Theres some confusion regarding the GDPI slot..

As far as ur slot is concerned go according to the time mentioned on the updated list on the site.. make ur plans according to the interviews finishing on the same date.. although there is a very very little chance of the interview going into the next day

No there is no provision for the interview to be scheduled after the 18th... the interview schedule for IITR is only on 16th,17th and 18th

U can come to roorkee by reaching ISBT in Delhi.. from there u can easily get any bus...buses plying to hardwar or rishikesh or dehradun wud stop at roorkee.. so u can easily reach here.. u can get an AC bus as well as a normal bus.. both r easily available at ISBT New delhi...

Does the DEHRADUN SHATABDI always runs in time?
i know it would be like doubting the credibility if SHATABDI but its a critical matter fro me as my GDPI has been rescheduled on 17th Afternoon 2pm slot(talkd to admission authorities who confirmed the same on CALL) n i wd be reaching by SHATABDI.
also how far is IIT-R fro station

Shatabdi is more often than not on time..... but then again.. it is winter time. ne fog can delay the train.. but lets be positive.. and hope shatabdi reaches on time.. cos there is a lot of cushion in the scheduled time of Shatabdi and the interview time told to u..
Station from IITR is about 3-4 kms away... u can easily get a rickshaw which wud charge u nething between Rs. 15-20 and wud take arnd 15 mins or so to reach DoMS, IIT Roorkee

The batch intake of IITR is 60 seats and the seats in general category are as per the government norms.. i m not really sure bout the exact figure.. ill check up and get back to u

Shatabadi starts at 2315 and reaches roorkee at around 0230. I hope getting to institute from station wont be very difficult. I have an exam on 17th and am planning to take shatabadi on 17th night.

Dude.. first of all.. I like the way u have quoted all ur queries in a very systematic manner..

1. U shd report a day prior to the date of ur GD/PI.. although the time to report is 8:30AM as told to us so far.. ill keep u all posted for any updates on the same on PG

2.There r high chances tht the process wud complete within one day.. tht is wat happnd last yr.. so u can expect pretty much the same this yr too... n we wud provide u accommodation in the campus again watch out for any info on PG.

3.Last yr there was only one round of GD followed by the PI.. we have not been told wat wud be the procedure this time round... the topics last yr were both abstract and current trends.. i don think there were ne case studies last yr... again nothing has been decided for this yr as yet.
