also location is near IT industries. 4-5km.

College has better faculty and placements(summer n final) for marketing
so buddy can u just explain me ur reason for statement. pls puys stop calling this college for finance only. If college was to promote finance then definitely we wud hv had a PG Diploma in Finance etc lik some other colleges. some of my frds r thinking to shift to marketing seeing gud placements thr. our last yr's top scorer in CET also has opted for marketing though he had come in dalmia keeping finance in mind, leaving welingkar and other colleges.

Thanks a lot I have a Domicile certificate and I am born in Mumbai and I have completed my 10 th 12th and graduation from Mumbai .
I do not have my "Passing of Convocation certificate" as they will give me the same in next convocation but I have a passing certificate which was issued along with final sem marksheet will that be sufficient or I have to get any letter can you please help me regarding this so that I can arrange for the same.

I think u come under minority...u should have a domicile certificate also you should be born and completed your 10th and 12th and grad from maharashtra....thats it ...and with your score ...you have a good chance for MMS minority....:)

Your score is on the lower side....I would suggest at your work exp. to try for just the top 10-15 institutes....continuing to work and trying again next year would be a better option.....!!!

Score is on the lower side....so an exceptional performance in GD/PI/Essay is required and you really need to convince the panel as to why they should select you over the others....!!!

hey.. the fees for MMS course in NLDIMSR is 1.50 Lacs pa approx.. and that of PG is 1.60 Lacs pa approx.. last year it was 1.47 Lacs pa for MMS..

fee last yr was 1.42 L for mms nd 1.37 for pgdbm. Thr is only minor change in revised fee structure every yr.

Also i have applied for pgdm in dalmia and they have 30% weightage for cet marks. so at my 130 written score how much will i get in that weightage?

156/240 wud halp u get a minoriity seat if ur Home University student (Mumbai University).. Hope you filled that separate form and all... I do not know much on its details.... And yes, only 30% weightage to score for PGDBM... to convert is in ur hands....

1st thing... good score... but lots of us at the similar score (including me)
Apart, the procedure for MMS and PGDBM is very different. The scores matters a lot if you go to MMS, but PGDBM here @Dalmia gives only 30% weightage so you can see there is a scope, a wide scope for you to convert the opportunity....

The GD and PI would majorly decide your fate and ofcourse the 5min essay-again a part of communication skills I guess... a way you could narrate yourself or your idea.... Yes, your past acdemics and extra curricular are taken into consideration, but GD-PI dominates the list.

11th is a long way to come so you can make sure you get well prepared for the best to give... apart you would also get some idea as to how the process is from the people who would be giving GDs prior to u... (I think i wud b d 1st day-1st batch sort of) But don't just get tensed and prepare well with certain stuffs that you feel are important to you....

Actually speaking the preparation would be individual specific depending on your freshness or with work-ex and the branch you studied/employeed, and than the things that has to do with you acads and related... so you see no1 can specifically guide except to tell u to prepare for ur GD and PI well, as well as you can rather....

or is it just any essay topic chosen randomly ?

Simple random topics like "I love afternoons because...." was one topic last year....so its just to check your basic written communication...you really don't need to prepare for the essay section....!!!

GD/PI process is from June 1st week....there is nothing to be filled up....you are given a schedule on the spot for ur GD, PI, Essay and Doc. Verification....all within a period of 4 hrs for every GD/PI slot and it gets wrapped up pretty fast...

Your affidavit that ul be making acts like a document which confirms that u fall into hindu minority.People out there,giving us admission are smart enough to figure out if someone's trying to fool them.They are doin this job since years...for the affidavit,the college will give a format that needs to be typed and given back to them.

I m surprised that being converted to ICFAI Hyderabad, u r thinking to opt for ITM NM....
I have a strong opinion that you should join ICFAI Hyderabad. If u intend to stay in Mumbai, then both ITM and NL Dalmia will be good. Dalmia is especially better if u look at fee point of view and also the faculty for Finance in NL Damia is very famous in Mumbai University.

also mark my words this college is considered as one amongst the best B-school for finance in Mumbai....
ya that is a different story if you got a call from iim or the best 10-15 b-school...

can anyone lease tell me how to prepare for group discussion and personal interview for PGDM (2010-2012) couse of dalmiya college.

The only thing that we can advise is... Try to speak in GD and try to justify urself in PI.

We can't predict the topics so can't actually tell u what to read and what not, but just brush up the current affairs, it may help, no harm in reading after all... Basic info... smthing you did in your college, or probably smthing that were supposed to be done but werent touched...

1 important notice... Please dnt ever try to goof up the panel... Respect them for the knowledge they have and understand, they are more knowledgeable and well read than us... So if you do not know the answers, politely saying "I do not know" is much better than just trying ur luck out there and if it goes wrong, God knows what would happen. And trust me I myself have said I do not know and the panels are more impressed coz they know ki we have guts to accept our flaws also... and please don't loose that million dollar smile...

And yes, last thing to note... e1 if you do not know much on d topic thrown @U on the D-day, try to listen to what's gng around and what other's speak, and add on to their points, u wud get marks for adding to the points a new concept... So dnt wry if u think you dunno on this topic... Sit silently and wait for your turn... (not forever although)

And yes... 1 main thing... Please do not b under impression ki 1st talker gets extra points... Points are given if you:
1. Give valuable points (For starter - a good base to discuss, explaining the theme - esply for abstract or having a blasful start)
2. Adding new concepts to points (facts/figures/examples to save u for repeating the old point coz repeatation dnt fetch u marks )
3. LIstening and adding a new idea.

So act wise even under stress... Hope this helps you all...

Well no one can predict abt interview questions.. but frm my past experience, they asked me regarding my work experience, my acads, some general finance questions, etc. Many questions were based on what I answered during the interview.. it is u who can take the PI the way u want.. so b confident and DO NOT BLUFF.. they'll catch u if u do that.. hope this helps..
