plz tell me the exact scenario of placements in oil and gas.as in how many students frm this ear batch have got the ppackage of above 6,00,000 and are the students from technical background get a preference in placement process.

P.S. i am from BSc chemistry and i am heavily confused. Any help from would be a big deal for me.

Anybody from computer science or Information science background, can opt. ISM, It Has equally Challenging Opportunities as other Branches are having. And if somebody is doing MBA to learn how to take pressure on them then its worthless... Because MBA is much more then that. Being a student of MBA ISM i can say its worth to join ISM if U are really interested to know how things are being managed not only in IT but in every aspect of life. Also we have Good placements and internships in Reputed organizations, we have world class workshops, and experienced faculty... so do not hesitate in joining MBA ISM. because WHAT EVER U DO SHOULD COME FROM UR HEART not anyone's advice.

@plaban1990 I'll be paying a visit to the campus by 15th April. Until then, i'm going through the same dilemma as all other, i.e; Confused!
Although i've heard a lot in the good side. Recent placements of 2011-2013 batch makes it sound sliding down the cliff.
So, couple of more days to think over again. Hope we'll gain the fortitude to take the right decision.

@nehacat Total 37 students have been placed from the Oil and Gas program i.e. Almost 60.66% of the strength of the batch. Initially the students are recruited as management trainees in a company,but this depends on their respective profiles.

@plaban1990 Power Management is good course at UPES and is really good, you should go for it. The program develops your skills and abilities to apply management theories and concepts to live problems of the Power industry across the spectrum of generation, transmission and distribution.The maximum package offered to the students here is 6 lac per annum and the recruitment is still on.Therefore there shouldn't be any problem.
