Hey the list of SBI branches where form is available are clearly given in FMS FAQ page. Anyway, these are the SBI branches frm wer u can buy the form.
Adyar, Besant Nagar, Madras University, IIT Chennai

So Adyar and Besant Nagar will be the nearest ones to Thiruvanmiyur. Others are also not distant na. But their stock may already have ended in some branches. So better call them up before going there. You can use the Branch Locator service in SBI website to get the phone number of branches.

I have posted the form on 28th October via speed post.I want to know latest by which date i will receive my admit card?Is there any need of calling up fms for confirmation of receiving the parcel.I have entered my form application number and name on the backside of the photo.But while pasting it the fevicol has blurred it to some extent.Will that b a problem?

In PUNE UNIVERSITY...the degree carries the percentage of final year.....and the same is considered in various colleges including NITIE.....though my agg. is 55...i am expecting 60+ in the final yr and hence the degree....
can you plz confirm it at your admissions office and revert back ?

It looks like most of our discussion have taken route of filling forms & understanding the eligibility, It is good that many doubts are getting cleared here. But now that we are roughly two months & a little more away from FMS and one month away from 2009-2010 Exam season, we should continue our discussions regarding preparations.

Sushant Bahadur and other seniors can throw light on:-

1) What all aspirants should concentrate in the days to come?
2) What should be the approach from now on since prep route will take a sudden turn of facing real tests ?
3) How to cope up with differences in preparation.
4) Various hints on different sections QA, RC, VA, DI, LR, etc.
4) And on any other point I missed.

These questions have been answered many times previously. I'll just add some additional points.
You should get a lot of time to prepare before fms (after all other exams). It'll be sufficient if you already preparing for CAT.

Download as many mocks for fms you can get hold of (they wont be many anyways). Solve all of them in as less time as possible. FMS has always focussed on speed in past. I remember finding arbit incomplete sections of past mocks online - solve them too. I'll try to upload stuff in dec. end.
Write all time, cl, ims etc etc mocks for fms . (they usually have one each starting around christmas time-they also usually have clashing date and time - dont make urself happy with that excuse - find out ways !!)

There is a high probability of forgetting all your quant essentials by January. Please do invest time in revising basic formulae and stuff week before fms. If the pattern of last year verbose quant question continues, you should not waste time remembering Basics in the exam!

Grammar - I strongly suggest know your grammar for fms. (its a pity if you dont know basic grammar once in a b-skool !) Pick up class 9/10 Wren & Martin. Browse through all basic chapters. It shouldnt take more than 8 hours(but distribute this time over 4days). Focus on modifiers and agreement (if u dont know their usage, u r committing a sin by speaking english )
In any interview, do know that you dont introduce yourself by saying 'myself mr. xyz' - its pathetic language. U shall know this once you browse w&m.;

Vocab - incase you are weak at vocab - there's not much you can do now. Pick any coaching vocab guide. Skim all words that dont sound too heavy to you for important letters such as : A, C, E, I, M, N, P, R, S, T.

Idioms - Learn all by heart from all mocks. Pick up a guide (online perhaps) and see all that dont sound heavy.
I am emphasizing on browsing all those that dont sound heavy because all vocab and idioms which come in paper- u must have heard atleast 70% in ur life once before - but u dont remember them -- browsing helps recollect atleast 75% of that 70% !!

DI/LR in fms is simple but tricky. Practise 100 questions in the 2 weeks before exam. It is usually different from CAT style di.

Sleep well (atleast 5hours) before fms paper. You can not solve these questions if you are not absolutely alert. I suggest you do not solve any questions one day before exam. It'll exhaust you silently.

All the suggestions above are not from any coaching institute. They are all my personal past experience and jugaad ! I do not wish to impose these and misguide anybody :biggrin:

1. I got email confirmation one week after registering.
2. We won;t get any completed form at the end. And there is no need to send any form to them for General candidates applying online.

I have a doubt .. I am sure everyone applying Online has the same doubt and none of the replies
have clearly answerd it.

As per the FAQ on website .. After online submission of the form nothing is mentioned to be sent to FMS office nor have they mentioned what we have to do .

