The admission office says if your name featured in the first list then you are not eligible for any more lists.. Why did they ask us to fill preferences then and why were we not informed about this? this is very unfair to the students

The admit offer letter mentions that semester will begin from June 27. Currently I am working and I need to serve atleast one month notice period. This arises to two condition.
1. If I serve 1 month notice period I can join college 2 weeks from the date mentioned. Is it acceptable if there is any delay in joining?
2. If I do not serve the notice period I will not get the service certificate. In absence of service certificate is there any other document that can act as proof for work experience.

Please guide us for above mentioned situation.

offer letter, first salary slip, last salary slip, employee id card zerox and form 16 (if available) act as a perfect work experience proof. its okay if you dont have a service certificate.

it is not allowed to miss the foundation fortnight at any cost.
you will have to attend it.
in worst cases, you will have to take the directors permission.

no differentiation is made between the students once they are part of the welingkar campus

kindly include option in the poll as "not taking addmission in mumbai and bangalore campus" or course wise "not taking admission" .

it will give clear idea to the people who are not included in the first list.

Congrats to all those who got selected for the various courses in WE:cheers:. It would have been great had Welingkar's would have given the students a scorecard after all the various tests so that we could gauge our own performance and get a clearer idea as to what our chances would be.

Hoping that 18th June will bring some good news from Welingkar's.

3.3 lacs for one year. So, that makes 6.6 lacs for both the yrs for both mumbai and b'lore campus.

hostel fees have not been changed.

means total MBA at WE will cost around
6.6 + 2(approx or 2 year hostel)+1 (for food)+1 (for books and other xpnce for 2 years)=10.60 (approx for 2 years )

It means that you are not selected in 1st merit list only and u may have chances in subsequent merit lists...... check on 18 th u may have chance ...gud luck

don't get disheartened ....last year some of the students not featuring in any of the list got mail/call in july (happened for E biz Bangalore....not sure about mumbai ) ....so if u r lucky and have scored gud in written/gd Pi...then u might have an outside chance in subsequent list if u r in waiting or after 3 lists.....
it happened for 1 or 2 students whom i know.....it is not sure for this year but there is a outside for students for students with gud profile nd marks.....gud luck

Does a regret mean, a candidate is not eligible for further lists?

If you don't serve your notice period, you will have to pay a month's salary to your organization to get the service certificate.That is usually the case with most companies.I suggest you to check with the HR of your company.

Hey I got selected for PGDM-Mumbai.I have a query.If I pay the mandatory fees for securing admission i.e 1.7 lac(am I correct???) before 13th and then later (when the CET results are declared on 16th June) I cancel my admission, are you sure I will be refunded Rs 1.69 lac(as per refund policy only Rs 1000 will be deducted) on the day of the cancellation itself.Pls help

Welingkar treats all students and all courses equal.
So seperate, course wise, specialisation wise, or any other breakups are not given.
Don't ask why, we are students and we don't know answers to a WHY.
We can share our experiences and give you true view about the college.

PGDM MUMBAI HAS 180 seats.
And everyone wants to do that.
All those who haven't got selected, all those who have got other courses.

Same happens when students apply.

So consider the competition.
And do you think people who have got, will leave a PGDM MUMBAI SEAT???

If I was you, I would have understood.

Use your common sense please, be practical.

Other courses are not bad at all.
Most of the core faculty is common.
Placements is common.
Specialisations are similar.
The pedagogy, the outbounds, the events, exposures, competitions same. So be practical.
Don't miss out on a good college, just because you did not get the course you wanted.
I agree each one of us has a preference, but other courses are equally good.
Banglore and Mumbai are no two seperate entities.
International Placements are shared and both have independent placement teams. And both campuses have excellent placement record.

Placement Report 2012

Prin L.N Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai has concluded its placement for the batch of 2010-12 with about 180 renowned companies including Infosys Technologies, HUL, Wipro Technologies, Deloitte Consulting, HCL Technologies, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, Capgemini, IBM, recruiting the entire batch from the campus.

According to the placement office of the institute, while the highest package offered at the campus was Rs. 20 lakh per annum, the annual average package to the batch stood at Rs. 7.75 lakh this year.

According to the placement office, half of the batch opted for IT/ITES and BFSI sector. While as much as 28 per cent of the batch opted for IT/ITES, the BFSI companies stood next with 23 per cent of the batch choosing to start career in the sector. Other sectors like Heavy industry, Media and Entertainment, Research and Consultancy also recruited in good numbers from the institute.

The participating companies offered a total of 627 job offers to the batch of 418 graduating students. According to the institute, as many as 15 students opted out of the campus placement.
A total of 180 companies participated in the placement process this year of which 65 were new. The list of top companies included Infosys Technologies, HUL, Wipro Technologies, Deloitte Consulting, HCL Technologies, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, Capgemini, IBM.

2) hows the housekeeping at hostel? attached wc and bathrooms or shared?

housekeeping is available, but u will have to pay extra
common bathrooms and wc, per floor.

and there are around 4 wc and 4 bathrooms per floor.
common stove, fridge, water cooler and washing machine


3) how do students generally commute to and fro to collg from hostel? is it a walkable distance?
walkable but will take around 25 mins.
in cab 5 mins, its around 2 km
students make a group of 4 and share a cab generally


4) Does the hostel have a mess? what are the mess charges?
no mess.
tiffin services available and lot of restaurants also.
u can order food right from 7 am in morning till 3-4 am

5) is there any collg uniform?
no uniform

6) how much will the study material cost?
u have to manage, u can share most of the things.
if u attend lecs and use library.
we zeroxed a few hand notes from girls who maintain them, around 200-300 per exam.


7) in the offer letter it is mentioned that on the first day formals are compulsory. does it mean that we have to wear a blazer or shirt and trouser will do?
blazer+shirt+trouser.
u will be given a letter wen u take admission.

So any combination which is not of selected candidates will show regret msg it is called GIGO way of programming that is Garbage In Garbage Out

to remain eligible for conversion, u will have to pay the fees. but it may get converted or may not.
pay only if u are sure u dont mind banglore.
it is also good.
then it is upto u.
pgdm mumbai requires very high score and many fill only one option, that is pgdm mumbai nothing else. so if they havent got selected and still if a seat is empty and they are waitlisted, they will get selected over someone who has scored less from 400

to remain valid for upgradation you need to pay the fees

what happened last year is that people who converted B and WL for A that person got the information in there letter only ...
so basically if ur letter is sayng u have converted PGDM Banglore
and also sayng ur WL for PGDM mUMBAI then only u will be considered for PGDM MUMBAI in 2nd list ....
