D. So any further movement related info will only be clear after that date. Furthermore, the lady (who happened to be quite helpful, tbh) has requested us to inquire only after the 15th of June.
3> Those who are currently in Kol list will get a mail in the coming days about hostel allotment et all and will need to get that cleared and paid (confirmation needed though about this)

Btw, I am currently No#2 in the Kol list and was No#44 before that.

Dear Seniors,

I was waitlisted earlier and converted Kolkata after the first movement. Still waiting for Delhi but not too hopeful of a transfer.

However, I need to apply for an education loan. In case, for some reason, if there is a change of campus, will it affect the proceedings/formalities for the loan? I intend to apply soon now that the movement is more or less confirmed.

Didn't expect so less movement specially after last year's 100+100+ 3rd WL. I guess even IIFT admission office didn't expect that before giving the Waitlist for this year. No doubt normalization & more colleges taking CAT score have ensured so few overlaps! :nono:

So the WL has moved by about 40 people. I guess at WL no.66 for Delhi, I should not really hope for Delhi then.

here's the update..i was waitlisted at 13 for Kolkata after 1st waiting list..now mine is confirmed..

I called and they asked to call in half an hour.

don't worry buddy, sports is taken care of at kolkata. there is a lot of Football(bengal influence) and bit of other sports as well :)
there is an annual sporting event, Titanomachy comprising Cricket, Football, T.T., Badminton etc.

Just to put things in perspective, I was at WL no. 64 when the first list came out. After the first movement, i converted K and if I remember correctly, the WL moved upto no. 74. Also, I am/was the 66th guy in line for Delhi.

Anyways, let's hope the admin team have something to share with us tomorrow.

Like you,I wud also hope the WL moves significantly this tym,but going by the doc being circulated,there were 30 definite withdrawls aftr 1st movement.So a person WL 19 for K was sure to convert K anyways...We cannot judge the quantum of WL movement based on this info..But I do hope there is a large WL movmnt this tym....

guys, please stop criticizing IIFT, it is going to be our alma-mater......a mother that equips its children to earn their bread and butter.
its just that, in a passenger train it takes 3 days for your tickets to get confirmed but in a rajdhani express it takes more than a month.

you have no idea how big a deal is it to secure a seat in IIFT.

i know people quitting a seat in an IIM, FMS and numerous other prestigious business schools in the west to study "international business" in IIFT, the only college governed by the ministry of commerce of a country with such a gigantic GDP, tremendous growth and un-quantifiable diversity in the way business is done.

if IIM-A is virendar sehwag, IIFT is sachin tendulkar. if XLRI-J is akshay kumar, IIFT is salman khan and if ISB-H is is anu malik, then i must say IIFT is A.R.Rehman.
i hope the difference is clear now.

IIFT no doubt has an extremely transparent admission procedure , but this excessive delay which happens in every waitlist movment is really saddening.

Last date of fee submission was last tuesday . How it can take more than a week really astounds me
