Do you have any Anti Virus software installed in your PC/Lappy, Suntia? If yes, then UPDATE the definition files of your Antivirus software and SCAN your PC/Lappy. If you don't have any, then download A free (But VERY affective) AV software by clicking HERE.

And also try installing an adware buster like "Adaware" or "Spy Bot S&D;". Click HERE to install Adaware. Once installed, UPDATE the definiton files and SCAN your PC/Lappy.

And to keep your PC/Lappy TOTALLY out of any prying eyes, you can also install a firewall. I've been using Zone Alarm for over 5 years now and I feel it's pretty good. You can download it HERE.

Caution: Install a firewall ONLY if you know are decently competent in computers or else, it'll be pretty difficult to manage.

Conclusion: Not having an Antivirus, Adware buster and a firewall is like not having doors and windows to your home.

Do shoot your queries if you have any!

I think most of us agree tht icfai is a decent name to have by ur side and it's so gud to know tht all of us joining icfai this time are strong minded about making icfai better.Puys i think up till now we haven't discussed the quota system tht is being bought about,Plz post ur views on the same.As for me i think it's an a bad move coz it will not only kill talent but will b of no use whatsoever to ppl who r actually backward.Education needs to be promoted, for the actual backward ppl, at the grass root level and reserving seats for someone at the graduate or the Post graduate level doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

I also agree with those ppl who r trying to highlight d positive sides abt ICFAI............jst few days to go to start our classes n at this time saying bad words abt d insititute not sounds good in parts of a would be manager......may be entrepenure.......after all its our choice to join this institute........nobody forced us.............I hv found many ppl asking d questn to join or not to join even discouraging me to join.........for those ppl I want to say that why they didn't do research abt ICFAI b4 giving d IBSAT.......n now after paying installment they r confused..........managers' have to be decisive abt their future...........every b-schools hv some good things n bad things...........n we hv to survive in it by adjustment..........................a good student helps his insitute to climb d top ranking n makes it popular..........whereas a reputed b-school tag may fail to fetch a good job to a student unless he has brain n determination....................

despite being a icfai student-i wont defend icfai just coz im a part of it-bt yes lets be practical-if u have any other BETTER option go for it-if nt thn there is no dearth of oppurtunities in icfaiu too-for the right man.and if u r thinking of sropping one year-analyse stuff hard as 1 yr is a long time-i regret wasting it tdy.....so if u r sure tht u can give ur 100% undivided effort to preparations,whtevr be the results-thn go for it.

exactly what i was tryin to put across.Sorry for the iim error (my oh my!!)I have corrected it.Joining an institute is a personal choice and an important one.But then waiting to give the cat another time and taking a risk of another year is also an important choice to make.you really never know whats in store. The best thing is to be true to yourself and not lie.If you think that the cat can be cracked go ahead there is nothing better than that.But if in doubt it's better to take what's in front of you.Another point to remeber is that a tag from a good school helps but only so much.The rest is up to you.A few of the biggest businesmen don't have mba's the best example is that of laksmi mittal and richard branson.Mba is a means to an end not the end itself.Placements are a value of a person and not really the college.The formula is simple.Be in the top 10 percentile and you will touch sucess wherever you may study.

Even i got thru IBS mumbai and i am joinig it becoz the general opinion seems to be that it's quiet decent if not gr8.Yes u are very rite in saying that the infrastructure is bad coz a B-school having 2 buildings with 2 floors each is not really how one imagines a gud B-school to be.On a more positive note i have interacted with some of the seniors from IBS mumbai and they are quiet satisfied with their overall experience(faculty+internships+library+placements) at IBS.Also plz check out this link

& whoever is confused bout the decission,plz do a SWOT ananlysys before taking the decission,if u thnk that u can crack thru top 10 instis then plz dnt join ICFAI(exception Hyd).I got thru Mumbai & I'm joining coz i know my value before doin MBA is less than my value after doin MBA so instead of wasting 1 more precious year & getting thru a decent insti nxt time dsnt make sense to me at all coz i m sure that it wnt be possible fr me to get thru the top 10 instis if i continue w my job & i dont wanna leave my job & prepare again.

So the point here is vry individualistic,& obviously ppl who r nt gud enuf to be placed in campus wl talk crap bout the insti,it happens evrywhere,u shd nt compare urself w them,y dnt u thnk about the guy who got a package of 8L & since the package is increasing evry yr,may be i wd get more than that when I pass-out...Just beleive in urself--& most important-know urself-ur capabilities.

