yes operations is available as a specialization here. as for placements for operations. placements are still going on.some companies had come to campus for operations. also as you have dual specialization, you can opt for either core operation profile or any other profile in any manufacturing company..

IBA had already applied for AICTE during our joining, i.e 2009-2011 batch. But due to the problems in AICTE which all of us know, AICTE had put a stay on all the applications. So we didnot get approval. But this time, as AICTE has started functioning and entertaining applications, affiliation process is underway. So fingers crossed, things might just fall into place this time.
As for distance course, Students are enrolled to PTU university, which is UGC approved. So no question about authenticity.
Keep your queries coming. I will definitely try and answer them.

Puys with low score make sure you bajaofy the GD/PI to have good shot. IBA is a better college than thosse who malign it put it out to be. And 4-5 years down th line wot matters is you n not the college. Prep well for the GD/PI and be well read on current affairs.

You have a chance to make it to a good B-schools. All the best!! Make the most of it.

The best you can do is contact the college authorities for clarification as only they can give you the correct information as to what you have to do. the numbers are displayed in the college website. please go through the website.

to answer your queries,

firstly, the hostels are really good. the rooms are gud.

as for studies, the curriculum is very good. The matter taught is at par with any b-school.

for your extra curriculums....there are sports events held like cricket and football tournaments, volleyball and kabaddi, table tennis events..etc..gym facility is also there...

as for rules... well rules are there in every b-schools..and they are meant to be followed.

hey can anybody shed light on the placements and campus life and more importantly professors.....i did my engg from one of the good institute in mumbai........the facility and infrastructure was too good and the college has A++ accredited but still i felt the professors were not qualified and helpful ....yeah i knw we are no longer babies and we dont need a babysitter but a good teacher always helps.......i also want to knw abt the finance field as i m interested in making my career in finance....and one last question my cat percentile is 54.80 which is very low not expected but cant change it.......so any hopes for me.....:lookround:

we had a very packed schedule this week with our end terms so was not able to respond. The profs here are good. the external faculties that come here in second year are one of the best in business. It depends on you, how you are able to get the best out from them. MBA is a self learning course. the more doubts you ask, more clearer will be your concepts. The profs are always ready to help those who genuinely want to learn. they cannot spoon-feed.
As for a career in finance, there are some good names coming to campus for placements. companies like Deliotte, E & Y etc have been coming to campus and recruiting students. So, if you have the knowledge, no one can reject you.
For your cat score, i have already said that entrance test scores is just half the battle won. you have the entire gd/pi process. try performing good there, and keep your fingers crossed. ok....all the best...if any more queries..keep posting...

And what about the affiliation? It appears that the students will have to enroll themselves to the 'versities of their choice under distant mode. Further, isn't the non-recognition by AICTE the one to be looked into?

Folks iba is good college than many of b-schools in bangalore
because the way students can utilize the oppurtunities is quite more here
fee is not so high intake of students is also not so high (where other colleges are taking even 600 students i dont want to mention the name)

this is good oppurtunity for students

dont just go blindly by seeing some fake posts
analize the facts and figures
its ur career dont go along with fraud people
u will miss a decent college.

Lets paint a UNBIASED picture of IBA to prospective joinees. Report the fact. Be specific. No qualitative statement. e.g. IBA is fraud. Give some data. Where are the supportings?

Keep it Simple and Specific. Let others draw their own conclusions.

My take on IBA has been captured over the years in Life @ IBA thread. At this point lot of water has passed below the bridge and its not prudent to give a view on IBA. I have not been to college for quite some time now.

I am currently working in an IT company and address Education vertical in India. I have seen lot of Institutes/Universities closely and that too from their management's eyes. A simple conclusion: IBA is worth. I was double the salary that i got during placement by 18 months on the job.

I suggest guys from IBA to state loads of facts. Genuine facts. Guys outside do your homework. Then come.

