I spoke to admission incharge and gt to know that on 15th Dec at 10:55pm (night) the result will be declared and admission policy will be same as that of last year.
Other good news is that this time they are increasing 10 seats :)

The increased 10 seats are for general category.In all 20 seats have been increased

Just Off the record,

for me IIFT 2012 was somewhat magical...
I filled the application form (using online payment)...forgot to send the printout to IIFT office...Lost all hopes of giving the exam...

5 days before CAT, I recieved my IIFT Admit Card with instruction that I have to hand out filled printout at Exam centre...

@ Exam Centre...again forgot to hand over the printout when IIFT co-ordinator visited the room...again lost hope...

While leaving the centre...just ran into him and handed over the form to him (he said it was mandatory otherwise I would have been disqualified)...

Now results...recieved mix results from test-keys...again loosing hope...

Hoping that IIFT result will restore my hope again

Top B schools across the globe dont give a shit about ur 10th 12th grades. they don't even bother to ask you in the application forms.Dont mislead people............. even among Indian B schools IIMC does not care about ur past academic performance.

1. IIMC calls candidates with a very high CAT score... This is already known... I seriously did not get this point of yours.
2. FMS Delhi student (Shashank, also a PG mod) recently posted that nothing is official yet.. You are again posting wrong info... Profile based calls are not yet decided by the FMS administration.
3. I never said 37 was the cut-off.. I wrote "people with as low as 37 marks got calls". I do not know the exact official cut off as IIFT did not declare it officially as far as I know...

I do not know about other colleges, but I can safely inform you that IIFT doesn't has any such criteria till last year and I don't see it introducing it for years to come. IIFT has one of the most rigorous admission process involving written exam, essay writing, group discussion and personal interviews. Not to forget the 10-12 question booklet that you will have to fill if you are called for the interviews. So it judges a person based on what he currently is, and not on what he was 7-8 years back.

P.S. FYI there is a person in this year's batch who has 48% in his 12th standard. He made it because he had it in him and he isn't doing bad. :)

May be he would be SC/ST if u r frm reserved category then u may get chance for low scores.This is not the case for GENERAL .48% is will be accepted for OBC also.Please think before u post ur baseless comments

2. Are you not aware that IIFT called candidates with scores as low as 37 last year?
3. What if someone met with an accident on board exam day? Will you label him a non performer for his misfortune?

My dad was in hospital recuperating from Bypass Surgery when i was out appearing for my boards (i still managed decent marks but it could easily have been the other way round. I personally am wholeheartedly against shutting a door to a deserving candidate because of past failures/ misfortunes...... )

GUYS,
I think dose u hv been doing well throughout dere life ought to deserve more for the pain dey have taken but it doesnt mean other shld not get the oppurtunity to redeem himself/herself.Also since in india we hv various state boards apart from other central ones where marking pattern vary for eg in bihar board and say in pune student getting 60-65 is a decent score while such is not the case in state boards across south india.So dere shld some other methods like normalizing scores across board would be gud idea.
we can have long debate about dis but guys finally deserving one shld get thru..:)

yeah thats the whole point......if u fail to score once in ur life,u dont deserve a second chance...That has become the whole criteria for admission in almost all the decent B-Schools in India.i think it is quite unfair....

there might be some genuine reasons for an under-performance: health, etc. etc. you never know...so if somebody has just one low score in his life(due to genuine reasons) and has been good otherwise, is it justified to keep them from getting where they want to? don't think as a spectator, keep yourself in that postition and then think.....

Finally IIFT's queries came to an end.
The cut off will be 36-38 for gd/pi and there will be no sectional cut off.
However this time they are making profile based calls.
Anyone >65% in grad,10th,12th will only be considered!!

this step is good ;a consistent hard working guy is better than some one very much inconsistent and at sometimes very much hardworking and at other times odd ..