Sometimes, it so happens that, some students with VERY LOW CGPA, might not get placed with profiles of their liking or with salaries of their liking. So, in this unlikely scenario, these people have the choice of joining the research wing (Or something like that! Don't remember the exact name. Please do correct me if I'm wrong.) of ICFAI.

This is done to acheive 100% placements across the campuses. But then, this is for students with VERY LOW CGPA. So, if you're good enough, then, you don't have to worry about it.

There are some positives as well as negatives while working for the research wing:

The Positives being that, you're paid pretty well for someone who's CG is not that great.

Negative(s): AFAIK, the growth opportunities are less. And the job's mundane.

I checked the website. It shows name of nearly 600 students. So i am assuming, most have got placed. Regarding "recruiting student as Faculty", I read it in comment 1333. So was bit confused. Any way thanks to all who gave helpfull advice to me. I have got some ICFAI Hyd student numbers , and i am going to call them today. Also i have found out a guy(friend's friend) from ICFAI bombay who is currently in TCS. I will ask him also. I have to dig into this matter

After trying hard for 2-3 years to get good school and after failing in securing admission, i think ICFAI Hyd was only option. i have sent 2 DD. But got confused afterword.
I am not going for another CAT attempt.
getting better school compared to ICFAI Hyd would be rather challanging task...because, in the past also i have not able to convert calls into admissions after getting good scores. GD is bottleneck. PI - no problem.
so i am not sure that i will be able to get better college.
for these reasons itself, i choose to go for Hyd ...but later got confused after reading stories of recruiting student as ICFAI faculty to show 100% placement.
is it true that they have avg placement of 4.5?
or do they hire student as ICFAI faculty and inflate avg salary figures?

I am also going to join ICFAI Hyd
I am from pune
I have 2 years of work Ex in MBT(BE- IT)..the package is also good 3lakh
but was not interested in coding

tried cat,snap... got scores of 85-89 percentile for 2 consecutive years in cat
got 90 in snap this year
took gd pi of siib,KJ,Welngkar,Nirma but could not get into it
I was not going to take CAT or other mba entrance again
so this was last year of atempt
so when got into Hyd i was confused.. whether to go icfai,hyd or not....
but as i want to do MBA and this is my last attempt....so took admission into icfai Hyd

I hope to do MBA in finance+International business
i hope that this will be value addition to my profile?
and hope this decision clicks for me and my future!!!

Dont forget the fees which is exorbitant to say the least...utne main symbi main donation deke admn ho sakti hai.Cmon guys gimme sum gud points abt icfai mumbai .... coz i have heard that it its not really worth it from some of the alumni people themselves. The infrastructure is rotten to say the least. They even go on to say that the 100% placement record is achieved by offering the students to join as faculty at other teaching centres of ICFAI as a whole. And even the avg placement of 4.5 Lacs is a crap! Now fearing this I am planning to drop the whole idea of joining the institute, but before that i want to get things cleared and who else to contact but YOU.



1) All I want to know is that since MUMBAI stands at rank 2 and in case of cancelletions at Hyderabad which is at rank 1, the students who have got admn at mumbai automatically qualify for the top ranked institute.

So now the situation is, although I have submitted my 1st installment of 30,000 at IBS, mumbai, I would be pursuing the course if and only if I get IBS hyderabad, or else i wud go back to the job option.

Can sumbody pls help me out with this? Who is the concerned authority? and what is the right procedure to get the seat at hyderabad? I know everyone who applies for ICFAI wants only hyderabad but i just want to know that whther i stand a chance or not, since cancelletion of admns at hyderabad is inevitable and some seats do get vacant, and depending on the merit I am sure the vacant seats must then be offered to deserving candidates.I dont even know what is the IBSAT score i achieved.

Congrats to all who have got in ICFAI Hyderabad!

I am also going to join ICFAI Hyd
I am from pune
I have 2 years of work Ex in MBT(BE- IT)..the package is also good 3lakh
but was not interested in coding

tried cat,snap... got scores of 85-89 percentile for 2 consecutive years in cat
got 90 in snap this year
took gd pi of siib,KJ,Welngkar,Nirma but could not get into it
I was not going to take CAT or other mba entrance again
so this was last year of atempt
so when got into Hyd i was confused.. whether to go icfai,hyd or not....
but as i want to do MBA and this is my last attempt....so took admission into icfai Hyd

I hope to do MBA in finance+International business
i hope that this will be value addition to my profile?
and hope this decision clicks for me and my future!!!

What are ur opinions?