Hostel mess food and facilities provided here are upto the mark, a fully lush green 12 acre campus, with all sort of entertainment , recreasional activities like Gym , Sports block , Baketball court, volleyball court ,TT room , Caraum room, Doctor Clinic, in house laundry, awesome hostels WI-Fi campus etc. is available along with the proper studies schedules. in real sense to make a proper mangement professional, what else a managemnt student need

i did my graduation from bangalore itself i know how pathetic mess food was in other mess, iba mess food was far-far better then other mess food.

i dnt understand how come somebody posted such comment where nothing like this is in campus actually, or may be he is in some special campus of IBA, Bangalore where only he is the student and nobody else. haa haa haa just kidding

but really guys this campus is rocking, faculties, guest lecturers all are awesome.

about food, i think you have never being to hostel prior to this, the food is far better then what served in other mess in Bangalore specifically , i am staying in different hostels from past 5 years and i know what type of food served in mess where in name of dal only yellow water is served..... Talking about Bangalore it's hard to found Chapati made of pure wheat flour even in hotels, we have all this in our mess a dal which is real dal not just yellow water and pure wheat flour chapati with no maida mixed in it and even varieties are being served daily in mess no repetition of sabji for one week also, what else you need.
you are saying library is bad , i believe you never went to library , a stock of more than 1000+ books, and various types of journals and study material is available we have an online library too where you can excess to vast study material through your laptops, come i'll teach you how to excess all this.
and if you sleep in class it's your problem have a good sleep in night deff. u fill fresh and be awake in classes, rules r not strict it's just to made you disciplined since after two years you have to enter corporates not kinder garden.

IBA is one of the leading college in India , a best place to do your MBA not just like any other "N no.s of B-school" who r running just for the name sake , investing here is perfect utilization of your parents hard earned money and to shape up your career . a well desciplined college where real managers are in making not an common MBA (who r MBA for name only but they even don't know what real management is) who even don't have job called as an MBA job....

about placemnts as of now 120+ students of batch 0810 are allready placed where in other B-schools placements is not yet started, 2 well known MNC's each recurited 20+ students from campus , just as a fact if teaching at IBA and brand IBA is not gud then never evr this big brands recruit huge number of students from a single bschool,
for your refrence visit our college website and have a look towards guest faculties and permanent faculties , there knowledge and there present positions in big MNC's, if they r coming to teach in IBA rather then going to any other bschool it itself proves the brand of IBA.

last i just want to end up saying refers to facts come visit college meet students who r in campus , meet faculties if you wish, plz don't rely on wrong and illogical statements stated about proving IBA's image wrong.

Who says IBA is a fraud college..haven't u done enough research before coming here and if not then i wud say it's ur fault and not someone else....if u r getting sleep in class then how can anyone help it...faculties are experienced..they r doing what they r supposed to do....talking abt placements then let me tell u.... the world is just out of recession and the demand has picked up bt the salaries are low not just in IBA but in any other college...to tell u the exact figures.... out of a batch of 250 for the year 08-10...around 105 guys have already been placed with an average package of 2.5 lakhs and rest of the guys will be placed till the month of april for sure....in the end i can only say 1 thing that any college or institute is made out of students so if college is not up to the mark in 1 aspect or another then it's b'coz of students...so if u don't like anything then don't sit idle & try to bring a change rather than cribbing abt it.....

guys see pagal guy bschool ranking 2009. you will understand about IBA. and the people saying bad about IBA. See one thing everyone is not made for IIM or XLRI. So please don't discourage others. Try to give as much of information you know about any college. And let the people judge either the college is good or not.

If you really care for your parent's hard earned money then please don't get admission in stupid colleges like Indian Business Academy. IBA is nothing but money making.........or should I say in money looting Business.

Don't go for its high sounding name ..........It only has good title. That's it!!!
But it has very low quality & value which can hardly match with your local college....!!!!!!!

So pls spread this message to everyone & save the lives of students who may be thinking of joining IBA........

IBA is not affiliated to any university or under AICTE....and we IBAians are happy about it..coz it gives us the freedom...freedom to update our syllabus as and when required...and about IBA....faculty rock here....students attitude rock.their attitude towards professionalism rock!!!Placements are good ...but how much good will totally depend on a particular students caliber.....
