Guys just little thing here, Last year cutt off was 33-34



Stats of Poll for similar thread last year( http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/other-exams-xat-iift-irma/60433-28th-november-2010-iift-2010-a.html) shows that 10+6+6+7 = 29% people were expecting scores above the cut off . The thing here is around 23% people by now are expecting above 44 which may decrease over the time to 22% . By this logic if we extrapolate the results the over all cut off must be somewhere 42-43.

As we know that 2 and 3 options are definitely good course of action...
But in my opinion option 1 should also be a course of action as Publishing forcast in media would give warning to farmers and associated person..thus they can take damage control measures and can prepare themselves ...
So i think all three are correct so i marked D as the answer....
Plz tell me why option 1 can't be the course of action...

The reason to avoid going to the media with a news of drought + crop apocalypse next year would be the hysteria it creates.
Re-read the exact statement and think about last words... try to connect it with above reason

TF is also wrong in some cases, for example in the reported speech questions....
so you need to see both the keys and use google too...

So CL and TF predicts the following scores for me :

TF = 47.33

I have a feeling that cutoff will be quite close to 45 to 50...

Saar, i think we should make an excel doc so that we come to know the actual numbers....i think there are lots of fake votes....

Ummm...so according to TF, with a score of 51/99 I have a national percentile of 15.35,

I kinda find that hard to believe.

Either TF sucks, or there's this huge crowd who really cracked the paper bigtime!

IMO I feel all 3 needs to be done. As first of all one has to publish and make people aware of such threat for their actions to be effective. I mean this is just a bulletin, not a news piece.

IIFT Delhi and Kolkata have a common written exam cut-off. All those who clear the exam go thru the second round of selection. After both rounds are done, scores are tabulated as follows (based on last year's process)
Written - 65%
GD/ PI/ Essay - 35%

Students are then ranked in decreasing order of their scores and the preferred campuses are awarded in the order of merit.

Looking at the fast changing expected score polls, I think the below observtions are not out of place:

1. Not all students will come and post their scores on PG. Its only the ones who regularly access PG. Logically, those who access PG will be better prepared for such exams. Therefore, a lot of students who are posting here are from the "well-prepared" category.
2. Even regular PG members who are not expecting a good score (read over 35 or so) will see the point of posting their scores in the poll as a futile exercise.

From 1 and 2, we can assume that the 24-25% of students getting a score of 44+ is not a true representative of the actual scene.

My guesstimate says that this 25% translates to roughly 5% given the overall scenario... However as IIFT usually calls about 5x the number of seats each year, this year the number of calls should be about 1100-1200 at most. Assuming 60K applicants it equals to roughly 2% of the total number of applicants. Assuming the 44+ scores to predominantly constitute scores between 44 and 52 (highst score reported here is 60 odd but thats a one-off case so far), my guesstimate is an overall cut-off of about 47.xx .. (My own score as per TF is 46.xx)

Lets wait and watch

1) If is more like IF-then-else kindof statements, "whether" just fits better.

Even I would like to go with CL. Cutoffs will be in the range 35-37 due to some reasons:

1)In Pagalguy, we have some of the best puys in India who are actually "serious about their MBA career". Hence I wont be shocked if all the puys out here say "I am expecting 40+ score". Basically, not many people who ant serious about their MBA are in PG, and mind it the number is definitely a considerable amount.

2)All puys before solutions were expecting roundabout 40plus scores, but even before the answer keys we saw close to 20 pages of answer discussions where I could find close 30-40 people having different answers through various sections. Due to this, the expected score for each person may come down and for some it has come down.

3)Before the answer keys it was looking as 40+ would be the cutoff score but now it seems 37 or even 35 is a decent score...

Mind you puys with less scores arent putting down their scores here.

4)Close to 1200 puys will be called, and till now we have only 42+ clearing the 40-mark, but if we consider the 35/37-mark, we have close to 80 people in this thread. And ofcourse, like I said there may be many people in India getting 40+ but who ant members of PG, but that number overall would be less, like I mentioned in my first point, people serious about their MBA careers always see visit PG atleast once in a day.

5)Last year cutoffs were 32-34...This time with an easier paper,cutoff would go high by max 5marks. Do not forget that IIFT has questions of weightages not more than 1 (0.5,.0.75 and 1) unlike CAT and other exams.

TCY online has given wrong answers to both the synonym questions.

Unrelenting, should have Inexorable as its answer. It is marked incorrectly as impregnable which mean in-conquerable or impenetrable.

Also, Topiary is the correct answer for ornamental cutting of shrubs, and not pruning as marked.

Testfunda has a more reliable answer scheme.

No point in speculating scores and the cut-offs. The key that matters is safely ensconced in the IIFT office and unfortunately we cannot access it. So let us close the IIFT chapter and move on to SNAP, TISS and XAT. And in my personal opinion, anybody getting a score above 38 is good enough to crack all the remaining tests.

Sum comes out as max 15 , so one set of digits can be 1 2 3 4 5. Using these we can get 120 numbers.

Next if we remove any one number, we can add a 0, but again the sum should be a multiple of 12. So the only other combination here is 0 1 2 4 5, Using these we can make 96 numbers

So total 216 numbers. Answer should be none of these.

ya.. well i guess there is a small mistake there.. the percentile given shows the number of people above us, rather than the number of people below us.. So if it is showing 5 percentile, ur actual percentile is 95..!! :):)..!!
P.S m getting 4.60 now.. which means 95.4..!!

With a score of 47.58 I am getting 97.xx % ile .. do u mean to say that actually I have 2.xx % ile... I dont believe you... There is something wrong indeed!!!!
