I am not sure whether this so called Dalmiaite is our old friend Keith...Hope not.
Dear aspirants,
Following are the facts you would like to consider before joining dalmia:
1. No practical exposure
We have professors with immense industry experience who shower their wisdom not only when approached in a right manner but also whenever demanded as a right. It does not get any better in other B Schools that fall under Mah MBA CET, our faculty is our strength.
Case studies created by our professors are not only challenging but have been helpful in understanding the miniscule details of what happens in the real corporate situation.
2. Over disciplined: No cell phones allowed in the institute, if they see you talking they will confiscate your cell phone and return it only on the next day, no t-shirts allowed, attendance is compulosry.
Agreed, in the beginning you might dislike the discipline of no-cell-phones (IN THE LIBRARY, CORRIDORS AND IN THE LECTURES) or no T-shirts. But you really do not care about wearing a T Shirt when they are trying to prepare you for those interviews where your wearing a T shirt attitude can put you in a discomfort zone.
Cell phones are important, but students should not get distracted while a lecture is on, that is the sole purpose.
If you dont want to attend then why dont you join a PART TIME COURSE? Even a Distance Learning course.:cheerio:
3. You will end up giving exams after exams: Only exams are considered as a measuring paramenter of a students capability, if you do not score good then you are useless. Results are declared in the auditorium in front of entire college(just imagine how insulting it would be for the student who has failed, wouldnt his morale go down??)
If you did not read books, let me remind you that there is a subject called OB - Organizational Behaviors, which tells you something about motivating factors. Fear of failure is one such motivator, which Dalmia knows how to use.
Results are declared in the auditorium, this is a good thing. Those who put in efforts and study should be awarded. That again is a motivator! It encourages students to perform! My dear friend Dalmiaite, you were perhaps busy playing games on your cell-phone when our professors taught us all this.
Those who due to difficulty level of a particular subject fail to clear a subject are NEVER PUT IN DISTRESS WHEN FINAL PLACEMENTS HAPPEN.
The mark sheets will NEVER SHOW even if you have KTs. However, the heavy penalty, again a negative motivator, makes sure that you dont engage in your cellular activities.
4. Summer placements: A very few reputed companies come for summers, no good profiles, except for a few.
Aspirants are requested to communicate and verify with Dalmia's placement officer / student representative, before believing such BULLSHIT. The previous years' brochures will be available for your reference.
5. Final Placements: They say average is 5.5 (They have put up the list of students with the package they have got, But i doubt whether they are correct figures)
When people like you despite of such disciplinary measures behave in this outrageous manner, industry does take a note of this. Dalmia's growth has been the best in the last decade. It is relatively a new institute and brand building is not done overnight.
Again I would request all of you to verify the facts with our placement officer / student representative.
6. Students in the good books of director are given priority for placements or for every other thing.
Don't be in the bad books as simple as it is!
7. Seniors will say if you want to gain knowledge then join Dalmia, but its BULLSHIT (A couple of months after exams students wont remember anything. They argue to this by saying that "sab jagah aisa hi hota hai", and that is what i am saying sab jagah same hi hota hai, it depends on you how much knowledge you can grasp
Senios say,"If you want to gain knowledge and SURVIVE IN THE LONG TERM, then join N L Dalmia."
8. Finance is over hyped
With professors like Prof P L Arya and Prof Navin Bhatia, I doubt if you can say that. Are you :drinking

?
9. The vision of college itself is narrow, they want to become one of the best colleges in mumbai, not even in india.
Who told you that!? Osama Bin Laden? I'm sorry he is dead.
Right now, Dalmia is up against B Schools in Mumbai (Under CET and other such as S P Jain, NMIMS, IIT-B) and it surprises me when you dont consider these giants worth competing.
Anyways, people who have appeared for MBA CET (OMS) have been joining NLDIMSR with fidelity and trust.
10. My opinion is wait one more year and try next year, and if you are a fresher then it is a decent college for you.
I am sure all MBA aspirants have learnt during their preparation, what is to be done with - "Inferences, Judgements and Facts!"
Apart from these there are a many other small small things.
P.S: I am a student studying in N.L.Dalmia and i am regretting taking admission here (Majority of students feel the same)
P.S. He / she is Keith, I mean Fake!
