the hostel and college are quite close.if you want to bring your 2 or 4 wheeler you will have to convert your licenship and ownership place in orissa rto.it might take max 6000 rupees for the ownership and all.

Till date no one has asked for a family accommodation. If the need arises, it will be considered on a case to case basis.

Yes

You can bring your 2/4 wheeler to the campus. But do not forget to bring the papers for the same and your driving licence.

You don't need to use u r bike to go to u r classroom dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Stop worrying about the loan and other admission process details...you would soon be receiving your admissions letter giving detailed instructions...you would also find enclosed a letter from the SBI-Bank Manager with regard to your loan application process...and also a letter from the G.Sec of the students executive committee giving you a detailed description of what we have in store for you...

- So, chill out for a couple of days..its time to celebrate, afterall...and spare us some time to study as we have our end-term exams going on we would keep answering your queries on and off...

My interview was at XIMB..i dont know if u can get it but u surely do not need it for getting to classes..! The hostel and the classes are all in the same campus and i dont think anyone will use a vehicle for going from hostel to class..hardly 500 mtrs or lesser..!

If it was a genuine query, mini Coolers might be allowed... AC installations would definitely NOT be...

Last year it was INR36000 for entire programme. so going by last years trend it should be INR1800 per month.

Is the room rent so low. INR500 per month for single room:shock:

what is the use?the amount is refundable .....even if people are not interested they will pay the amount just for safety until results of all other colleges are out.....only those who are genuinly not interested and totally decided that they won't join are not going to pay....the rest will pay ....so the waitlist movement will still be slow n we hav to wait till june probably when the entire fees has to be paid...and then people mite drop.......so let us be prepared to wait .....all the best to all the waitlisted ...may we all get in

Entirely refundable if you are waitlisted and your call doesnt convert. If its a confimed call, around 1000 rs will be deducted.

A new building which has studio apartments is under construction and will be able to provide A/C accommodation and attached bath facilities to people who are interested ( at a premium price of course ). Not sure if the offer would be open to first years. Will let you know when its ready.

AFAIK the migration certificate is issued in the name of the university to which you intend to move to. I'm in the wait list and hence will have to pay the fees at another university as well (till i'm sure of a conversion). Also, the same certificate is required for that institute as well.

My query is, if i convert very close to the admission date I will have to get a cancellation for the certificate and get a new one issued for XIMB. I'm not sure how efficient Mumbai University is in issuing the same.

Any inputs on the above? Anyone faced a similar situation or have any idea on the amount of time it would take for issuance/cancellation?

You'll be given time till 31st October to submit all your documents.( This was the policy last year and we expect it to remain unchanged for this year as well unless AICTE comes up with some new rule

I hv joined the old grp too. It seems to be dead !
There isn't much activity in that group. It seems like seniors are busy with exams and other people are too lazy to post or too busy in resigning these days.

One more thing, some seniors have also joined the new group of mine. I think XIMB is not having dedicated PR team to cater to this. (or you can say seniors are really busy)


Anyway, there are only 10 memebers in my group as of now. Once it grows, I ll let the people know about the official group(whichever we choose to make) and handover the ownership to someone from XIMB PR team.

Well guys i will be very straight forward in my approach in dealing with the discussions happening in the thread. Let me put a nail on the head. I see a lack of pragmatic and healthy discussion in the thread due to a few puys.

1. Being prospective students of an elite institute a certain level of professionalism and integrity is expected from you guys. Discussion on oriya and non-oriya seem to clearly define the level of immaturity you people have in you. Kindly adhere to certain norms coz it is a public thread which is up for viewership.

2. "Somebody was in hospital"-Sorry buddy!! feel for you but get this damn discussion out of the purview of the thread. It shows a lack of commitement towards a cause. Remember the thread is named "XIMB Final Admits"-Atleast act like ones.

3.People forming group does not mean taking initiatives. It means u guys do not have the interest to go through what others have written in previous threads. An orkut and facebook community was opened long time back. If this is your level of interest on what others are doing you gonna face a torrid time.

4.Use minimum words to get your information through in a public forum. Being a senior and a part of XIMB fraternity i expect a certain level of justified comments from your side. We; the seniors are awaiting you guys to post your queries at the communities opened and you guys are forming one group after another. We are having our end terms now and all of us would be leaving for our summer internships in a few days. If u want queries to be answered post it in the right forum.

5. XIMB has a dedicated PR team and people associated work closely with different sources. We love that u want us to give the ownership of a google group but kindly delete it at this point of time and start directing queries in the official communities created.

Lastly guys you people are from a decent background with work experience and would be joining an elite institute. Dont degrade yourselves so much now you require a hell lot of effort to gain back a respectable position.And if u feel something is offending if u were on the other side of the table; better use a different forum to project your views.

1. How many students usually go/are selected for that?
2. What is the coursework like for that term (second yr I believe)?
3. How do they manage expenses?

All the information regarding exchange programme cannot be made available on a public forum. But to give you an idea of it, there is no upper limit on the number of students. Any number of students who are interested can go. The students who are going will spend one term at a foreign university and will get credits for the courses completed over there. Other details will be made available to you once you join the institute.
