Also, I do not know how much each category has moved exactly, this can be estimated only by Puys posting their WL ranks if they have cleared. Those waiting still have to wait till around 1st week of april..

Also, no. of seats is not changing . It remains 150+ category students (which goes around 20-25) making a total of 170-175 students in the entire batch.

Movements is a thing which we cannot control, or know for that matter. I just mentioned the nos. for the benefit for those in the waiting, so that they can prepare beforehand for the docs, fees etc.

Last exam tomorrow, and will be off to home on 22nd.. So, kindly bear with us if we take some time to reply....

Now looking at the WL movement .... approx 150 from general alone have been called... leave alone the no of ppl who converted before ...

Could this be a case of majority of guys not confirming their seats who got converted on 14th MArch itself which caused such a massive movement on WL? :)

1. Today about 180 students were moved to final merit list, that means about 150 from General category from the WL - 1. Now, if sum1 is after this, he/she will have to wait till April 5th or so for further clarity.
Similarly, about 30 ppl from SC/ST/KM/PH have been moved.. Now I don't know the individual movements in the categories, but ppl here can post their WL no for a fair idea.

2. As I told earlier, mail shall be sent to the candidates tomorrow, all the details will be mentioned there..

3. No, there is no hidden costs- The fees you are going to pay (which will be mentioned on the offer letter), includes the Hostel, mess, Tuition fees and the online pre-induction program fees. Your college uniform, your medical insurance, your books is all included.

4. If someone does not pay the fees within the stipulated time given to them, the seat will be given to the next in the line in that category. It is that simple. In case anyone has any fees related query, I request not to mail, but call them and get a say from the Admissions deptt itself.

5. I know the WL movement seems a bit too high, but trust me, those ppl in the Admissions are experienced and know a lot about the WL movement and trends etc.. In fact I thought you guys would take it as a good thing considering your wait has been reduced by a good 10 days!

Anyways, for now, wait for the mail from the college. WL1 guys from around rank ~150 onwards, WL2 , WL3 guys- please wait.. till the next movement happens.. Trust me, if it happens before April 5th, Puys will be the first ones to know..

Did i see ppl saying that those who had WL as high as 140 in general category being given a call ? Its really so difficult to imagine ..how can such a huge movement happen?

If suppose someone clears the waiting list and is not able to pay the amount in the stipulated period for some reason. Then if suppose he gives the fees on a later date when wait list movement is still expected, then will my candidature be considered.

But I have not recieved a mail.. Others who have converted plz confirm the position.......

hey...i had called up SIBM-B 2 days back and they told me that the new list would be out by Wednesday. They told me that if the person in the merit list does not accept the offer by the stipulated date via email, his/her offer will be withdrawn and the w/l will be moved accordingly. Such ppl will not be sent the hard copies of the offer letter.
Got the call today..WL 1/Rank 63/Open!!!!

Not everyone who is given a call pays and confirms the seat.. From past years' trends, Admission deptt must have come out with a no.. That's all I know ...

I moved from WL1,rank 144 (GEN category ) to selected. Does that mean 143 selected GEN category candidates did not wish to join?

Today i have got a convert as i was in WL1 last time when the final merit results were announced...

Just want to know wat is the last date to confirm admission for the same & also about the payment as it will take some time to arrange 3.45 lakhs at one go & also by keeping in mind even banks take a week or two's time for processing the loan amount...

The Admissions department must have done its own calculations and come up with new list...

Important thing is it has moved, and you are cleared...

I was initially placed at WL144 in the 1st waiting list. I get the information now that I have been selected . I do not understand how waiting list moved by 143 places with last date of payment still 10 days away.

Just got this intel from Shobha Maa'm from the Admissions deptt that the WL 1 has moved...

The website will be updated with a ticker tomorrow and confirmation mails will be sent too to these candidates.

Please note that the last date of payment of fees for the WL1 guys would be April 5... Check your mail when you get it for other details..

The wait continues for the rest of the guys in WL1 and WL2, WL3 fellas..

P.S. Around 150 from general and 30 from various categories have been offered a seat...

I have some queries. If u can confirm them from the admissions department.

Alongwith Fees DD we are being asked to submit attested copies of Migration Certificate and Transfer Certificate. But i am doubtful if i can arrange the Migration certificate before 31st march because i am yet to apply and University may take time to provide the same. Can i send the migration certificate at a later date?

Secondly the offer letter states "Attested Copy of Transfer certificate in case of SIU candidates." does that mean that non SIU candidates do not have to submit the transfer certificate?

Hi Ashish,

For migration certificate, just apply to your university, and get a photocopy of your migration application along with the other docs as mentioned. Write an email to admissions@sibm.edu.in stating that you have applied for the migration certificate (proof of which shall be enclosed along with other docs), and would submit it as soon as you get it from your university. The Admissions department would surely consider your request..

Non-SIU candidates do not have to submit the transfer certificate (their migration certificate is the alternative document).

1.)Since i am currently working and serving a notice period i wont be able to submit Work Experiance Certificate now, but i will submit it at the time of commencement of the course(6th June 2012). For the time being i can support it by submitting Joining Letter and latest Salary slips.Will that work ?
2). What is this migration certificate in case of working employee. is it the same as Releving Letter from the employer?

Yeah you can do that, just make sure you have the attested copies of the docs you are sending. Drop an email about the work ex certificate too to be on the safe side to admissions@sibm.edu.in.

Yes, you have to pay the first installment amount to confirm your seat or else it would be given to the next WL candidate. In case you are facing issues in loan processing, drop an email and call the admissions office (do both). Since this is about confirmation of YOUR seat, be extra careful... They can consider fees related issues on a case to case basis, so be specific in your queries when you talk to them...

The waitlist moment will only start after the first date of paying the installment i.e 31st March is over. No point speculating the time or if you would clear or not..!!

What is Migration Certificate

Migration certificate is issued by the University from which you have completed your graduation. This certificate helps you to migrate from your old university to Symbiosis International University. This is a mandatory document required for enrolling into the SIU.

You should ask your respective university to issue you a migration certificate, since it sometime takes a couple of months (In case of lazy officials) it is strongly suggested you start the process fast.

In case of fresh graduates you would get the migration once your final results are out. Hence the moment your results are out apply for migration.

If you do not submit the migration you are not allowed for the Sem-1 exams itself which would be held in Oct-2012.

I talked to the Admissions Department, but being a Sunday, the Website vendor can take a look at it only by tomorrow.

Truly appreciate 2 facts here:

1. As promised you guys came up with interim placement reports for aspirants to take informed decisions. :clap:

2. You guys could have easily manipulated the average package and escaped at a later stage saying that it was an interim report, but you dint and published the correct figures. That's bold and truly appreciable and will definitely reinforce the faith of candidates on SIBM B. :clap:

All the best for those still unplaced, may you get the best profiles.

Our placements season is about to close..!! Just few more smiling faces going into bigger brands and we done..!!

The Final Placement report will be out by April 15th, 2012 with a few more brands recruiting from us...!!

We could have waited for this next week to end and publish the report but we are upfront and honest about what we are..!! Next week we have a few more process to happen which are confirmed and thats it..!!

We do not take shelter under the umbrella of "Recession" and "bad job market".... yes this was a reality.. it was a challenge but we have managed to pull it off finally with minimal impact and an increased no of people getting avg and above avg placements..!!

Its all about giving more people better packages than few people getting the top..!! Its about all the students..!!
