In the IITR brochure, fees per semester wsas specified as Rs. 35000. But a DD of 49000 is asked with acknoledgement before 1st may? Could you please explain? This does not even include hostel & mess fees. Moreover, in case if we get admission to some other college in june/july & want to cancel admission, what would be the refund amount!!

i wanted to know how good are cdma networks i.e reliance and tataindicom in roorkee. as i have heard that the networks are patchy at some areas in the campus itself. and also is there any group plans for IITR similar to those of corporate connection.

Hi,

There are quite a few ppl using CDMA connections back here although the GSM ratio is way high. CUG plans used to exist with Airtel and !DEA, but was discontinued from last year. Airtel usually sets up a stall on the day of registration for new connections and the rest of the services are available in the market outside IITR.

do anyone have MBA information brochure 2008 for IIT Roorkee alongwith all the formats such as 1. a certificate from college/university where u have appeared for qualifying degree examination(for those who have not recieved their degree)in specified format,etc.
and i would also be thankful if any body can give a copy of application form for IIT roorkee.

#1. in the offer letter its mentioned that those who havnt got their degree needs to submit one form as per some format in the MBA Brochure. i am a pass out of 2005 and have my mark sheets as well as provisional certificate given by the insti. university degree is still awaited and i have applied for that.
so will the provisional certificate do ?
or the annexure ( which i dont have nor can i find it in the insti website ) ?


#2. will hostel be available b4 the regn i.e on 2nd Aug ? as most of us will be arriving 1 or 2 days in advance.

Yea.. for the time being u can submit the marksheets and the provisional certis too.. but i wud suggest tht u get ur orignal Degree pretty soon, as that is required by the institute ... though they wud give u some time for it.. but tht is upto September end i guess..

U also need the annexure (if u didn send it already).. u wud find the form smwhere on pagalguy.. try searching our other thread on PG for this yrs admissions.. u wud get it there for sure..

The hostels wud be provided to u as soon as u enter the campus, and ask for a room.. u all wud need to go straight to DOSW office.. tht is the Dean of Students Welfare Office in the campus.. and report there with ur call letter... they wud then allot u ppl ur hostels.. and u wud subsequently get ur rooms wen u report in ur hostel.

!DEA, AIRTEL & Vodafone are the ones most common.

yaar i asked seniors in 1st yr shared room nd in 2nd yr single room.hope i've solved ur query.

very few of us had double seater rooms in 1st year.....around 10-11 out of 45 male hostelites....so going by last year's trend, 7/9 probability of u getting a single room and 2/9 of a double seater.

a word of caution though....single seater rooms are small to the point of causing claustrophobic attacks (i know very few will agree to this).. and besides, double seaters are more fun.....some people(me included) have chosen to stay in double seater ones even in the 2nd year

I have the following queries :
1.Do the work ex candidates need to submit the Migration/Transfer Certificate from the previous institute ?
2.There are 4 management clubs.Can you throw some light an their activities.
3. Has any body from IITR cleared in the previous batch CFA/FRM ? Is it possible to do the same along with the normal course work ? Is there any specific certification which caters to the Marketing side ?Finally how useful are these certifications in times of placements ?
4. Placement Report ( waiting from a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time now......... )

1. yes, everyone has to submit the migration/transfer certificate...u still have a month till college starts. try to arrange for the same by then. even if u can't, it's not a big problem. u'll have to submit the certi to get the degree. so u can manage without it till then.

2. the mgmt clubs are for publishng magazines on a fortnightly/ monthly basis in their domains. they also organise events/seminars on their own as well as help the dept in organising them. u'd have heard of the symposium that is being organised in aug-sep. all the four clubs have decided on the topics/speakers/comapnies for the same.

3. yes u could prepare for certification exams if its a priority to u. as a matter of fact, yours truly is mulling over appearing for cfa this dec. abt others, i dont know anyone who has appeared for these 2 specific certifications. though plenty who have appeared for others. am not aware of any certification in marketing.
