IIFT does feature in the A-list of all the nationalised banks (SBI, BoI, Syndicate Bank etc.). You should get a loan from them without any collateral. Their rates are around 11pc. Go to them individually and enquire. The loan typically gets approved in 1-2 days. They even give loan for the foreign exchange programs.

Private banks may have many processing fees and hidden charges. My personal opinion is to go for a nationalised bank. The bank executive might not come to your doorstep, but you will be saved of lots unforeseen troubles later on.

What i have seen from last years' posts in pagalguy, u will get convert in 1st list itself for Delhi.

And barring some results to be out this year (IIM Indore, Kozhikode and new Ones and FMS), if not 1st list, u will definitely make it to the 2nd list.

SBI provides loan at 12% but yes, they may take longer in sanctioning the loan.

From this year onwards, SBI has raised the upper limit for the loan amount for IIFT students to 15L without any collateral. These details are still not on the site but was confirmed by a fellow IIFT convert (who is an SBI employee) on the FB group of IIFT 2012-14 Converts.

I called up the IIFT D admissions office. The person at the other end of the line told me that we have to call up at around 27th April to know our status. You can also get to know if your DD has reached the office.

sab jagah sirf wo stairs ya gole k charo taraf khade bando ka hi photo dikhta hai..

As the last day for the submission of first installment fee for the people who converted is 25th April, you can expect the first movement to be taking place within a week. But no idea about when will you convert your waitlist.

-1 to your waitlist number. Will not be taking IIFT D (gen) seat.
For now have some other converts and considering those.

No, you have to have a laptop while you join IIFT as online quizzes are taken in classes. SO PC's won't serve the purpose.

hi friends...nice initiative to start such a thread and bring together future iiftians....i hope i am one of them.....anyway coming to my query i want to know whether working with my father will be counted as a work ex....i was working with earth infrastructure but now wants to join my father business and i will be handling a complete corrugated box manufacturing unit...i want to enquire whether it will be counted as a full time work ex or not.....

If it's a legally registered company and you can provide a relevant work ex certificate with salary slips then yes, it can be counted as a full time work-ex.

Can I use the same Affidavit forms sent by the college for filling or do I need to get it re-typed?

Yes U need to sign twice in the single sheet..
Oath Commissioner is a kind of notary which u can find in abundance outside a court.
I would suggest not to use the same form as the soft copy of same is available with the notary.. He will just fill ur name and other details and get a print on a stamp paper..Which u ll hav to get signed by a oath commissioner... To give u an idea, I paid Rs.50 per affidavit.

For the comprehensive viva at the end of the first year, the syllabus includes all the subjects of 3 trimesters and similarly for the comprehensive viva at the end of the second year, the syllabus includes all the subjects of all 6 trimesters.

and i thought i was done with grand vivas..........grrr

At the end of the third trimester, there is a "Comprehensive Viva". Is it a Viva of only the third trimester subjects or ALL subjects of the first year?
Similarly, for the Comprehensive Viva at the end of the sixth trimester, do we need to prepare the FULL 2 year syllabus?

Going by the last year's trend the Wait list went beyond 200.But again it all depends on how many converts overlap with other calls.
If IIFT has given a WL of 200, that gives more hopes than had it been some lesser number. Hope the picture gets clearer by month end after the 1st fee deadline!

Yeah, the Kolkata campus has its sports fest too, 'Titanomachy'. there are sports like cricket, football, table tennis etc...

I will be cancelling my admission to IIFT once I get my I-20 and visa approved

Don't worry. They send the offer letter 2 times- one by speed post and the other by registered post. The one that you received today may be got a bit delayed.

IIFT has a sports fest of its own, held inside the Delhi campus...It is called the Ultimate Warriors League(UWL), where teams and players are bought based on the highest bids...a complete sporting extravaganza that lasts for around 10 days...for more info, u all can go through the link provided below:
