IRMA was a wonderful wonderful experience..never wnted to come back from there :(...will always cherish the time spent at IRMA irrespective of whether I finally convert or not..and yes the seniors were exceptionally nice and helpful :).here are some bits from my gd and gt experiences-

GD-our topic was- 'corruption and nepotism are inherent in today's socio-economic system and all efforts to control corruption are futile'..in our gd there were 5 girls and 5 boys..d duration of the gd was 20 mins and we were given 10 mins to think(writing pad and a pencil provided)..it was very well coordinated..when almost everybody had spoken once except one girl,one of the panelists asked us to let her speak and thus it was made sure that everyone got a chance..and in d end v were asked to summarize.

GT- Topic-pollution controlling measures..10 mins to think it over and prioritize the points..someone tried to strt bt the panelist askd us to one by one give our first preference..in the order in which v were sitting...then v were askd to argue and convince each other abt our frst preference...and same was for d 2nd prefernce..beyond that v cudnt discuss as our 20 mins got ovr...and our grp managed to reach a consensus only on first and second preferences

I have got my refund and as i applied for the refund before 28th May so i have got back the whole amount minus 1k...

And as Amit Bhai said...be assured Irma will refund ...i was assured and they did...

With this my tryst with IRMA ends and thanks for all the guidance and help amit bhai,rupkr,sud singh,vineet bhai and evryone else...i had a gr8 awakening wen i visited the splendid campus of Irma and i will miss it ...

I met with Janak si on 14th may and by hat time 3 ppl have already been refunded.
SO wait your drafts will reach you as soon as they are processed.

i called at irma . they told that this year they are not going to clear any waitlist

i have send janak sir a mail on 15th May about my cancellation but i cudnt get any confirmation about the same....so i called him to re-confirm about my status and he said that he hasnt been able to see his e-mails.
Then he said to me to send him a hard copy of my withdrawal application.
Through the speed post tracking it shows that my letter has been delivered last Friday...so seniors plz tell me what to do....sud i call janak sir again or sud i call Pramod sir or sud i wait for 2-3 days for their response...

i am getting scared...that will i get my amount back or not...and if yes then by which time??

In all probability all these phone calls were to make sure who is joining and who is not and not,so I guess the info on the no waitlisted candidates making it should be out real soon.

Got a call from Mr.Janak today.He was asking me about the reason as to why am I not at IRMA today for the remedials.I reminded him about the email correspondence that we had in which I got the reply that I do not need to attend the remedials as I am a B.Tech graduate,and therefore had maths.

I told him that inspite of that I wanted to come on the 30th but couldn't as my ticket stayed waitlisted even though I had booked it more than a month back.He seemed satisfied with the answer but then asked me If I am joining for sure or not.I said absolutely.I probably should have mentioned that I've resigned from my job due to the call,maybe that would have convinced him for sure.

I also think that I wasn't the only one called as he mentioned some other name at first before addressing me as shantanu as if he was reading the names off a list or something.I think that everything should be OK,but would greatly appreciate it if seniors or my fellow classmates could inquire and confirm the same.

hey puys!!!!had a chat with pramod nw...he tells me that not many people out of the 125 guys have withdrawn their first term fees. which means that there's not much hope for WL guys....i guess wl people should explore greener pastures elsewhere...and also that the final status would be known only after 2-3 days...so wl 1-10 wait a lil longer.....

It seems that the vaccine Typhoral is no longer available in the market since people from various cities are not able to get it . There are other vaccines of the same composition which are available. I think you can go for one of those.

Better if you manage in your hometown but if not possible then get it done in Anand....IRMA officials will not create problem...

Just curious, but I hope we don't have any fair usage policy as far as internet goes.
Just found a torrent for seinfeld but it is 31 gigs in size.Safe to say that with my 256 kbps speed,it is nigh impossible to download it here.hopefully I'd be able to download it in the campus

Hi All, Most of u will now be doing final preprations for IRMA coming. There were a few queries from u ppl regrading hostel accomodation etc. a few info regarding the same are..
U wud be provided with a single room with mattress, pillow,two almira, on shelf, one table ,a chair, a stablizer(almost everybody ), interne...t connection.
Buckets, bedsheet have to be brought by u only. U can get these stuffs from co-operative or nearby market. sim cards etc can be purchased frm the co-operative itself.
There are common bath room n toilets on each floor. Single water cooler in each block.

Regarding Office , you can use pirated version. Open office is also fine i guess but none of us uses it as far as I know.

Well,most of the guys are going to have laptops with preloaded OS and therefore it cannot be shared.In fact to my knowledge most manufacturers don't even give the Installation disc,at least Sony and dell don't.

If you buy the retail (family version) however,then I guess it can be installed in a limited amount of computers but I don't know its selling price in India and also if it is sold here in the first place.

If you are sure that you don't need a new laptop,then your best bet would be to shell out around 5700/- to 6000/- bucks on Windows 7 basic.Vista is lame and spending on XP now that its support has ended would be IMHO a waste of money.


And seniors,nothing is mentioned about MS office,does that mean we can use Open office/Google Documents particularly keeping in mind that internet isn't going to be an issue.

Got a mail from Mr Janak... with 4 attachments...schedule,Cr letter,computer letter,etc...

In that it is written to report on or before 7th June 9 am.

But i had read on this forum itself that we have hostel allocation on 4th of June... Can anyone throw some light... ?

Hostel is allotted to us...and we have to just collect the keys from the main gate as mentioned in the mail.....

We just have to reach before 9 am on 7th June.......

And as far as Operating system for laptop or desktop ..... i mailed Janak sir and he replied that original Windows 7 will be fine ( even though it was not mentioned in the mail sent by IRMA )....

a query fr seniors..the placement average figure fr this yr is 6 lakh plus.... i just saw this mandatory disclosure... it says that min is sm 1.8 and last yr was sm 1.66.. it is very less than the average...so if a few opt fr 2 lakh then the average becomes 6 if a lot org offer nearly 5 to 9....

what is the procedure for a refund at this stage, actually i have decided to join a different college because of my personal preferences, so sending an email woul be enough or i need to send a letter to mr. janak.
btw apart from that i am totally crazy about irma starting from the security guards at the gate to the entire staff and students, a real learning experience on how humble and polite people can be.
thanks i got a chance to visit the campus, and stay there for a day .
