Adding to this, I also know few people from last year who had an awesome score but couldn't convert. So this essay-GDPI process is very very important. You cannot relax until you see your name in the final list.

OBC NC 34 Not possible....I was getting 37-39 according to various keys but didn't get a call :nono::nono::nono:....when will they upload the scorecard????...

yea true...well all i am saying is jus wait for tommorow...score card will be out...if your score is good enuf...then you can easliy claim your call and they will take no time in calling you...last year xlri did tht...and am sure iift will do the same!..all the best!

If the cut offs are 34 then it wud be very unlikely that a guy with 42+ get lesser than 34
and apart from that this cud happen with 1-2 ppl not with everyone from same category

they should have mentioned the no of calls in various category along with the cut off scores

There is nothing surprise if IIFT didn't have Sectional cutoffs for past years since getting high score in a single sections(Quant or DI or Reasoning) which eventually made you to get overall cutoff is very difficult as paper is always difficult and even getting below 1/3 of Total score is difficult. 2010--33.**(not including the additional score) and 2009 29.**

But if the paper is easy like this year ans didn't have cutoff like allowing the negative scores in a section then its a big surprise...

ager obc ka creamy bana kar general kar dete hai , toh why not same with sc/st , itni disparity kyu , as if everybody is not equal before law.

Yeah when wll d damn score card come out...IIFT lost respect...I mean dere admission procedure..was gettin a score of 42(TF) yet didn't get a call...bt anywys good luck to all call getters..

The scorecard needs to be out.
Else this might be the next big controversial thing after CAT .

A bird in hand is always better than two in the bush... unless u have cleared the admission process don't even think of resigning (entirely my personal opinion ) ...
try to manage your time better ...and i dont think joining a coaching institute for gd/pi is going to make a huge difference..but yes i would like to suggest you something ...
1.Awareness of important political,social and econmical changes in India and around the world is necessary (Newspapers like ET ,HINDU or TOI may come in handy )
2.Knowledge about important organisations like WTO,IMF,WORLD BANK ,SAARC,ASEAN etc is very much important.. (WIKIPEDIA zindabaad )
3.Even if u don't like reading books or novels(like me) u have to do it buddy ...(and preferably non-fiction )...

Maybe they have two types of cutoffs... one with sectional score and one total... if u clear all sectional cutoff is lesser else for 0 or negative scores in some section overall score has to be more... is something like this a possibility?

I think there are only 120 seats in Delhi and 60 Seats in Kolkata....

Friend see my recent post and the attachment, as per that IIFT delhi has 160 seats and kolkata campus has 60 seats

Regarding the no of seats, whatever they say on the site or on forums, the no of seats is very unlikely to go up. It will remain at 150 for Delhi and 60 for Kolkata.

dear friend as per IIFT and pagalguy website the no of seats in IIFT Delhi campus is 160 and Kolkata campus is 60 and total of 220 not 210. I have attached the source of this information. This information is last year's and they are not going to reduce the no of seats for sure and in pagalguy on Nov 1st there was a article that OBC seats in IIFT will increase since they are not following 27 % yet so from this year they will follow the norms of 27% reservation for OBC.

Regarding the no of seats, whatever they say on the site or on forums, the no of seats is very unlikely to go up. It will remain at 150 for Delhi and 60 for Kolkata.
Concentrate on other exams at the moment(XAT/SNAP). the gd/pi would start in the last week of jan(30th jan last year). join a coaching class after your exams and prepare for IIFT specific GD(one hour GD). Essay writing being an important part. In PI- foreign trade and international business will be the focus, though it depends on your day and luck and the mood of the interviewer. Visit previous experiences thread on PG. you will get a general idea about the IIFT process. practice a lot, mock GDs and PIs are essential for your prep.
the weightage last year was: 65% IIFT score, 10% essay, 10% GD and 15% PI. can't say if it would be the same for this year too.

How many times hv we heard dis dat practice makes a man perfect...so its always good if one cud go thru some mock GD/PI sessions...it helps in boosting one's confidence...
But the way IIFT conducts its GD is way different from other institutes...it generally lasts for 45 to 50 mins...the total group size wud be around 10...each member wud be initially asked to speak for 2 minutes....post which the house wud be open for discussion...one wud get plenty of chances to enter and put forth his/her views...so in case, u wont be able to get thru some mocks, just make sure dat u r well versed with the recent happenings around the world...dat wud do a world of good...Good Luck...

Also y i m asking this Q is coz m doin job in remote location n for coaching , i have to take a month leave frm my job to go to some city for coaching . ( A month leave is almost impossible to get seeing the present situation of my company..).

Possible options - (Only 1) resign

So plz guide accordingly what shud i do ???

I was getting 38.25 as per TIME and 40.25 as per TF (also all sections were above 0)but still no call. I am a General candidate.

guys, i know a person, a very good friend of mine who was getting 45+ and had excellent academic record, excellent extra-curriculars and could not get through. IIFT keys might differ from TIMS/CL/TF/IMS keys, which might have reduced the marks we were getting. let IIFT give the score cards, then we'll come to know what happened.
we don't want this thread to be closed by mods....so please be patient.

Clearly there appears to be a significant sectional cut off.... My score was around 48 too as per CF and I am through... My minimum score per section is 30% plus... (it was a delibrate attempt on my part as I wasnt sure sure whether there would be sectionals or not....) However these are again just speculations... Once the score cards are available puys will post their break up and we will get to know the exact criteria....

Another thing, IIFT has called fewer candidates this time... Ratio of seat to calls last year was 1:5 but this year seems to be 1:4 ..... Perhaps they had decided on a minimum sectioanl cut off and chose only those who cleared that score..... Lets wait and watch...
