so while fillin the option form for 1st,2nd or 3rd round be careful.do not give lower cut off wala options.for eg. if u have 175,and u give the 3rd option as welingkar(1st=JB,2nd=sydenham obviously),it may so happn that u get into welingkar in d 1st round itself and then miss out on sydenham in the subsequent rounds.

similarly if u have say about 162 or so just fill d options upto welingkar and somaiyya.dont give your 5th option as PUMBA caz it may turn out that u get into PUMBA in d 1st round itself and then miss out on upgradation to welingkar in the subsequent rounds.so guys/gals keep you heads on your shoulders while you fill the option form.my advice will be to stick to the top 4,viz.JB,SYDEN,WELING,SOMAIYYA for the first 3 rounds(ofcourse if u hav scored decent).u can run for other lower colleges during the 4th(counselling)round.

home university rank is ur satnding in ur university mumbai in ur case..
state rank is ur ranking in state....

please select the college according to last years cut off...
or where u want to do an MBA....

Can understand ur plight, being scrupulous in fulfilling requirements within deadlines as required, sometimes has no significance. Apparently 'lot' of things happen in ranking after the option form filling and between the provisional and final OMS list is out, specially in case of JBIMS. U lost ur seat and in some other thread I read two candidates got their 'merit rank' after the provisional list in the final list (so the last two OMS in provisional list losing the seats!)! Hope no shocks this year (with RTI to rescue).

GOPENO stands for GENERAL OPEN OTHER UNIVERSITY seat alloted.....ds means if suppose ur open category & mumbai univ candidate & if ugt mumbai collg dn ul cm under GOPENH...odrws outsd mumbai if ugt pune, aurangabad etc dn ulb alloted GOPENO....hp dt clarifies ur doubt.........al d best....

You are certainly out of contention for the top colleges. Fill up your form starting with SIES or Chetna

yeah ..thats a possibility .. the risky thing . I think I answered your othere question in the other topic. Do a little research. It is your career, take a little effort. Im not trying to be harsh here as you are understandably anxious, but dont be repetitive with your questions.

Only you can decide which colleges to apply for and the order, we can only facilitate the process

Same strategy!

From the colleges you will surely get into, the highest ranked college should be 6th. The colleges you are aspiring for (higher ranked of course) should be in the top 5 :smile:

I standby my statement, you post notwithstanding. Do consider it seriously. and refer to my earlier post .... the unsolicited advice one ...

I dont think you will get a good college in Pune too. I dont think any Pune college in CET is good enough, except for PUMBA.

I reckon you are better off working for 1 year, even if it is sales.

1 year work ex before MBA + good college > bad college + 1 year work ex (if indeed you get placed) after MBA

then in the drop box, select (arrange the institutes in the order of) cut-off ranks 2006. im assuming tat with a score of 125 u've a state rank close to 3000. as u'll very well notice, ur chances of getting a decent college in the first rnd. seem to be very bleak. hence trying for the remaining rnds. seems to be ur best option.