So those who have filled form online ,

1 - In item 8 (choice of test centre) , there is a box in the beginning followed by 1st choice, 2nd and 3rd. So does that mean what we enter in the first box should be repeated under 1st choice ?

2 - should the email id be in small letters or capital letters ?

3 - in SSC board , national board of high school examination refers to CBSE huh ? ( I did 10th in CBSE ).

4 - I have few months work ex in a private company. In the box titled "Organisation(s) in which candidates possess experience" , I need to shade "private" under just 1 right ? 2,3,4 etc are not relevant to me na ? Similarly, in "period of services" box, i need to enter the duration in year and months ( for example : 14 months = 1year 2 months) only under 1 right ?

5 - For other boxes regarding designation and monthly salary, i need to fill only under 1 na ?

Pl clarify and tell me if I have understood things the right way... This form is highly confusing :(

I purchased the FMS application form from SBI.
I want to post my FMS application form. But on the envelop it is mentioned that we have to submit "Three copies of Admission Ticket".
Now I did not get any admission ticket in the brochure that I bought. So where am I supposed to get these admission tickets from...???

FMS Specific: I guess we have discussed in the initial pages about the role played by vocab, idioms and quick maths in the FMS test. Similarly, the role of having a 50%ile eligibility is another factor which has been discussed. If anyone wants to take this further, or has any queries which have not been answered, I would be happy to help.

2) What should be the approach from now on since prep route will take a sudden turn of facing real tests ?

Now, I believe, the focus should be more on the lines of writing tests and then analyzing them in detail. Still, the number of tests taken in a week can be 2 or at max 3, bcoz analysis is an integral part of the test.

How and What to Analyse:
Maths:
1) To solve the questions which you were not able to solve in the test.
2) To find out alternate/shorter route to solve ALL questions, including the ones you got correct in the test.
3) To chalk out a strategy as to which questions should have been picked and which should have been left.

DI:
Almost similar to Maths analysis. It is important to note the kind of ROI that you get on specific sets you solve. If it takes you a lot of time to solve a set with 4 questions correctly, it might not have been a prudent choice

English:
For RC and VR, as I have been focussing earlier too - Dissect the questions thoroughly, judging pros and cons of each option. This should also be done for the questions you got correct. Don't fret a lot on whether you got it right or not. The focus should be to develop the analytical ability further.

For grammar, i guess you cant do much now. Just understand what are your accuracies and time investment in various types of grammar questions, to implement them in a test if required.

3) How to cope up with differences in preparation.

Actually, there is not a lot of difference in the exams. The differences are minor, which can be taken care of in the 1-week gap every two exams have, by dealing with the specific change by practice, as well as taking an exam-specific mock.

4) Various hints on different sections QA, RC, VA, DI, LR, etc.

If someone can be specific, I can give some tips. In general, it is the usual gyan which you all must have had in your coaching instis.

4) And on any other point I missed.

1. Work should be filled till 31 Aug 2010.
2. Since u r filling the form online, u'll need to scan the thumb impression and sign. The scanned image will be black and white and hence it wont matter if u use black or blue ink!
3. U can pay using debit card. Your account password will be required in this case.

Multiple columns have been provided so that a person can mention the time he has spend in different types of organizations......
if one has spend time in only one organization then....he shud mention that in first column and leave other columns blank....dont use th other columns in that case....u can face prblm in case u r shortlisted and then they find out this was the catch....plz avoid such things....

eligibility to apply for FMS is 55% for science & 60% for mathematics & statistics. I've my aggregate as 58%. I've physics, chemistry & mathematics as electives in my graduation. Yes u are eligible for FMS....
unless you have maths and stats as ur main subjects no issues....
rest all fall under this category.....

any one can collect the form on your behalf...just make sure that person writes your name in the applicant's name field of the triple slips provided by the SBI branch.....he can himself/herself put his/her signature in the depositor's column...Also give your email id..that also needs to be entered on the slips..

Can someone please give the address and location of SBI Branch (in Hyderabad), if they have bought it...
Some puys posted earlier that it is not available in the Branch mentioned by the FMS (Begum bazar)...
As I am working, I only have saturday to visit to Bank, and I dont want to run from one branch to other in search of it.. (even saturday would be half day for the bank)...

Nopes.There is no need to apply online if you have bought the form from SBI.
